The relationship between body weight and body image, an objective and subjective measure of body shape, respectively, has long been a recurrent concern in the area of medical sociology and health-related studies. This concern stems from the argument and findings in the literature indicating that the two are not necessarily likely to be strongly correlated due mostly to the fact that one's own idea or conception about his/her body shape could be pretty different from one's actual shape. This study tries to empirically address the two issues based on the analysis of a national sample survey data in Korea: to what extent body weight and body image are correlated with or deviated from each other, on the one hand, and what factors help to account for the relationship between the two, on the other. The latest(2010) national sample data of KGSS(Korean General Social Survey) is used to evaluate the issues. Results of data analysis demonstrate that body weight and image have a moderate amount of correlation, and that the correlation tends to vary to a large extent depending on a few major socio-demographic and socio-economic characteristics. Most important, the risk factor analysis attempted in this study could identify several salient risk factors, which include gender, age, chronic diseases, smoking, physical exercises, and medical checkup. To be precise, those who may be best characterized as particularly risky to weight gains are females, who are in their 20's, who have chronic diseases, non-smokers, who exercise regularly, and who conduct medical checkups on a regular basis. To extrapolate, the findings suggest that the most typically risky kinds of individuals in Korea are "young women who care very much for their health." The findings are interpreted and discussed with suggesting a recommendation for further studies.
Purpose: This study aimed to suggest effective lunge exercise methods for various purposes by comparing differences in the muscle activity of thigh and plantar pressure according to changes in base of support during lunge exercises. Methods: The subjects were 20 college students who agreed to participate in the experiment. They performed three types of lunges-a basic lunge (BL), wide lunge (WL), and narrow lunge (NL). In a static position during each lunge, the muscle activity of the thigh and plantar pressure were measured. Each movement was maintained for 7 seconds, and the muscle activity for the 3 seconds in the middle was measured and analyzed. The plantar pressure was divided into six areas for analysis. The subjects randomly performed the lunges to prevent the influence of an experimental sequence. Each movement was performed three times, and the mean value of the three measurements was analyzed. Results: The analysis of muscle activities in the thigh during the three lunge movements showed statistically significantly higher muscle activity of biceps femoris in WL and NL than BL. Moreover, the analysis of plantar force showed statistically significant differences between BL and WL and WL and NL on the medial-forefoot and medial-midfoot, as well as between BL and WL and BL and NL on the lateral-midfoot. The analysis of plantar contact pressure exhibited statistically significant differences between BL and NL and WL and NL on the medial-forefoot, as well as a statistically significant difference between WL and NL on the medial-midfoot and lateral-hindfoot. Conclusion: This study suggests that changing the base of support during lunges can be useful to suit the purposes of various rehabilitation programs.

Background: Various treatments have been proposed for chronic low back pain (CLBP), but recent guidelines and reviews recommend regular physical exercise. However, some other studies have reported opposite results that sling exercise (SE) and other exercises (OE) did not differ in improving CLBP. Objectives: To systematically review and meta-analyze the effects of SE on CLBP in studies published in Korea. Design: A Systemic Review and Meta-analysis. Methods: Randomized controlled trials comparing SE with OE and modality therapy (MT), published up to June 2020, were identified by electronic searches. Primary outcomes were pain and disability. The weighted mean difference (WMD), stand mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated using a random-effects model. Results: Based on the results of the meta-analysis, SE was effective for pain in the comparison of SE and MT [short-term: WMD=-1.64, 95% CI (-3.06, -0.22); long-term: WMD=-0.34, 95% CI (-0.42, -0.26)]. It was effective for pain in the comparison of SE and OE [short-term: WMD=-1.18, 95% CI (-2.15, -0.20); long-term: WMD=-0.66, 95% CI (-0.89, -0.43)]. It was also effective for disability in the comparison of SE and MT [short-term: SMD=-15.82, 95% CI (-23.10, -8.54)]. We found no clinically relevant differences in disability between SE and OE. Heterogeneity was high in the comparison of SE and overall variables. Conclusion: If SE is applied to physical therapy to improve the main symptoms of CLBP patients, it may contribute to their recovery. More high-quality randomized studies on the topic are warranted.

