  • Effects of excess Pb(50 mole %) on the crystallization properties of amorphous PZT thin films on the glass substrates by post-annealing in oxygen ambient were investigated to lower the crystallization temperature of the PZT thin films with a single perovskite phase. The PZT thin films(350nm) were prepared on Pt/Ti/corning glass(1737) substrates. The PZT thin films and bottom electrode were deposited by RF magnetron sputtering. Crystallization properties of PZT thin films were strongly dependent on RTA(Rapid Thermal Annealing) temperature. We were able to obtain a perovskite structure of PZT at 600$^{\circ}C$ for 10min. After thermal treatments were done, electrical properties such as I-V, P-E, and fatigue were measured.

  • Bismuth lanthanum titanate thin films with excess Bi contents were prepared onto Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrate by metalorganic decomposition (MOD) technique. The structure and morphology of the films were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM), respectively. From the XRD analysis, BLT thin films show polycrystalline structure and the layered-perovskite phase was obtained over 10% excess of Bi contents. As a result of ferroelectric characteristics related to the Bi content of the BLT thin film, the remanent polarization and dielectric constant decreased with increasing over Bi content of 10 % excess. The BLT film with Bi content of 10% excess was measured to have a dielectric constant of n9 and dielectric loss of 1.85[%]. The BLT thin films showed little polarization fatigue test up to 3.5 x $10^{9}$ bipolar switching cycling.

  • The variation of magnetic permeability and dielectric constant and their relationship with microwave absorbing properties are investigated in sintered Ni-Zn ferrite. Toroid specimens of ${(Ni_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}O)}_{1-y}{(Fe_{2}O_{3})}_{1+y}$ ferrites are prepared by conventional ceramic processing technique. The large change in magnetic permeability is observed by the variation of excess $Fe_{2}O_{3}$ in the Ni-Zn ferrites. The more the iron-excess from y=0.04 to y=0.12, the lower value of both $\mu_{r}'$ and $\mu_{r}"$ is observed. However dielectric permittivity increases with the increase of the increase of the excess $Fe_{2}O_{3}$. The control of permittivity is realized by nitrogen sintering atmosphere and excess $Fe_{2}O_{3}$ respectively.

  • 0.75BF-0.25BT ceramics were prepared by sintering at $980-1040^{\circ}C$ in air or under atmosphere powder. A sample with 1 mole %-excess $Bi_2O_3$ was also prepared to compensate for $Bi_2O_3$-evaporation. Physical and piezoelectric properties of these three samples were compared. When the sintering temperature increased from $980^{\circ}C$ to $1040^{\circ}C$, the density of the sample sintered in air decreased continuously due to Bi-evaporation. Due to the suppression of Bi-evaporation, the sample sintered under atmosphere powder had a higher density at sintering temperatures above $1000^{\circ}C$ than did the sample sintered in air. The addition of 1 mole %-excess $Bi_2O_3$ successfully compensated for Bi-evaporation and kept the density at the higher value until $1020^{\circ}C$. Grain size increased continuously when the sintering temperature increased from 980 to $1040^{\circ}C$, irrespective of the sintering atmosphere. When the sintering temperature increased, the piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) and the electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$) increased for all samples. The sample with 1 mole % excess-$Bi_2O_3$ showed the highest density and the best piezoelectric properties at sintering temperature of $1020^{\circ}C$.

  • The Kepler space mission provides quantitative and qualitative photometric time series of oscillating stars. It is possible to examine statistical study with seismic properties of solar-like stars. Global seismic properties - large frequency separation (${\Delta}{\nu}$), frequency of maximum power (${\nu}_{max}$) and amplitude of Gaussian envelope (A) widely have been used to determine empirical scaling relations for inferring the stellar physical quantities - mass, age and temperature. We aim to confirm whether width of Gaussian envelope on power excess (${\delta}{\nu}_{env}$) can be used with parameter of scaling relation before redgiant phase using Kepler data. Therefore we analyze the characteristics of ${\delta}{\nu}_{env}$ of 129 solar-like stars from main-sequence to subgiant. We have demonstrated that ${\delta}{\nu}_{env}$ has highly correlations with global parameters - ${\Delta}{\nu}$ and ${\nu}max$. We have also found the break of ${\delta}{\nu}_{env}-{\Delta}{\nu}$ and ${\nu}_{max}$ relations.

