Low Calorific Gasturbine 매립지 적용 및 유리온실 운용기술 설계 (Design for Landfill Gas Appliation by Low Calorific Gas Turbine and Green House Optimization Technology)

  • Low Calorific Gas Turbine (LCGT) has been developed as a next generation power system using landfill gas (LFG) and biogas made from various organic wastes, food Waste, waste water and Livestock biogas. Low calorific fuel purification by pretreatment system and carbon dioxide fixation by green house system are very important design target for the optimum applications of LCGT. Main troubles of Low Calorific Gas Turbine system was derived from the impurities such as hydro sulfide, siloxane, water contained in biogas. Even if the quality of the bio fuel is not better than natural gas, LCGT may take low quality gas fuel and environmental friendly power system. The mechanical characterisitics of LCGT system is a high energy efficiency (>70%), wide range of output power (30 kW - 30 MW class) and very clean emission from power system (low NOx). A green house has been designed for four different carbon dioxide concentration from ambient air to 2000 ppm by utilizing the exhaust gas and hot water from LCGT system. LCGT is expected to contribute achieving the target of Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS).

  • 탄산가스 삭감과 자동차 연비를 향상시키기 위한 자동차의 경량화는 현시대적 큰 과제이다. 경량화를 위하여 Hybrid Electrical Vehicle(HEV), Electrical Vehicle(EV)의 고성능 모터용 Nd 자석, Li이온 2차전지 및 배기가스 정화용 PGM촉매의 성능개발이 활성화 되고 있다. 우리나라는 자동차 경량화와 기능 향상을 위하여 사용하는 희소금속을 자원이 편재되어 있는 중국 등에서 수입하기 때문에 수출국의 공급 조절, 가격 폭등 등으로 수급이 불안정한 경우가 있다. 이를 대비하여 차세대 자동차에서 배출되는 폐 희소자원을 리싸이클링 할 필요가 있다. 본고는 리싸이클링 기술과 현상에 대하여 조사 분석한 정보를 기술자나 연구자에게 전해주어 국가 자동차 산업 발전에 기여하는데 목적이 있다. 조사 결과, 폐 자동차에서 배출되는 고성능 모터, 배기가스 정화용 백금족금속(PGM) 폐촉매, Li이온 배터리 등의 리싸이클링기술은 전처리 기술과 후처리 기술로 분류하는데, 전처리 기술인 기계적 분리 선별 기술은 연구 개발 중이며, 후처리기술인 습, 건식 제련 기술은 확립되어 있다. 리싸이클링 경제성 측면에서 폐 부품의 기계적 선별 기술에 대하여 집중적으로 연구할 필요가 있다.

상용 디젤엔진용 산화촉매의 배출가스 저감 특성 (Emission Characteristics of Diesel Oxidation Catalysts for a Commercial Diesel Engine)

  • Recently, as people pay attention to the environmental pollution, the emission of diesel engine has become a serious problem. Diesel Oxidation Catalysts(DOC) were experimentally investigated for the purification of pollutants exhaust emission from the diesel engine. In this study, the conversion efficiency of exhaust gas was investigated with various washcoat materials of the DOC. It was formed that CO conversion efficiency depended on temperature, but THC conversion was dominated by temperature and space velocity. Conversion efficiency of THC and CO increased with the addition of ZSM-5 in the washcoat, whereas these conversion efficiency decreased by adding Nd and Ba additives. $V_2O_5$ additive had the thermal stability for high temperature. Thermal durability of the catalyst was improved as increase of $V_2O_5$ additive.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop venturi type after-burner in order to obtain pollutant reduction effect and find the best stable combustion condition. For this purpose, through a flow analysis, the shape of venturi type was made and flame holder locations were also decided by measuring chemical species at before and after the after-burner. Also, various chemical species concentration were measured at changing the induced air rates and the oxygen for oxygen enrichment for the solution the problems of much oxygen flow rate and the flame stability range. As results of this study, a flow distribution and the purification effect was excellent at venturi contraction 0.5 and flame holder location 12mm below the center of Venturi throat. On the purification characteristics, we found that pollutants reduction was effective when area ratio and oxygen are increased. But there are suitable quantities due to the flame shape change and combustion efficiency.

