  • Carbon fiber-reinforced silicon carbide (Cf-SiC) and SiC / SiC composites have high thermal conductivity, and excellent corrosion and wear resistance, a low coefficient for thermal expansion and are lightweight. This is why they are commonly used in parts of the aerospace industry to develop an aircraft thrust deflector, jet vane, combustion chamber, elevens, body flap, and a shingle. So, understanding how this state-of-the-art Cf-SiC affects both internal and external crack detection and determining issues during the manufacturing process of composite materials, should be evaluated according to valuation techniques in the external environment. In this paper, we apply a non-contact air ultrasonic technique of non-destructive testing techniques to perform a study on internal defect detection identification and assessment of carbon-fiber reinforced silicon carbide composites to perform basic research and applied research.

  • The thermal characteristics of high-speed air spindle system with built-in motor are studied. Experiment and finite difference method analysis obtain temperature rise and temperature distribution of housing. For the analysis, air fluid film model is built and temperature rise and distribution in thermal steady state are computed for each rotational speed. Generally, it is said that the heat generation of air bearing is negligible. But the heat generation in air film by heat dissipation can not be negligible especially into high-speed region of the journal. In case that the heat generation of air spindle system is high, natural frequency of the spindle system becomes lower when the thermal state is in steady-state and it means the changes of air bearing stiffness due to the change of bearing clearance. It is shown that the temperature rise of air spindle system causes thermal expansion and induces the variation of bearing clearance. In consequence the stiffness of air bearing becomes smaller.

  • The communication through optical fiber is taking an important role of the expansion of communication network with excellent transmitting rate and quality. As the optical communication is introduced to the backbone network at first and becomes a general communication method of network, the demand of kernel parts of optical communication such as PLC(Planar Light Circuit), Coupler, and WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) element increases. The alignment and the attachment technology are very important in the fabrication of optical elements. In this paper, the driving mechanism of ultra precision stage is studied with the aim of optimal design of stage. The travel and the resolution of stage are investigated. The hysteresis of the stage is generated because of PZT actuator. The hysteresis and the inverse hysteresis are modeled in X, Y, and Z-axis motion. The input data of desired displacement of the stage according to input voltage is obtained from the inverse hysteresis equation. In the result of experiments with the input data, the errors due to hysteresis are well compensated.

  • A continuum analysis has been performed for the application to the thermo-elasto-plastic behavior in a discontinuous metal matrix composite. an FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis was implemented to obtain the internal field quantities of composite as well as overall composite behavior and an experiment was demonstrated to compare with the numerical simulation . As the procedure, a reasonably optimized FE mesh generation, the appropriate imposition of boundary condition , and the relevant post processing such as elastoplastic thermomchanical analysis were taken into account. For the numerical illustration, an aligned axisymmetric single fiber model with temperature dependent material properties and precipitation hardening effect has been employed to assess field quantities. It was found that the residual stresses are induced substantially by the temperature drop during the thermal treatment and that the FEM results of the vertically and horizontally constrained model give a good agreement with experimental data.with non-woven carbon mat is about 24% higher than that of composite materials without non-woven carbon mat. Transverse tensile strength and torughness also increase by inserting non-woven carbon mat between layers.

  • In this study, remodeling projects are perceived as a sustainable urban management policy to boost the value of old apartments and stimulate urban regeneration and development. To evaluate the physical environmental performance of external spaces of remodeled apartments, an evaluation model was developed. After applying it to the target places, the following results were obtained. First, analysis of the external space change index of the target apartments revealed that institutional standards are necessary in line with the building arrangement type, parking lot expansion method, and changes in the building-to-land ratio. Second, the score ratio as to the external space change index performance is as follows: safety (48.30); pleasantness (25.90); convenience (18.90); eco-friendliness (14.90). In other words, "safety" had the biggest score ratio. Third, to boost the external space performance of remodeled apartments, the needs of residents and neighboring environmental plans should be considered from a communality standpoint.

