Leiomyosarcoma of the oral cavity is a very rare tumor that is associated with aggressive clinical behavior and low survival. In this paper, we report a case of leiomyosarcoma presenting with a gingival exophytic mass that rapidly grew, causing facial asymmetry within 16 days, in a 9-year-old boy. After an excisional biopsy, microscopy revealed a spindle cell neoplasm that, on immunohistochemistry analysis, demonstrated reactivity for SMA. This established the diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma; subsequently, a marginal mandibulectomy and supraomohyoid neck dissection were performed.

Osteoid osteoma, a frequent lesions of bone, is usually intraosseous but occasionally subperiosteal. We describe the case of a 19-year-old male with knee pain caused by subperiosteal osteoid osteoma. Radiologic evaluation was performed with radiographic, computed tomography (CT), ultrasonographic (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). But the preoperative diagnosis of osteoid osteoma was delayed because of unusual imaging findings and atypical symptom. After excisional biopsy, histological examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteoid osteoma. The lesion was treated successfully with CT-guided radiofrequency ablation.

Intraneural ganglia in the upper extremity are rare, and the involvement of the digital nerve of hand has not been reported. The following case report demonstrates a 57-year-old woman with a symptomatic nodular mass on the thenar area of the left hand. Magnetic resonance images showed a lobulated, homogeneous mass of high signal intensity on T2-weighted images and low signal intensity with peripheral enhancement on T1-weighted images. Excisional biopsy and histopathologic examination revealed an intraneural ganglion of the digital nerve of the thumb. Her symptom disappeared immediately after the surgery, and has remained free of abnormal sensation and parestheia for the 3-year follow-up period.

In this report, a case of a 70-year-old man with a large ganglion cyst formed after anterior transposition of the left ulnar nerve is presented. Three months after the index surgery, the patient presented with a painless superficial ovoid, soft mass measuring $5{\times}4{\times}2cm$ in size located at the posteromedial aspect of the left elbow, the previously operated site. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a well demarcated cystic mass with a stalk connecting to the elbow joint. Excisional biopsy was performed and pathologic findings showed that the cystic wall had no definite lining cells with myxoid degeneration compatible with findings of ganglion cyst.

Liposarcoma is a malignant tumor originated from adipose tissue, accounting for 20% of all soft tissue sarcomas. A 69-year-old man with anterior and posterior neck mass visited to our department and we performed an excisional biopsy in level I. Histopathological examination revealed liposarcoma, so we performed wide excision in anterior and posterior neck, and adjuvant radiotherapy. We report a unique case of well-differentiated liposarcoma on anterior and posterior neck with literature review. To our best knowledge, such case has not been reported earlier in Korea previously.

Pilomatricoma is a benign tumor arising from the primitive basal cells of the epidermis that differentiate into hair matrix cells. Mutations in the CTNNB1 gene, which encodes β-catenin (a protein involved in hair growth), play an etiological role in the development of pilomatricoma. A 34-year-old woman presenting with a mass in the right parotid region underwent an excisional biopsy. The mass was conclusively diagnosed as pilomatricoma. During pregnancy, the mass grew from 1 cm to 5 cm in diameter and was accompanied by pain and tenderness. The growth may have been facilitated by the increased production of estrogen and progesterone, which bind to receptors located in the outer root sheath cells of the hair follicles. No recurrence was observed during 6 months of follow-up.

Angiokeratoma is a cutaneous vascular disorder that occurs at any sites as trunk,extremities, fingers and toes etc. Although solitary or multiple cutaneous lesions have been reported, oral lesions have been very care. A 72-year-old man who had an exophtic, essile mass with dark red, black colored which located on buccal mucosa, was treated with excisional biopsy. He had no specific systemic history except for the medication of allopurinol, for treatment of gout since 10 years. Final diagnosis was determined as angiokeratoma by evaluation of clinical and histopathological finding, and the lesion has not been recurred for two months by decrease of allopurinol. It has been emphasized that the relationship between oral mucosal disease and the complication of allopurinol. Allopurinol is widely used for gout treatment, which we will report a case on the allopurinol-associated angiokeratoma in the oral mucosa.

Intraoral soft tissue can easily be injured by weak mechanical irritation. Each symptom by irritation is various, but most of patients show chronic inflammatory lesion. The fibroma is the most frequent disease found in intraoral area followed by pyogenic granuloma, epulis fissuratum, palatal papillomatosis, and epulis granulomatosum. The inflammatory hyperplasia by mechnical irritation is easily different from other disease, but this shows similar to several benign and malignant tumors required differential diagnosis. By microscopic feature, the lesions is divided by granulatory stage, mixed stage, and fibrotic tissue stage. The inflammatory hyperplasia is differently treated by each clinical features.: only removal of cause or, and excisional biopsy is/are required. This is the cases report of reactive hyperplasia of intraoral soft tissue by mechanical irritation that suggests various treatments of each cases.

Intramuscular hemangioma is a rare type of hemangiomas and sometimes overlooked by orofacial pain specialist who encountered various types of masticatory muscle problems. A 42-year-old male, presented with feeling of unilateral hypertrophy on left mandibular area, is finally diagnosed as hemangioma with thrombus by excisional biopsy. However, he was initially treated by injection of botulinum toxin A due to misdiagnosis as unilateral masseter hypertrophy. In the present report, we remind the importance of careful examination and diagnostic images to orofacial pain clinicians in early detection of intramuscular hemangioma of masticatory muscles.

서울에 거주하는 36세의 가정주부가 복부의 종류로 인해 내원하였다. 국소마취 하에 복부의 피하지방층에 있는 종류를 제거하여 지름 3 cm정도의 낭과 그 속에 7×4 mm크기의 충체를 얻었다. 이 환자는 생선회를 즐겨 먹은 과거적이 있었으며 충체를 acetocarmine 염색하여 관찰한 결과 폐흡충으로 동정하여 이에 폐흡충중의 이소기생례를 보고하는 바이다.