  • 마이크로 가스터빈의 높은 연료 다양성은 광범위한 범위의 적용처에 적용할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 최근에는 가스터빈 발전시스템의 연료로서, 유기성폐기물의 소화가스와 쓰레기 매립지로부터 발생되는 바이오 가스에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 우리는 매립지 가스를 이용하여 마이크로 가스터빈 열병합 발전시스템의 성능특성 및 운전 특성에 대한 영향을 연구하고 있다. 메탄과 이산화탄소를 동시에 회수하는 공정을 개발하여 현장 실증 플랜트 규모로 시험을 수행하였으며, 유리온실에 농작물의 이산화탄소 고농도 집적을 목적으로 철-킬레이트 화합물을 기본으로 하는 액상촉매를 이용하여 매립지 가스내에 있는 불순물을 저렴한 비용으로 제거하고자 한다. Fe-EDTA(철-킬레이트)를 이용한 내부순환 다판식 기포탑 반응기에 의하여 농축정제와 이산화탄소 제거가 매립지 가스의 최적화 연료화를 추진하였다. 매립지가스의 유량은 0.207 $m^3$/min이고 5.5 kg/$cm^2$의 압력으로 공급되며 메탄농도 70%, 이산화탄소 27%로 공급되도록 농축반응기를 설계하였고 황화수소 99% 제거를 목표로 한다. 유리온실은 마이크로 가스터빈 배가스와 온수를 이용하여 대기중의 이산화탄소 농도에서 1500 ppm의 농도범위로 공급되도록 설계되었다.

  • Bio energy development by using Low Calorific Gas Turbine(LCGT) has been developed for New & Renewable energy source for next generation power system, low fuel and operating cost method by using the renewable energy source in landfill gas (LFG), Food Waste, water waste and Livestock biogas. Low calorific fuel purification by pretreatment system and carbon dioxide fixation by green house system are very important design target for evaluate optimum applications for bio energy. Main problems and accidents of Low Calorific Gas Turbine system was derived from bio fuel condition such as hydro sulfide concentration, siloxane level, moisture concentration and so on. Even if the quality of the bio fuel is not better than natural gas, LCGT system has the various fuel range and environmental friendly power system. The mechanical characterisitics of LCGT system is a high total efficiency (>70%), wide range of output power (30kW - 30MW class) and very clean emmission from power system (low NOx). Also, we can use co-generation system. A green house designed for four different carbon dioxide concentration from ambient air to 2000 ppm by utilizing the exhaust gas and hot water from LCGT system. We look forward to contribute the policy for Renewable Portfolio Standards(RPS) by using LCGT power system.

  • The purpose of this study is to observe the purification characteristics of NOx, CO and HC in various catalysts and excess air ratio conditions. For this purpose, we installed various catalysts on the back stream of the coaxial diffusion burner with swirler. As the result, in the case of NOx, Pt-Rh catalyst shows very high value that is more than 90%-conversion efficiency without the relation with the excess air ratio. After excess air ratio of ${\alpha}=1.14$, it shows that the conversion efficiencies were more than 80% in the every Pt catalyst in the view of conversion of every exhaust with changing of the excess air ratio.

자동차용 M-90 스파크 점화기관의 배기가스 정화특성 (Exhaust gas purification characteristics of M-90 fueled SI engine for passenger car)

  • With the recent interest in methanol as a SI engine fuel, aldehyde emissions have become a greater concern. A M-90 fueled passenger car was operated in a chassis dynamometer using FTP 75 driving cycle to examine formaldehyde emissions. Formation process of aldehyde and methods to reduce them are discussed in this paper for a SI-engine passenger car operating by M-90. Aldehyde emissions have been found to be 3 to 7 times higher from M-90 than from gasoline, while CO, NOx, THC are as low or lower than gasoline. Noble metal compositions appeared to play a role in formaldehyde and unburned methanol emission performance. For example, catalyst Pd showed better reduction of both formaldehyde and methanol than catalyst Pt. however, emission rates of formaldehyde and methanol for catalyst Pt were relatively similar to catalyst Pt/Rh.

  • A few years ago, the rapid degradation of domestic air quality has led to the efforts of exhaust gas policy and fine dust mask, but it is not a fundamental measure. In Korea, photocatalyst will be applied to residential and multi-use facilites to purify indoor and outdoor air. Also, in this study, it is tried to produce exposed concrete that is aesthetically pleasing as well as air purification of indoor by combining with light transparent concrete according to the increasing interest in human indoor living environment. For this purpose, we have developed a block formwork for photocatalysis light transparent concrete and established a suitable manufacturing method for on-site construction.

  • Among the dyeing industries, the tenter process is a process that improves the quality of fibers by drying and ironing (heat treatment) dyed fabrics, and drugs such as water repellents, antistatic agents, and fiber softeners are mainly used in these tenter processes. These drugs are vaporized in the process of treatment by high temperatures (180 ~ 230℃), and are observed in a complex form such as white smoke, oil mist, and fine dust, causing odor. To treat the complex exhaust gas at the rear end of the tenter facility, most companies operate by installing a wet scrubber and an adsorption tower alone or in parallel, but there are many problems. In particular, the insoluble oil mist at the rear end of the tenter has significantly low processing efficiency in the cleaning dust collection facility, and there is a problem in the facility by adsorption due to the occlusion phenomenon caused by the oil mist. In addition, the odor gas at the rear end of the tenter contains a lot of aldehydes, and in order to improve these various problems, a complex exhaust purification device using cyclone and electric support collector was developed. This study examined the applicability of economical and efficient technology by removing complex air pollution at the rear end of the tenter and applying improved technology than the existing technology.