  • During spray coating, especially in an air plasma spray (APS), pores, cracks, and splat boundaries are developed and those factors exert influence on thermomechanical properties such as elastic modulus, thermal conductivity, and coefficient of thermal expansion. Moreover, the thermo mechanical properties are crucial elements to determine the thermoelastic characteristics, for instance, temperature distribution, displacements, and stresses. Two types of thermal barrier coating (TBC) model, the dense and porous microstructures, are taken into account for the analysis of microstructural characterizations. $TriplexPro^{TM}$-200 system was applied to prepare TBC samples, and the METECO 204 C-NS powder is adopted for the relatively porous microstructure and METECO 204 NS powder for the dense microstructure in the top coat of TBCs. Governing partial differential equations were derived based on the thermoelastic theory and approximate estimates for the thermoelastic characteristics were obtained using a finite volume method for the governing equations.

  • This paper presents the theroetical analysis of the crack tip stress intensity factor for a center crack in a finite width plate with variable thickness. The analyses were based on Laurent's expansions of complex stress potentials where the expansion coefficients are determined from the boundary conditions. The perturbation method was employed in numerical calculations. The correction factor F(.lambda.)is given in the form of power series of .lambda. [a numerical formula] where .lambda.=a/w$^{1}$; Dimensionless crack length, .betha.=t$_{2}$/t; Thickness ratio .omega.=w$_{2}$/w$_{1}$; width ratio The correction factor values vary with the width ratio .omega. and the maximum variation occurs around .betha.=1. For the case of .betha.=1 or .betha.=0 (uniform thickness plate0, the correction factor values agree well with Feddersen's formula. In all cases, as .lambda. approaches to 1 (thickness interface), the correction factor values are decreased rapidly for .betha.>1, and increased rapidly for .betha.<1.

  • An active compensation method for the deformation of composite structures using additional controllable metal parts is proposed, and its feasibility is experimentally investigated in a simulated space environment. Composite specimens are tested in a vacuum chamber, which is able to maintain pressure on the order of 10-3 torr and interior temperature in the range of ${\pm}30^{\circ}C$. The displacement-measuring interferometer system, which consists of a heterodyne HeNe laser and an interferometer, is used to measure the displacement of the whole structure. Meanwhile, the strain of the composite part and temperature of both parts are measured by fiber Bragg grating sensors and thermistors, respectively. The displacement of the composite structure is maintained within a tolerance of ${\pm}1{\mu}m$ by controlling the elongation of the metal part, which is bonded to the end of the composite part. Also, the possibility of fiber Bragg grating sensors as control input sensors is successfully demonstrated using a proper corrective factor based on the specimen temperature gradient data.

  • The objective of this study was to clarify the effect of addition of green tea powder(0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%) to Yackwa on quality and preservation. Addition of 4% green tea powder turned out to give positive effect on expansion. In test of physical characters, addition of green tea powder had a tendency to lower hardness, cohesiveness, springness and gumminess but to enhance brittleness. Considering the rancidity of oil within Yackwa, addition of green tea powder tended to show lower acid value and peroxide value than non-added treatment but its difference was slight. At the sensory test, surface color, bitterness and green tea flavor were strong but sweet and savory taste weak when green team powder was added(p<0.05). Overall quality appeared to have improved to 5.55 points which is compared to non-addition when the powder was added 4%(p<0.05). In conclusion, 4% addition of green tea powder would be the usefull method to enhance preference and quality of Yackwa.

  • In the studies for the recommender systems which solve the information overload problem of users, the use of transactional data has been continuously tried. Especially, because the firms can easily obtain transactional data along with the development of IoT technologies, transaction-based recommender systems are recently used in various areas. However, the use of transactional data has limitations that it is hard to reflect domain knowledge and they do not directly show user preferences for individual items. Therefore, in this study, we propose a method applying the word embedding in the transaction-based recommender system to reflect preference differences among users and domain knowledge. Our approach is based on SAR, which shows high performance in the recommender systems, and we improved its components by using FastText, one of the word embedding techniques. Experimental results show that the reflection of domain knowledge and preference difference has a significant effect on the performance of recommender systems. Therefore, we expect our study to contribute to the improvement of the transaction-based recommender systems and to suggest the expansion of data used in the recommender system.