Purpose : Many studies have confirmed the relationship between physical exercise, chronic diseases, and quality of life, but few of those studies were limited to aerobic exercise. Above all, no research has confirmed the relationship between aerobic exercise and the oral health. This study is significant because it is the first study to confirm the relationship between aerobic exercise, which is practiced more frequently than other exercises, and oral health in adults. Through this study, we hoped to confirm the complex impacts of aerobic exercise on health-related quality of life, oral health-related behavior, and oral health status in adults and to use these impacts as basic data on the importance of aerobic exercise. Methods : In this study, the following analysis was conducted based on a complex sample design that applied stratification variables, cluster variables, and weights using SPSS version 21.0. Complex sample cross-analysis was conducted to identify general characteristics according to aerobic physical activity practice, and oral health-related characteristics according to the aerobic physical activity practice rate. Then, complex sample logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect of aerobic physical activity practice on oral health-related characteristics. During the statistical analysis, missing values were treated as valid values, and the statistical significance level was set at .05. Results : Aerobic physical activity practice was 1.39 times higher among the respondents who brushed their teeth after lunch (p<.001), 1.43 times higher among those who used dental floss (p<.001), 1.24 times higher among those who used mouthwash (p=.040), and 1.37 times higher was among those who had not experienced dental treatment (p=.040), which were statistically significant differences. Conclusion : This study found that when an individual's health status is maintained, positive oral health behavior can be achieved by paying attention to oral health, and this appears to contribute to improving oral health.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of thoracic flexibility exercise on sitting balance, static standing balance, gait parameters, and the fall risk of patients with chronic stroke. The participants were randomized into the control (n=12) and thoracic flexibility exercise groups (n=12). Both groups received standard rehabilitation therapy for 30 minutes per session. The subjects in the experimental group performed additional thoracic flexibility exercises 3 times a week for 6 weeks. The trunk impairment scale, static standing balance, gait speed, cadence, and fall risk were assessed for all the participants before and after the intervention. The thoracic flexibility exercise group showed greater improvement than did the control group on the trunk impairment scale (t=-3.57, p=.002), static standing balance (t=5.37, p<.001), gait speed (t=-3.29, p=.003), cadence (t=-2.77, p=.011), and fall risk (t=6.33, p<.001). Furthermore, the thoracic flexibility exercise group significantly improved all the outcomes compared to the baseline values (P<.05). This study showed that the thoracic flexibility exercise improved the functional ability of patients with chronic stroke.

It is a viewpoint that an organizational concentration would be improved when a capability of the organizational staff will be improved, they would have a targeting capability for sharing organizational goals and vision and a systematic capability would be supported by the dimension of the criminal investigation police. The study was aimed to deduce a developmental method for the criminal investigation police by conducting an analysis on the impact of the organizational capabilities of the criminal investigation police upon organizational concentration that it suggest method that the criminal investigation police will make a contribution for maintaining a social order.

