The purpose of this study was to provide useful data for developing adult education program by assessing educational needs of rural women in home improvement educational contents. Data of this study were collected by interview from 500 home makers who are under 65 years old in 20 areas in Korea. The results are as follows : 1) Winter was favorite season, and good time band during a day was afternoon. Favorite teaching hours were 2∼3 hours a day and 1∼3 days per term. And they wanted village convention center or rural gidance office as educational place, and prefered lecturer is home improvement extension worker. 2) Among relationship between needs for education method and individual variables, is only corelated with rural women's living and educational degree significantly. To improve educational effect, teaching method is more prefered for the participatory education than lecture. It should be provided with exclusive educational place, and be increased professional field workes with obligation and power.
The purpose of this paper is to suggest diagnosis support system for diseases of mind so that users can make effective decisions without professional knowledge by developing efficient knowledge system and utilizing ontology with which questions and logic inference are possible to diagnose diseases of mind. Furthermore, this diagnosis support system could be applied to supplement previous diagnosis method which depends on experiences by activating the diagnose of mind diseases thru ontology and determining state of mind effectively without technical knowledge. As a result of this experiment, diagnosis support system for diseases of mind was found to be accordance with the result of consulting instructions and show additional relevance thru utility extension.
The female image has been changed incessantly with age and has been eminently represented in cosmetic advertisement. The female images are changed from the classical images to the active and professional images with the historical current of cyber, digital, and fusion. These changes in the expression of female image are largely due to the spread of post-modernism, feminism, de-construction (Kim, 1994), digital information revolution, and increase of income. The female images in cosmetic advertisement have been expressed very variously with fashion, marketing target, and characteristics of articles. (Im, 1997) The cosmetic advertisements of pure and graceful images were popular in the past. But nowadays individual image, womanly image, and unchanged beautiful image are in vogue. Individual image is very popular in young generation with very short fashion period. Active career woman image represents passion and beauty with extension of women' social roles. Unchanged beautiful image in modern industrial pollution stands for the desire of keeping the beauty in youth. Brand is very important factor to consumers in purchasing. Brand is no larger the simple concept in the past, and accepted as reflection of the image, social status, service, and life-style(Lee, 1998) consumers are very favorable to foreign cosmetics with the increase of overseas travels and import. This phenomenon is considered as very natural, especially in young generation. To create a successful brand image, the harmony of quality, psychological preference, advertisement, and reasonable price are required. According to the questionnaire research implemented by the subject of college women students in five universities in Seoul, the majority of college women students purchase domestic cosmetic brands in cosmetic specialty stores and depend on the tips of acquaintances. Quality, skin-trouble, and brand are considered as special regards for purchasing. Especially, internet shopping in purchasing marks high growth rate and preference for foreign cosmetics is very ardent. It can be expected that the 21st century is the epoch of various small production different from the mass-production in the 20th century. Female image will be probably expressed with individual, emotional, and professional image in the media of digital, fusion, cyber, and technology culture. It can be said that the tendency of cosmetic purchasing in the future will be more focused on brand image and life style.
This study aims to develop useful programs, which would promote the economic activities of rural elderly and their living standard as the silver population is growing in the society, to present the direction of policy related to the elderly for governmental agencies, and make it available as data that can be accessed by civil servants, in charge of elderly-related matters and currently serving at city office and municipal and county agricultural technique center, so that they can provide education to the elderly. For this, first, the economic condition of the rural elderly and their requirements have to be diagnosed. Second, we developed a program that specially aimed at improving their economic activities. To develop of program, a survey questionnaire was administered with the 881 elderly over 60 years old who live in 110 rural villages. Face to face interview was carried out by professional interviewer. The result was once posted in the 2nd issue of volume 14th of this journal in 2004 with the title of "Study of the rural elderly's activities and needs of economics." Based on such result of study, we developed the program to provide jobs to the rural elderly that are suitable for them. 2 types programs, which differ from each other depending on the subject of implementing the welfare of the elderly, were developed: first, "program to create jobs for rural elderly at the policy supporting level, which requires the government to drive forward, and second, 'program to provide education to rural elderly at the social level' to foster them as competent human resources."
This research aims to clarify what kind of competencies are the source of the competitiveness of an enterprise and the standards for the development of human resources. Its specific objectives are the following; First, to develop methods for examining competencies to carry out one’s job. Second, to draw out the competencies necessary for carrying out the jobs by jobs on the basis of the developed methods. Third, to clarify the competencies commonly needed to carry out all kinds of jobs. This study collected materials for drawing out the competencies needed to perform 21 jobs in six job groups. This was done with the help of a panel of professionals. The process for drawing out the competencies required to perform certain job was designed in six steps. These steps combine classical methods using particular reference groups as well as model methods for particular job competencies. The materials for the R&D job were gathered for three months starting from February 2001. Materials from 20 other jobs were also collected three times from the end of May to the end of October 2001. This was done through workshops with professional groups. The highlights of this study are as follows: 1) The results applying the methods developed for drawing out job competencies to the duties of investigation & research part in R&D job were presented as an example. 2) The job competencies of the company totaled 215 in 21 jobs irrespective of overlapping, which means each job has about 10 competencies on the average. 3) The common job competencies of the whole company totaled eight. namely: competency for collecting information/processing/analyzing, communication competency, presentation competency, competency for utilizing the web, competency for planning projects, competency for solving problems, competency for understanding organization/business/products of the company, and competency for satisfying customers.