  • We present mid-IR (MIR) and near-UV (NUV) properties of red sequence galaxies defined by optical color-magnitude relation. We use the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) preliminary released data matched with the SDSS DR7/GALEX GR6. The red sequence galaxies with little emission lines show a wide spread of MIR (3.4um-12um) colors, implying a variety of MIR excess emission. We focus on the properties of the red sequence galaxies with MIR excess, comparing the properties of post-starburst galaxies to trace how galaxies migrate to the red sequence.

  • The excess molar volumes of a general anesthetics on Purple membrane and Red membrane separated by extraction in Halobacteriun Halobium and in suspensions of vesicle have been determined at $25^{\circ}C$, it was used a excess volume dilatometer. The anesthesia characteristics of general anesthetics, Propofol was fined by our study to correlate with excess molar volume. Excess volume changes of the vesicle measured by excess volume dilatometer, which is an important amino acid and lipid in the purple membrane and red membrane by means of specific weight in Halobacteriun Halobium, were studied by absorption intensity at 280 nm and 330 nm. The particle size analysis and relative turbidity of Purple membrane and Red membrane by means of Propofol were measured for mechanical properties. In the samples where Propofol is incoporated in vesicle, especially, the excess molar volume of PM + RM + Propofol is the greatest than the excess molar volumes of PM, and RM.

  • This paper reports experimental excess molar volumes $V^E_m$ using a digital vibrating-tube densimeter and excess molar enthalpies $H^E_m$ by means of an isothermal microcalorimeter with a flow mixing cell for the binary mixtures{1,2-dichloropropane + 2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethanol} and {1,2-dichloropropane + 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethanol} at 298.15 K under atmospheric pressure. All the $V^E_m$ and $H^E_m$ of the two binary mixtures showed S-shaped forms, being negative for poor and positive for rich 1,2-dichloropropane mole fractions. These show that the excess properties were shown to be negative deviation from ideality due to the strong self-association effect among 2-(2-alkoxyethoxy)ethanol molecules at an early stage of mixing, a relatively high energy then is needed to break hydrogen bonds of 2-(2-alkoxyethoxy)ethanol with an increase ofhalogenated hydrocarbon molecular at high mole fraction of 1,2-dichloropropane. The values of excess molar properties($V^E_m$ and $H^E_m$) were fitted by the Redlich-Kister equation using Nelder-Mead's simplex pattern search method. The Wilson, NRTL, and UNIQUAC models were used to correlate the $H^E_m$ values.

  • Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 (PZT) thin films were deposited on the Pt/Ti bottom electrode by rf magnetron sputtering method from target containing 5%, 25% and 50% Pb excess for applying ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM). PZT films were deposited at $300^{\circ}C$ and then they were crystallized by rapid thermal annealing (RTA) at $700^{\circ}C$. After RTA treatment, our results showed that all PZT films indicated perovskite polycrystalline structure with preferred orientation (110) and no pyrochlore phase was observed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A well-fabricated PZT film of excess Pb 25% capacitor showed a leakage current density in the order of $2.63{\times}10^{-7}A/cm^2$ at 100kV/cm, a remanent polarization of $3.385{\mu}C/cm^2$ and a coercive field of 41.32 kV/cm. The results showed that Pb excess of target affects to electrical properties of PZT thin film.

  • In the composition of $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ the effect of particle size on PbO vaporization were measured, . The initial step of discontinuous vaporization of unreated PbO during the calcining process was depended on the particle size. All additives $La_2O_3Nb_2O_5$ and $Al_2O_3$ inhibited the grain growth of the composition $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ +2wt% excess PbO. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the composition $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ were improved by the addition of 2wt% excess PbO and proper additive. The electromechanical planar coupling factor of 0.65 and mechnical quality factor of 390 could be obtained by adding 5wt% $Nb_2O_5$ to the composition 2wt% excess PbO+$Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$.