Few studies investigated the effects of nutrition education and exercises in women with osteopenia. This study examined the relationship between changes in dietary intakes and changes in indicators related to bone health in postmenopausal women with osteopenia (-2.5 ${\leq}$ T-score ${\leq}$ 1) after a 12-week intervention. Thirty-one postmenopausal women aged > 50 years residing in Seoul were recruited and participated in nutritional education regarding bone health and general nutrition practices and aerobic exercises (three times a week; 60 min per session). Twenty-five subjects completed the study and were eligible for the analysis. Bone mineral density (BMD) at femoral neck was measured by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry. Serum calcium, osteocalcin, and intact parathyroid hormone (PTH) were also measured. Dietary intake was estimated by using a one-day 24 recall by a clinical dietitian. After 12 weeks, meat consumption increased (P = 0.028) but vegetable intake decreased (P = 0.005). Intakes of animal protein (P = 0.024), vitamin B1 (P = 0.012) and vitamin $B_2$ (P = 0.047) increased, and sodium intake decreased (P = 0.033). Intact PTH (P = 0.002) decreased and osteocalcin (P = 0.000) increased, however, BMD decreased (P = 0.000). Changes in mushroom consumption were positively correlated with femoral neck BMD (r = 0.673, P = 0.003). Changes in animal iron intake were negatively correlated with intact PTH (r = -0.488, P = 0.013) but were positively correlated with osteocalcin (r = 0.541, P = 0.005). These results suggested that the association between animal iron intake and biochemical markers of bone turnover may play an important role in bone metabolism. Further studies are needed to shed light on complicated mechanisms of diet, hormonal levels of bone metabolism, and bone density.

Endurance time is very important indicator to estimate muscle fatigue. In the case of measuring endurance time directly, it is dangerous for subject to perform a test until the point of failure to main time force. Therefore, this paper presents the model to estimate endirance time using indirect measurements such as personal factors and anthropometrical data. Previous studies had shown that personal factors such as gender and age were not related to endurance time, but recently studies have shown that it is estimated by using independent variable or predictor such as GTA (Gravitational Torque of the horizontal, stretched arm) and MVC (Maximum Voluntary Contraction). The present study investigated variables to estimate endurance time using personal factors and anthrometrical data during isotonic contractions. Twenty five healthy subject volunteered for this study, and performed three test sessions of isotonic contraction exercises at 10~50% respectively. Afterward the correlation coefficient and p-values were compared among regression models using personal factors and anthropometrical data. The results demonstrated that multi-regression model had significant coefficient of correlation, and was useful estimate endurance time.
This study applied aquatic and land-based exercises to breast cancer patients for comparative analysis and elucidation of their effects on the rehabilitation of cancer patients. Participants included 40 breast cancer patients who were divided into two groups: 20 participants in the experimental group using aquatic exercise and 20 participants in the control group using land-based exercise. After the addition of aquatic or land-based exercises five times per week for eight weeks, differences in each group's shoulder and pulmonary functions as well as their quality of life were compared and analyzed. The results showed a statistically significant difference (p<.001) for shoulder dysfunction, with the experimental group showing a greater improvement than the comparison group. Statistically significant differences (p<.05 and p<.001, respectively) were also observed for forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), with the experimental group showing greater improvements. Finally, a statistically significant difference (p<.001) was observed for change in the quality of life, with greater improvements in the experimental group than in the control group. The results of further research in this field are expected to indicate the most efficient method for the recovery and management of physical, psychological, and social health impacts of breast cancer on patients. Furthermore, the research aims to provide fundamental resources for breast cancer rehabilitation in South Korea by conducting studies on patients with lung cancer or colorectal cancer and the application of various aquatic exercise methods.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of applying whole body vibration exercise at 30 Hz on the thickness and mechanical properties of the erector spinae. The study population included 24 adults (11 male and 13 female) in the N region. The subjects were divided into two groups, a 30Hz whole body vibration exercise(WG, n=12) and an LSG(12 subjects). Changes in the thickness and mechanical properties of the erector spinae were analyzed before the exercises and after four and eight weeks of exercises using a two-way repeated analysis of variance with a statistical significance level of α=0.05. When there was an interaction between the groups and measurement times, post hoc analyses were conducted at a statistical significance level of α=0.01. The thickness, frequency, stiffness and strain of the erector spinae muscles were significantly different in each time period and in the interaction between time period and the group (P<0.05), and recovery was significantly different only in each time period (P<0.05). Thus, 30Hz whole body vibration exercise had a positive effect on the thickness and mechanical properties of the erector spinae. The results of this preliminary study suggest that whole body vibration exercise may find a place as a lumbar stabilization exercise in clinical practice in the future.
