The absorbance and fluorescence yields of chl-a vs. concentration of n-prOH in diethyl ether, benzene and iso-octane were shown the characteristic point which chl-a structures are changed to monomer by the solvation of oligomer, and the spectral differences of fluorescence excitation between oligomer and monomer were identified by fluorimetry. All the maximum wavelength of absorbance, fluorescence excitation and fluorescence emission were shifted to longer wavelength. The ratios of soret/red band were depended on the band intensions and the polarities of solution in organic solvents mixed with n-prOH.

According to the trends of construction of large size vessel with high power, the natural frequencies of the bending modes of propeller blades have been lower than the past. Therefore, it is expected that the noise and vibration problems of the marine propeller are frequently occurred. As main issue of the propeller noise and vibration problem, the cavitation noise and singing noise due to the flow induced excitation of the bending modes of propeller blade in the high frequency range has been studied by the hydrodynamic researchers in the view point of the excitation force reduction. In this paper, the vibration mode characteristics of propeller with a large diameter in very large vessel are investigated by the vibration analysis of the finite element method using MSC/Nastran and the vibration measurement by the impact test on the propeller blade. According to the results, the natural frequencies of various blade bending modes in water entrained condition could be estimated from the natural frequencies taken by the measurement and free vibration analysis in the dry condition, and it could be estimated how the high frequency noise such as singing is generated from the blade bending modes.

Three methods(the stepped sine method, the statistical method(random excitation method) and the maximum-length sequence(MLS) method) for head-related transfer functions(HRTFs) are experimentally compared in view point of accuracy and efficiency. First, the stepped sine method has high signal-to-noise ratio, but low efficiency. Second, the statistical method is fast measurement speed, but weak to noise than the other methods. Finally, the MLS method shows both good efficiency and high signal-to-noise ratio, but it needs additional software or equipment such as MLS signal generator. For comparison of measurement accuracy, HRTFs of KEMAR dummy are measured for various azimuths and elevations. Error norms for magnitude and phase of HRTFs are defined and calculated for the measured HRTFs. The calculated error norms show that the methods give similar results in magnitude and phase except a little phase difference in the MLS method.

Interior noise in a car is known to have an important influence on product acceptability. This noise is closely correlated with structural-acoustic vibration. When considering noise problem, the structural-acoustic relation of a vehicle cabin model needs to be identified. However, it is very difficult to get the modal parameters of this kind of cabin structure composed of thin plates: because it not only can be excited by the acoustic vibration of cavity, but also tends to have decoupling effects of one plate from another. In order to obtain modal parameters more precisely, various excitation techniques, i.e. impact, pure random, burst random, and swept sine testing are applied for the first step. In the case of the cabin model, impact and swept sine testing show good results. Next, the determination of the excitation point by trial- and-error and the accurate measurements of FRF's are performed with these methods. The modal parameter extraction is carried out for the final step. This paper proposes a new approach to find the modal parameters more reliably in the case of high decoupling effects. That is, the convergence of MIF and MCF in each panel, which provide some criteria for the validity of the obtained modal parameters, is observed. And from those results, the pretty accurate modal parameters can be determined. A comparative assessment between the modal testing and the FEM is also performed.