This study intended to enhance the quality of life of rural adolescents through survey 185 young people in YeonChun County, in the course of measuring the level of life of adolescents and finding several variables related with the level and drawing some applications for enhancement. As a result of this study we had some findings 1) the most young people were belonging to the second (vital feeling value) level and third (mental value) level 2) Sex, religion, tendency oriented to other person were three related variables with the level. The more the people having other-oriented tendency the higher the level of value. Female, Christian is higher in the level. 3) Many adolescents showed little hearty satisfaction concering their own life 4) The level of act in their real life were corresponded with the level of value 5) Characteristics of high value-level adolescents against low value-level ones were that they had high level of value-recognition, less family member. The hit ratio was 83.7 percent. On the basis of this study the following suggestions for the improvement of quality of life for youth in the rural area in the future. First, we should make a great effort in value education in order to clearly get the goal of the true life. The quality improvement such as the education of mental life and religion for the young people by developing programs to continously improve the value of life. Second, the necessity of behavior guiding other oriented tendency should be emphasized. We should connect adolescents with value recognition through more interest in actions. And third, it is necessary to make a professional effort for the improvement of level of value, that is, an in depth study of the theoretical systemization.
The objective of this research is to acquire basic data to develop a program for professional consultants who can consult and provide advice for rural women's small business entrepreneur. In this research, startup business educational programs and 10 major related textbooks in Korea were analyzed, and a survey was conducted in which 71 owners of government funded rural small business responded. The major findings are as follows; First, most programs were targeting city females and were providing basic information mostly using lecture method over a few days. And no programs for rural women's small business could be found. Second, no textbooks dealing with rural women's small business could be found and the contents of each textbook differed significantly even though there were a few common points. Third, the result of the survey indicated that rural women's small business entrepreneurs had difficulty especially in acquiring necessary initial funds and raw materials, selling products, and judging the possibility of business success. And, there was significant difference in importance and perceived knowledge over 36 business know-hows in business startup area among the respondents. Based on the results, the followings could be recommended; First, educational programs for rural women's small business entrepreneurs should use a unique and different approach than other industries. Also, it is necessary to foster startup consultants especially for the rural women's small business entrepreneurs and to develop a delivery system for the startup educational programs. Second, contents of educational programs need to be selectively included depending on the level of uses. Finally, a workbook should be developed so that entrepreneur candidates can actually practice rather than just acquiring basic information and superficial knowledge during the participation.
This study aims to develop a curriculum for nurturing experts who perform agricultural safety and health management tasks. This study was conducted in three stages. First, job definitions and job models of agricultural safety and health managers were derived through job analysis using the DACUM technique. Second, job demand analysis was conducted by conducting a survey on the difficulty, importance, and frequency of each task. Third, IPA analysis was performed as the first priority tasks of job demand analysis to present the courses and subjects of the training course for safety and health managers in agricultural work. The job of the agricultural safety and health manager was defined as "to conduct guidance and advice on safety and health education, risk factors, and evaluation and management of harmful factors to protect farmers' professional health and safety." The job model consisted of 4 tasks, 31 core tasks, and 67 detailed tasks. As a result of job demand analysis, there were 39 tasks in the 1st priority, 22 in the 2nd priority, and 6 in the 3rd priority. As a result of the IPA analysis, there were 13 'capacity development focused areas', 4 'capacity development effort areas', 11 'low priority areas', and 3 'continuous maintenance areas'.
The school library in Korea, with its short history, has not been fully awared of its importance yet. As a result, most of school libraries in Korea have not been fundtioning as the center of educational activity which is closely connected with learning process and as the place of the extension of classroom, but as the place of storing books. Besides the importance of materials and facilities, the educational function of school libraries can be fully achieved only when each school librarian clearly understands his work and duties, and accomplishes them successfully. This study, which are based on analysis of literature investigations and precedent studies, are summarized as follow: 1. There is an absolute lack of the number of school librarians (or alternative teachers) in comparison to the number which is specified in the regulations of Library Law. 2. There is no a n.0, ppropriate legal foundation for employment of school librarians and library assistants, and of their o n.0, pportunities for promotion. 3. The school library in korea has been stayed so far on its infantile, namely 'the period of material arrangement', in the aspect of the function. 4. The administrative organization of the school library has not gained much recognition of its professional character. And even more the position of the school library today is not enough clear to be stable in the total school system. By solving these factors step, the newly reformed school library in Korea will play a great role in improving her education by the hand of school librarians whose spirits are re-filled with willingness and creativity.
The purpose of this study is to develop a farm management diagnostic checklist form, which can be applied to any crops. First, upper indexes and subordinate indexes were identified through survey with expert, and weighted values for each subordinate index were calculated through AHP analysis. Second, as a reuslt of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis, marketing management (0.276) was found to be the most important index of all upper indexes. In the case of subordinate indexes, reflecting management evaluation (0.252) of management consciousness, quality enhancement efforts (0.332) of production management, locating new sales outlets (0.323) of marketing management, agriculture accounting (0.300) of finance management, and adjusting shipping dates (0.274) of risk management were found to be the highest. Third, the interval division using weight of farm receiving prices was higher discrimination in comparison to equal interval division of weighted values for each index. The newly developed farm management diagnostic checklist can be applied to any crops, as it utilizes indexes such as management consciousness, production management, marketing management, financial management, risk management, etc. based on professional opinions. In addition, it allows an objective evaluation of farm management situations by utilizing the weighted value of farm receiving prices.
