Using variational methods, we study the existence and multiplicity of weak solutions for some p(x)-Laplacian-like problems. First, without assuming any asymptotic condition neither at zero nor at infinity, we prove the existence of a non-zero solution for our problem. Next, we obtain the existence of two solutions, assuming only the classical Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Finally, we present a three solutions existence result under appropriate condition on the potential F.

This paper deals with the existence and energy estimates of solutions for a class of degenerate nonlocal problems involving sub-linear nonlinearities, while the nonlinear part of the problem admits some hypotheses on the behavior at origin or perturbation property. In particular, for a precise localization of the parameter, the existence of a non-zero solution is established requiring the sublinearity of nonlinear part at origin and infinity. We also consider the existence of solutions for our problem under algebraic conditions with the classical Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz. In what follows, by combining two algebraic conditions on the nonlinear term which guarantees the existence of two solutions as well as applying the mountain pass theorem given by Pucci and Serrin, we establish the existence of the third solution for our problem. Moreover, concrete examples of applications are provided.

Professor Daihyun Chung has recently presented an intriguing view of Ban-mal(non-honorific expressions) in Korean. He criticizes uses of Ban-mal, on the grounds that they presuppose the existence of hierarchical structures in human beings. Professor Chung also advocates ″a relational theory of Ban-mal″ according to which ascriptions of 'n-mal' should be relativized to the speaker-hearer relationship. He employs this view in showing that uses of Ban-mal indeed presuppose the existence of hierarchical structures in human beings I claim that Professor Chung has not shown the credibility of his relational theory of Ban-mal, and that this very view leads to an unintended and undesirable consequence. Moreover, 1 show that even if we assume that this view is true for the sake of an argument, he is not able to show that uses of Ban-mal indeed presuppose the existence of hierarchical structures. All he can show is rather that uses of 'Ban-mal'(a meta-linguistic expression) presuppose the existence of hierarchical structures. Finally, 1 conclude that what really presupposes the existence of hierarchical structures is the asymmetrical uses of Ban-mal and honorific expressions.

학문의 목적이 진리 탐구에 있고, 철학이 존재의 근원에 대해 물어간다는 측면에서 볼 때, 본질이 아닌 실존을 다룬다는 것은 철학의 본래적 의미와 거리가 있다. 그럼에도 실존을 말하는 이유는 현상학의 학문적 목표와 아주 밀접한 관련이 있기 때문이다. 현상학이 철학의 본래성을 회복하고, 엄밀한 학으로서의 철학을 정초하려 했다는 점에서 본질학이기도 하지만, 본질이 실존에서 출발한다는 점은 현상학적 연구에 있어서 간과할 수 없는 사실이다. 본 연구는 전통철학이 추구해왔지만, 놓쳐버린 문제들을 '실존' 의 문제를 고찰하면서 확인하는데 목적을 두고자 한다. 실존은 인간의 세계에 대한 참여이다. 따라서 실존은 세계-에로-존재로 표현된다. 지각된 모든 것은 전체적 통일성으로 파악되므로, 이념적인 본질로 환원될 수 없다. 결국 실존의 문제는 지각의 근원성에서 다시 출발해야 한다. 인간은 사유하는 존재이지만, 행위하는 존재이기도 하다. 여기서 사유한다는 것과 행위한다는 것 중에서 어느 것이 우선인가를 결정하는 것은 사실상 의미 없는 일이며, 문제가 되지 않는 것을 문제 삼는 일에 불과하다. 그러므로 우리는 데카르트의 코기토에 머무르지 않고 코기토가 열어준 문을 통해 열린 세계로 나아가려 한다. 이러한 이유로 본고에서는 실존의 문제를, 현상적 장과 현상적 몸을 중심으로 밝히려 한다.

The existence of an operator-valued function space integral as an operator on $L_p(R) (1 \leq p \leq 2)$ was established for certain functionals which involved the Labesgue measure [1,2,6,7]. Johnson and Lapidus showed the existence of the integral as an operator on $L_2(R)$ for certain functionals which involved any Borel measures [5]. J. S. Chang and Johnson proved the existence of the integral as an operator from L_1(R)$ to $C_0(R)$ for certain functionals involving some Borel measures [3]. K. S. Chang and K. S. Ryu showed the existence of the integral as an operator from $L_p(R) to L_p'(R)$ for certain functionals involving some Borel measures [4].

In this paper, we study the existence of mild solutions for double perturbed impulsive neutral functional evolution equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces. The existence of mild solutions to such equations is obtained by using the theory of the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness and Darbo fixed point theorem, without the compactness assumption on associated evolution system. An example is provided to illustrate the theory.

We give alternative proof of the existence theorem for certain elliptic systems describing competing interactions with nonlinear di usion. The existence of positive solution depends on the sign of the principal eigenvalue of suitable operators of Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger type. If the sign of such operators are both positive, then system has a positive solution. The main tool employed is the fixed point index of compact operator on positive cones.

This paper is concerned with the optimal control problem for the viscous weakly dispersive Benjamin-Bona-Mahony (BBM) equation. We prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solution to the equation. The optimal control problem for the viscous weakly dispersive BBM equation is introduced, and then the existence of optimal control to the problem is proved.

Absolute poverty is redefined as biological existence level poverty and relative poverty is also redefinded as 'the state that relatively insufficient compared to the specific society's average living standard under the condition that basic needs on the biological existence level has been satisfied.' Then absolute poverty and relative poverty lies on the same welfare continuum. Therefore these two can be regarded as one unified concept. Theoretical bottom line of poverty is the biological existence level and ceiling is average income. Poverty line for the social policy is to be drawn between ceiling and floor. Using these standard lines three poverty bands are categorized : minimum subsistence level, minimum decency level.

In this paper, we study the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a singular system of nonlinear fractional differential equations with integral boundary conditions. We obtain existence and uniqueness results of solutions by using the properties of the Green's function, a nonlinear alternative of Leray-Schauder type, Guo-Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem in a cone. Some examples are included to show the applicability of our results.
