  • Korean naval architecture company today is making researches in expansion of productivity of their own accord. In result, they have accomplished many technical developments like a ground shipbuilding system. For our company's productivity expansion in our yard's limited condition (the facility, P.E area, stock area), we develop isometric pre-erection method that turn into a possibility to maximize our facility use, minimize our dock period.

  • A novel motion vector re-estimation technique for transcoding into lower spatial resolution is proposed. This technique is based on the fact that the block matching error is proportional to the complexity of the reference block with Taylor series expansion. It is shown that the motion vectors re-estimated by the proposed method are closer to optimal ones and offer better quality than those of previous techniques.

  • Shrink fitting is often used to replace conventional mechanical fasteners and fastening methods. Localized heating of the mating surface provides temporary expansion and allows slip fit assembly. The resulting interference fit exhibits exceptional strength without surface deformation at ambient temperatures. We studied an analysing method to find out a deformation of motor axis with shrink fitting of thermal expansion.

  • The modified F-expansion method is used to construct analytical solutions of the foam drainage equation with time- and space-fractional derivatives. The conformable derivatives are considered as spacial and temporal ones. As a result, some analytical exact solutions including kink, bright-dark soliton, periodic and rational solutions are obtained.

  • The visible emission spectra of the o-xylyl radical in the gas phase have been obtained using a Fourier transform spectrometer coupled with a technique of supersonic expansion. The o-xylyl radical was generated in a jet by expansion with an inert buffer gas He from a high voltage dc discharge of the precursor o-xylene. The spectra were analyzed on the basis of the rotational contours of the vibronic bands as well as the known vibrational frequencies by a matrix isolation method.

  • A new tunnel auxiliary method is proposed in this paper which utilizes the concept of cavity expansion for tuunel reinforcement by forming an umbrella arch on the roof of tunnel. When an inflatable pipe is inserted and expanded by pressure in the bore hole of umbrella arch, the ground around the bore hole can be compacted so that the stress condition above the tunnel perimeter is favorably changed. In order to verify the reinforcement effect of new concept, pilot-scale chamber test, trapdoor test and numerical analysis were performed and compared. In pilot-scale chamber test, three types of inflatable pipes are tested to verify the capability of expansion, and the results arc compared with analytical results obtained by applying cavity expansion theory and with results obtained from finite clement analysis, and the experimental results showed agreeable matches with analytical and numerical ones. Numerical analysis of a tunnel and trapdoor test applied with the inflatable pipes are also performed to figure out the reinforcement effect of the proposed techniques, and the results implied that the new method with 3 directional inflatable pipe (no pressure to downward direction) can contribute to reduce tunnel convergence and face settlement.
