  • We have developed a composition containing three kinds of plant extracts (Deris, Citronella, and Cinnamon) and supplements (xanthan gum and silicone-based compounds) having high control effects on Metcalfa pruinosa. This composition had more than 90% of the nymph bug control effect in the ginseng plantation. In addition, since the insecticidal rate is high for other absorptive pests, it is considered that it can be used as a countermeasure against the implementation of the PLS (positive list system).

  • In this paper, we discuss the abnormalities of flexion and extension in elbow disease in general. Flexion and extension represent arm flexion and extension while being set to 90 degrees. In this case, the angle of the arm is remarkably small, or the pain is accompanied by an abnormality in the elbow. We tested 100 elbow flexions and extensions at the age of 50 and calculated the number of people in each case. After that, patients with abnormalities in flexion and extension were classified and their treatment methods were presented. In this paper, we have developed a system for treating musculoskeletal disorders.

  • We studies a model for management of pepper anthracnose based covering method and spraying system in field. 1. Among 82 organic fungicides, 42 materials showed most effective inhibition against mycelia growth of the Colletotrichum acutatum in vitro. 23 formulated biocontrol agents were chosen to control the disease from 42 biocontrol agents in greenhouse. In the end, five kinds (2 plant extracts, 2 biopesiticides, 1 Bordeaux mixture) were selected from 23 materials in the field. 2. The mulching materials of bed covering in fruit season were thin non-woven fabric sheet and black plastic. The use of a fabric sheet was reduced the spread of anthracnose as compared to the plastic covering. 3. The application with the chosen materials was reduced 34% of anthracnose for 7 times sprays to planting 70 days as compared to the untreated control. In yield, nonwoven fabric sheet with formulated biopesticides was increased 17% than black plastic. 4. This result indicated that the developed biocontrol strategy could be an effective and economic crop protection system in organic pepper cultivation field.

  • This study aims to explore the present and future of agricultural extension system in Uganda. Though Uganda has used many approaches in its agricultural extension, very little has been registered in farm productivity and profitability. Too many reforms some of them some are top-down while others are bottom - up. In most cases these reforms may not be given a chance to develop to show their impact. Future success of agricultural extension and rural development efforts in Uganda will depend not only on the presence of technical expertise and availability of resources but also on each government's willingness to redefine the role of its institutions and to allow the active participation of rural people in formulating and implementing and agricultural extension and rural development programs. As result the public extension systems in Uganda needs to be demand-driven so to make it relevant and important to the beneficiary.

  • Poitical demand for decentralization trends in Korea has led the government to plan to localize its agricultural extension system by changing the status of 6,696 extension personnel stationed at the provincial and county level from central government status to local government status as of January 1997. However, serious drawbacks of lowered morale of extension personnel and the financial burden of local governments has not yet been debated extensively for effective personnel management. Some of the findings that emerged from both the analytical and empirical research show the dangers of decentralization such as an increase in disparities, jeopardizing stability, and undermining efficiency. These problems should be considered along with the culture, tradition, and Koreans' attitude towards central and local government. The dangers of decentralization of agricultural extension services in Korea may cause serious problems in allocative efficiency because of a mismatch between available resources and promised expenditures, and in production efficiency because of unproven cost-effective provisions of local governments. It is accepted that the central government can invest more in technology, research, development, promotion and innovation in the agricultural sector. However, changing the status of extension personnel from central government to local government status may lead the best people to leave, lower morale, shake the sense of public service, break networks, and sacrifice investment in research, development and extension. In deciding the future directions for personnel management of agricultural extension services in Korea, maintaining or reinforcing the existing national status of extension personnel should be considered along with a reflection of the basic characteristics of agricultural extension services, linkages of research and extension, the financial burden of local government, specialization of extension personnel, unnecessary duplication of investment among local governments, possible national supports to agricultural research and development, and extension under the WTO systems.

  • Since the creation of modern cadastral system in 1910's the cadastral system has been modified to comply with a new technical development and diverse requirements. However, the discussion on the directions for extension of cadastral records has been rarely addressed. In this paper it is proposed that the direction of extension cadastral records from the current a right focused perspective to an obligation and restrictions perspective based on the FIG Commission 7's Cadastre 2014 which is a future vision of cadastral system development. As the extension directions, a legal and technical perspective and functional extension for a role for land information publicity platform has been presented. Considering the extension directions an environment and disaster management field has been reviewed for an applicable fields.

  • This study was focused on the development of greenhouse management and environmental control system using internet. The essence of this system were remote automatic control unit connected with greenhouse environmental control according to the growth stages of crops, The specific objectives of the study were; 1) to analyze need of greenhouse environmental remote control system, 2) to investigate the important functions related to greenhouse management program, 3) to explore the possibility of diffusing the system using internet. The study was carried out through review of related literature and need assessment from the research and extension workers in charge of greenhouse management using questionnaire survey, interview and field study. The results of the study were summarized as fallows: 1) About 89% of respondents responded positively on the need to establish automatic control system using internet. 2) The greenhouse management and environmental control system using internet was possible to control the greenhouse in remote, automatic, and simultaneous manner, and additionally by cellular phone in emergent situation. 3) The system was possible to precisely control the greenhouse environment, and it was able to connect the environmental control data with information on growth of crops. 4) By networking the farmer, extension educator of agricultural technology center and researcher, web based farm consulting was possible through the system. Based on the results of the study recommendations were suggested as follows: 1) Thorough spot inspections and field trials should be performed before the diffusion of this system. 2) The costs of the system installation and maintenance should be moderate. 3) The operation of the system should be simple and easy for tamers to adopt. 4) National support should be made to build better internet infrastructure in rural areas.

  • This study is as to payment improvement method of additional incidental cost to be occurred upon extension of public construction time. According to the result of analysis about the cause of non-payment of additional incidental cost of construction time extension through site examples, it was found that difficulties exist in disputes & proofing over the scope of actual cost recognition, and in this regard the result of experts opinion indicated that a construction extension pre-agreement system can be executed which agrees the scope of recognition of additional incidental cost of construction time extension once the statistical standard is clear and accurate. Accordingly, in this study, by totalling multiple sites data, calculations were implemented in terms of type of construction projects, amount of constructions, period of constructions. According to the result of calculation, the element of type of construction project and construction period appears to have none direct effect to the occurrence of additional cost of construction time extension, but direct relationship was indicated related to the contract amount element. In view of above, in this study a standard additional incidental cost of construction time extension was proposed, and presented a system improvement plan to implement the construction extension pre-agreement system.
