  • Steel is the most used as materials for construction and corrosion expansion of steel due to outdoor corrosive environmental factor bring serious problem on the durability of concrete structures time after time. It is the purpose of this study to see whether it is effective of not, when sacrificial anode method is adapted. Indoor accelerated corrosion testing was carried out to see its effective in a short term. From the mid result, potential of steel in concrete in case of adapting sacrifice anode method satisfacts protection standard value (less than-850mV vs CSE), therefore sacrificial anode method is considered as a proper protection steps against corrosion of steel.

  • We have developed a novel driving method, Six times Rate Driving(SRD) for the purpose of making cost competitive TFT-LCD. By applying SRD method to an a-Si TFT-LCD, the driving rate was increased six times as it was named but the number of data lines and so its D-Ics were reduced to one sixth of the conventional one which resulted in the cost saving of that much. We also newly designed the gate driver in order to avoid any expansion of the bezel width caused by applying SRD. Our newly developed driving technology, SRD was successfully applied to 7.0-inch WSVGA (1024 ${\times}$ 600) TFT-LCD which can be driven with only one data D-IC and here introduced.

  • The time-averaged behavior of the three-phase Inductor-Converter Bridge (ICB) circuit has been analyzed by using the state-space averaging method. Especially, a second order approximation in the matrix expansion makes the analysis possible. The results are in a closed form which is quite different from the conventional solution obtained by using the Fourier Series. Therefore, the computational difficulties in evaluating the infinite Fourier series can be avoided and the results derived in this paper are available expecially in real time control. By comparing with the Fourier result, it has been verified that the analysis by means of the state-space averaging method is more accurate and simple. The digital simulation and the equivalent experiments have also been carried out to confirm the theoretical results.

  • In this paper, the analysis of the gas flow in the GCB is presented by using the modified FLIC method and the arc model. The modified FLIC method has two step calculation procedure. And it adopts the upwind scheme, which results in the stability.[1] The arc model used in this paper makes arc a heating source in the energy equation. The heating source is composed of ohmic heating and radiation energy transfer. And the type of the GCB in this paper is a auto-expansion type.[2]

  • This paper presents a new efficient method for transient analysis in magnetodynamic systems of linear eddy current problems. This mehtod employs the Fourier transform and the high-order frequency sensitivity of harmonic finite element method. By taking into account the time-constant of magnetodynamic system, the Fourier integral of continuous frequency is converted into the Fourier series of discrete frequency. And with the results of Fourier series expansion of converted input wave form, the responses of each sinusoids is superposed to give the total response of the magnetodynamic systems. But, if the frequency band of input wave form is broad, it takes long computational time since all responses for each sinusoids must be calculated. Therefore, the high-order frequency sensitivity method is employed to estimate the response variation to frequency. The proposed algorithm is applied to an induction heating system to validate its numerical efficiency.

  • This study is to investigate adhesive properties depending on the temperature, humidity, and freeze-thraw of the Steel plate adhesive strengthening method by the epoxy resin. The results are summarized as following. For the temperature variation, the debonding failure appear only after 1 cycle of temperature varoation because the coefficient of thermal expansion of the epoxy resin is comparatively large, and the bonding strength is decreased. The deformation properties and ultrasonic pulse velocity on each materials are similar until 4 cycles on the dry and moisture test. As the freeze-thraw test, the epoxy resin is degraded easily subjected to freeze-thaw cycle, comparatively easy, so the debonding failure may occur in short term because of the freeze-thaw repeatition.p

  • A new textile metal matrix composite fur electronic packaging was developed and characterized. The thermal management materials consist of a plain woven carbon fabric as reinforcement and pure aluminum as matrix. The finite element method has been utilized in the analysis of thermal stress between the constituent components of packaging. The prototype part was manufactured by the liquid pressurizing method. The composite has CTE values of 4 to $5{\times}10^{-6}\;^{\circ}C^{-1}$10 in the range of $25^{\circ}C$ ~ 175$^{\circ}C$, resulting in good agreement with electronic materials such as Si and GaAs.

  • $ZnWO_4$ nanocrystallines were prepared from polymeric complex method using microwave irradiation. The average nanocrystalline sizes were 18~25 nm showing an ordinary tendency to increase with the temperatures from 400 to $600^{\circ}C$. Bulk type single crystals of $ZnWO_4$ were grown successfully in the [100], [010] and [001] directions using the Czochralski method. The effect of the growth parameters, such as the rotation speed, pulling rate and diameter of the grown crystals, were examined. The hardness, thermal expansion coefficients and dielectric constants of the crystals were evaluated.

  • The purpose of this study is to study the inner meaning and formative with distorted and atypical Informel image, body image expressed in modern fashion. Method of the study is as follow. The study method examined philosophy of art 19th century?in order to consider interconnections between social and cultural characteristics of expressionistic abstract art, a form of Informel and changed physical style. Based on this method, the Informel image that appeared in the plastic arts in terms of artistic significance and aesthetic value was examined. Based on the above discussion on modern fashion Informel images were expressed in any formative characteristics were considered. The results of this study are as follows. Contingencies through the spontaneous act of art to transcend the image of atypical lines formed elements of coincidence, was developed. Liberation was expressed from liberation of physical boundaries and created outward expansion of the free formative. Atypical was organic forms pursuing spontaneous plasticity and diversity, and appeared in the form of distortion and deformation.

  • A design method has been developed for a Stirling engine with a tubular heater and cooler and a screen type regenerator. This paper provides a design procedure to determine the thermodynamic states and the geometric configurations of the Stirling engine for residential heat pumps. The major design is concerned with the working spaces, i.e. compression and expansion spaces and the heat exchangers such as the heater, the cooler and the regenerator. The Schmidt analysis has been employed to obtain the mass flow rates and heat transfer requirements of the system. The performance analysis of a model Stirling engine was performed by Martini-Weiss program to prove the validity of this design method. The results obtained indicate that this design method is valid for the Stirling engine conceptual design and performance analysis.
