  • In Jøsang's trust model, trust evaluation is obtained through operators, but there are problems with the mutuality and asymmetry of trust and the impact of event weight on trust evaluation. Trust evaluation is updated dynamically and continuously with time and the process of interactions, but it has not been reflected in Jøsang's model. Therefore, final trust evaluation is not accurate, and malicious fraud cannot be prevented effectively. This causes the success rate of interaction to be low. To solve these problems, a new dynamic trust model is proposed based on extended subjective logic (DTM-ESL). In DTM-ESL, the event weight and the mutuality of trust are fully considered, the original one-way trust relationship is extended to a two-way trust relationship, discounting and consensus operators are improved, and trust renewal is designed based on event weight. The viability and effectiveness of this new model are verified by simulation experiments.

  • Conventional methods of model evaluation usually rely only on model performance based on a comparison of simulated variables to corresponding observations. However, this type of model evaluation has been criticized because of its insufficient consideration of the various uncertainty sources involved in modeling processes. This study aims to propose an extended model evaluation method using multiple assesment indices (MAIs) that consider not only the model performance but also the model structure and parameter uncertainties in rainfall-runoff modeling. A simple reservoir model (SFM) and distributed kinematic wave models (KWMSS1 and KWMSS2 using topography from 250m, 500m, and 1km digital elevation models) were developed and assessed by three MAIs for model performance, model structural stability, and parameter identifiability. All the models provided acceptable performance in terms of a global response, but the simpler SFM and KWMSS1 could not accurately represent the local behaviors of hydrographs. In addition, SFM and KWMSS1 were structurally unstable; their performance was sensitive to the applied objective functions. On the other hand, the most sophisticated model, KWMSS2, performed well, satisfying both global and local behaviors. KMSS2 also showed good structural stability, reproducing hydrographs regardless of the applied objective functions; however, superior parameter identifiability was not guaranteed. Numerous parameter sets could lead to indistinguishable hydrographs. This result supports that while making a model complex increases its performance accuracy and reduces its structural uncertainty, the model is likely to suffer from parameter uncertainty. The proposed model evaluation process can provide an effective guideline for identifying a reliable hydrologic model.

  • This paper proposes an extended model evaluation method that considers not only the model performance but also the model structure and parameter uncertainties in hydrologic modeling. A simple reservoir model (SFM) and distributed kinematic wave models (KWMSS1 and KWMSS2 using topography from 250-m, 500-m, and 1-km digital elevation models) were developed and assessed by three evaluative criteria for model performance, model structural stability, and parameter identifiability. All the models provided acceptable performance in terms of a global response, but the simpler SFM and KWMSS1 could not accurately represent the local behaviors of hydrographs. Moreover, SFM and KWMSS1 were structurally unstable; their performance was sensitive to the applied objective functions. On the other hand, the most sophisticated model, KWMSS2, performed well, satisfying both global and local behaviors. KMSS2 also showed good structural stability, reproducing hydrographs regardless of the applied objective functions; however, superior parameter identifiability was not guaranteed. A number of parameter sets could result in indistinguishable hydrographs. This result indicates that while making hydrologic models complex increases its performance accuracy and reduces its structural uncertainty, the model is likely to suffer from parameter uncertainty.

  • This study presented a model predictive tracking control algorithm of autonomous truck based on object state estimation using extended Kalman filter. To design the model, the 1-layer laser scanner was used to estimate position and velocity of the object using extended Kalman filter. Based on these estimations, the desired linear path for object tracking was computed. The lateral and yaw angle errors were computed using the computed linear path and relative positions of the truck. The computed errors were used in the model predictive control algorithm to compute the optimal steering angle for object tracking. The performance evaluation was conducted on Matlab/Simulink environments using planar truck model and actual point data obtained from laser scanner. The evaluation results showed that the tracking control algorithm developed in this study can track the object reasonably based on the model predictive control algorithm based on the estimated states.

  • In the modern warfield, as the defense systems has been digitalized, intelligent, and working with network, the importance of interoperability among the systems has been also increasing. KMND(Korean Ministry of National Defense) has developed and used the SITES(Systems Interoperability Test & Evaluation System) based on Korean LISI(Levels of Information Systems Interoperability). SITES had been developed in order to evaluate the interoperability among information systems from the viewpoint of technical attributes. In this paper, we propose the extended interoperability evaluation model which can be applied not only the information systems, but also the weapon systems. Moreover, the extended interoperability evaluation model also includes the consideration of non-technical attributes.

  • The present study analyzed the effects of brand extension on the existing parent brand by applying the media brand extension model which previous studies had suggested based on consumer based brand equity model. Based on previous studies, the present study constructed a research model in which pre-brand extension parent brand evaluation, brand portfolio quality variance, perceived number of brand extensions, perceived fit between parent brand and brand extended channel, and brand extended channel evaluation are supposed to affect post-brand extension brand extension evaluation, and tested the media brand extension feedback effects model through structural equation modeling. The analysis results show that pre-brand extension parent brand evaluation, brand portfolio quality variance, perceived fit, and brand extended channel evaluation affect post-brand extension parent brand evaluation while the effect of perceived number of brand extensions is not significant.

  • DEA(data envelopment analysis) is a non-parametric technique for measuring and evaluating the relative efficiencies of a set of entities with common crisp inputs and outputs. In fact, in a real evaluation problem input and output data of entities often flucturate. These fluctuating data can be represented as linguistic variables characterized by fuzzy numbers. Based on a fundamental CCR model, a fuzzy DEA model is proposed to deal with fuzzy input and output data, Furthermore, a model that extends a fuzzy DEA to a more general case is also proposed with considering the relation between DEA and RA (regression analysis) . the crisp efficiency in CCR modelis extended to an L-R fuzzy number in fuzzy DEA problems to reflect some uncertainty in real evaluation problems.

  • Quality evaluation and control represent increasingly important concerns for construction quality management. There is an evident need for a standard data model to be used as the basis for computer-aided quality management. This study focuses on how to realize evaluation of construction quality based on BIM and database technology. In this paper, the reinforced concrete main structure is taken as an example, and the BP neural network evaluation model is established by inquiring current construction quality acceptance specification and evaluation standard. Furthermore, IFC standard is extended to integrate quality evaluation information and realize the mapping of evaluation information in BIM model, contributing to the visualization and transfer sharing of evaluation information. Furthermore, the conceptual entity model is designed to build quality evaluation database, and this paper select MySQL workbench system to achieve the establishment of the database. This study is organized to realize the requirement of visualization and data integration on construction quality evaluation which makes it more effective, convenient, intuitive, easy to find quality problems and provide more comprehensive and reliable data for the quality management of construction enterprises and official construction administratiors.

  • When we see a binary black and white image, it appears. to our visual sense, to become clearer because of a pseudo halftone. This is because when we don't notice of all the details of the image, instead we see from a more global standpoint. We presented a theory and experimental results for layered model which extended external world, retina and brain of the two dimensional visual model. This paper propose the objective evaluation to coincide with the subjective evaluation of the human in ordered to evaluate the relative merits of the various modulation method. We obtain experimentally the restored images and the measure of approximation of the density four division and ordered dither method. The measure of approximation present s the objective evaluation scale to coincide with the subjective evaluation of the two modulation images.

  • We applied the simulation method using Petri Nets to a FMS model. Generally ordinary Petri Net would be short of describing a real FMS operations. Hence we adopted the extended Petri-Mets(EPN) and timed places in order to have performance evaluation. Our simulator use data based modeled of Petri Nets in simulation. We can enhance the overall production rate of the system with the obtained results over a number of simulations.