This paper deals with the procedure for developing a computer program which can predict the pressure fluctuation on the ship hull by solving the boundary value problem on the hull subject to the influence of the unsteady propeller and cavity motions. The program is applied to the solution of flow around a sphere under the influence of point sources simulating the propeller cavity, and then is compared with the analytic solution based on Butler's sphere theorem. The effect of free surface condition, either pressure-free or rigid-wall, upon the pressure distribution is studied. The computer code is also applied to a RO-RO ship, leading to the conclusion that the package may be useful for the analysis of excitation forces on the ship hull induced by the propeller in the design process.
The influence of ground motions on the seismic response of utility tunnels was investigated. A series of small-scale shaking table model tests were carried out under uniform excitation in the transverse direction. Different peak accelerations of EL-Centro and Taft earthquake waves were applied. The acceleration responses, earth pressure, seismic strain, bending moment and structure deformations were measured and discussed. The results showed that the types of earthquake waves had significant influences on the soil-structure acceleration responses. However, the amplitude of the soil acceleration along the depth showed consistent variation regardless of the types of earthquake waves and tunnels. The horizontal soil pressure near the top and bottom slabs showed obviously larger values than those at other depths. In general, the strain response in the outer surface was more significant than that on the inner surface, and the peak strain in the end section of the model was larger than that in the middle section. Moreover, the bending moment at the corner points was much larger than that at middle point, and the bending moment was greatly affected by both input accelerations and seismic wave types. The opposite direction of shear deformation on the top and bottom slabs presented a rotation trend of the model structure.
A certain amount of random vibration excitation to subway track is caused by subway operation. This excitation is transmitted through track foundation, tunnel, soil medium, and ground building to the ground and ground structure, causing vibration. The vibration affects ground building. In this study, the results of ANSYS numerical simulation was used to establish back-propagation (BP) neural network model. Moreover, a back-propagation neural network model consisting of five input neurons, one hidden layer, 11 hidden-layer neurons, and three output neurons was used to analyze and calculate the vertical Z-vibration level of New Capital's ground buildings of Qingdao Metro phase I Project (Line M3). The Z-vibration level under different working conditions was calculated from monolithic roadbed, steel-spring floating slab roadbed, and rubber-pad floating slab roadbed under the working condition of center point of 0-100 m. The steel-spring floating slab roadbed was used in the New Capital area to monitor the subway operation vibration in this area. Comparing the monitoring and prediction results, it was found that the prediction results have a good linear relationship with lower error. The research results have good reference and guiding significance for predicting vibration caused by subway operation.

This paper proposes the fuzzy PI controller for maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic system. The output characteristics of the solar cell are a nonlinear and affected by a temperature, the solar radiation. The MPPT control is a very important technique in order to increase an output and efficiency of the photovoltaic system. The conventional perturbation and observation(PO) and incremental conductance(IC) are the method which finding maximum power point(MPP) by the continued self-excitation vibration, and uses the fixed step size. If the fixed step size is a large, the tracking speed of maximum power point is faster, but the tracking accuracy in the steady state is decreased. On the contrary, when the fixed step size is a small, the tracking accuracy is increased and the tracking speed is slower. Therefore, this paper proposes the MPPT control using the fuzzy PI controller that can be improve a MPPT control performance. The fuzzy PI controller is adjusted a input of PI controller by fuzzy control and compensated a cumulative error of fuzzy control by PI controller. The fuzzy PI MPPT control is compared to conventional PO and IC MPPT method for various temperature and radiation condition. This paper proves the validity of the fuzzy PI controller using these results.
Two types of Tb- and Na-substituted green phosphors $Ca_{(1-1.5x)}WO_4:Tb_x^{3+}$: and $Ca_{(1-2x)}WO_4:Tb_x^{3+},Na_x^+$ were synthesized with various x values, using a solid-state reaction. The former phosphors contained both substitutional and vacancy point defects, while the later had only substitutional defects. X-ray diffraction results showed that the main diffraction peak, (112), was centered at $2{\theta}=28.72^{\circ}$ and indicated that there was no basic structural deformation caused by substitutions or vacancies. The photoluminescence emission and photoluminescence excitation spectra revealed the optical properties of trivalent terbium ions, $Tb^{3+}$. Typical transitions, $^5D_3{\rightarrow}^7F_6,\;^7F_5,\;^7F_4$ and $^5D_4{\rightarrow}^7F_6,\;^7F_5,\;^7F_4,\;^7F_3$, and cross relaxations were observed. Subtle differences in the photoluminescence of green phosphors were observed as a result of the point defects. The FT-IR spectra indicated that some of the ungerade vibrational modes had shifted positions and changed shapes, spreading out over a wide range of frequencies. This change can be attributed to the different masses of $Tb^{3+}$ and $Na^+$ ions and $V_{Ca}$" vacancies compared to $Ca^{2+}$ ions. The gerade normal modes of the Raman spectra exhibited subtle differences resulting from point defects in $Ca_{(1-1.5x)}Tb_xWO_4$ and $Ca_{(1-2x)}Tb_xNa_xWO_4$.
