  • A Study was performed in order to measure mixed organic solvent concentrations in air of painting operations during January 5-28, 1991. The mixed organic solvent concentrations were analyzed by the gas chromatography. The results were as follows: 1. The detection of organic solvent was highest in aromatic hydrocarbon(68%), and followed by aliphatic hydrocarbon (18%), and ketone (14%). 2. The detection of organic solvent by component category was highest in the grid class solvent (79.4%), and followed by the 3rd class solvent (20.6%). 3. Number of cases exceeding TLVS of mixed solvent level in air was highest on dipping operation (44%), and followed by spray operation (40%), dry and washing operation (33%), and adhensive operation (12%).

  • We carroed our to measure the variations of potential with current density (polarization curves) for poly(ethyleneterephthalate). The results were particularly examined to identify the influences on corrosion potential and corrosion rate of various factors including temperature, pH, exposure time, salt, and enzyme. The Tafel slope for anodic dissolution was determined by the polarization effect depending on these conditions. The optimum conditions were established for each case. The second anodic current density peak and maximum passive current density were designated as the relative corrosion sensitivity$(I_r/I_f)$. The mass transfer coefficient value$(\alpha)$ was determined with the Tafel slope for anodic dissolution based on the polarization effect with optimum conditions.

  • By setting a refractor with a certain angle against the optical axis of the CCD camera lens, the image of a measuring point recorded on the image plane is displaced by the corresponding amounts related to the distance between the camera and the measuring point. When the refractor that keeps the angle against the optical axis is rotated physically at high speed during the exposure of the camera, the image of a measuring point draws an annular streak. Since the size of the annular streak is inversely proportional to the distance between the camera and the measuring point, the 3D position of the measuring point can be obtained by processing the streak. In this paper, for one of the applications of our system, the measurement of a moving surface is introduced. In order to measure the moving surface, multi laser spots are projected on the surface of object. Each position of ...

  • This paper introduces experimental results related to the vibration ride conditions that a korean male subject experienced in the railway trains and the express bus. Two types of railway train's, Samaulho and Mugunghwaho, and the express bus were chosen to measure how much the whole-body vibrations of the back, hip and feet are exposes to the subject. Measured vibration signals were analysed to assess the ride conditions quantitatively and qualitatively. Analysed results are illustrated to see how much typical public transportation systems in korea expose vibration to passengers.

  • Epidemiological studies of arsenic have shown that chronic exposure to arsenic can result in an increased incidence of cancer of the lung, skin, bladder and liver. It is impossible that the toxicity study of arsenic in the human, we become to measure in vitro cytotoxicity of inorganic and organic arsenic in the human normal liver cells including Chang Liver and WRL. • This study discusses a non-contact optical technique, electronic speckle pattern interformetry(ESPI), that is well suited for in-plane and out-of-plane deformation measurement. However, the existing ESPI methods that are based on dual-exposure, real-time and time-average method have difficulties for accurate measurement of structure, due to irregular intensity and shake of phase. Therefore, phase shifting method has been proposed in order to solve this problem. About the method, the path of reference light in interferometry is shifted and added to least square fitting method to make the improvement in distinction and precision. This proposed method is applied to measure in -plane displacement that is compared with the previous method. Also, Used as specimen AS4/PE따 [30/=30/90]s was analyzed by ESPI based on real-time to determine the characteristics of vibration under no-load and tension. These results are quantitatively compared with those of FEM analysis inmode shapes.

• Compressive property of high strength concrete with amorphous metal fibers subject to high temperature has been investigated. The measure of this investigation includes explosive spalling, weight loss, residual compressive strength, strain at peak stress, elastic modulus, and residual energy absorption capacity after exposure to $400^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$and $800^{\circ}C$. In addition to the amorphous metal fiber, two other types of fibers (polypropylene fiber and hooked-end steel fiber) were also included in this investigation for comparison. The experimental program was conducted with high strength concrete using several combinations of the fiber types. The testing result shows that the concrete with amorphous metal fibers plus polypropylene fibers shows a superior behavior than those using other combination or single fiber type ingredient.

  • This paper presents the measurement and correction of PCB alignment errors for PCB-manufacturing machines. The conventional PCB-manufacturing machine doesn't have enough accuracy to accommodate the demand for high-resolution circuit pattern and high-density mounting capacity of electronic chips. It is because of alignment errors of PCB loaded to the PCB-manufacturing machine. Therefore, this study focuses on the development of the system which is able to measure and correct alignment errors whit high-accuracy. An automatic optical inspection part measures the PCB alignment error using two cameras, and the high-accuracy 3-axis stage makes correct of these error. The operating system is run in the environment of Window 98 (or NT). Finally we implemented this system to PCB screen printer and PCB exposure system.

  • Adverse effects caused by the surveillance test for the components of nuclear power plant involve plant transients, unnecessary wear, burden on licensee's time, and the radiation exposure to personnel along with the characteristics of each component. The optimization methodology of STI and AOT has been developed and applied to AFWPs of a reference plant. The approach proposed in this paper consist of the resole in minimal mean unavailability of the two-out-of-four system with adverse effects are analytically calculated for the example system. The surveillance testing strategy are given by the sequential test, the staggered test and the train staggered test which is a mined test scheme. In the system level, the sensitivity analyses for the STI and AOT, are performed for the measure of the system unavailability of the top event in the fault tree developed for the example system. This methodology may contribute to establishing the basis for the risk-based regulations.
