Realization of electronics with performance equal to established technologies that use rigid semiconductor wafers, but in lightweight, foldable and stretchable formats would enable many new application possibilities. Examples include wearable systems for personal health monitoring, 'smart' surgical gloves with integrated electronics and electronic eye type imagers that incorporate focal plane arrays on hemispherical substrates. Circuits that use organic or certain classes of inorganic electronic materials on plastic or steel foil substrates can provide some degree of mechanical flexibility, but they cannot be folded or stretched. Also, with few exceptions such systems offer only modest electrical performance. In this talk, I will present a new approach to high performance, flexible and stretchable integrated circuits. These systems combine single-crystal silicon nanoribbons with thin plastic or elastomeric substrates using both "top-down" and "transfer-printing" technologies. The strategies represent promising routes to high performance, flexible and stretchable optoelectronic devices that can incorporate established, high performance inorganic electronic materials.
Currently, in Korea, an accident that takes place during a worker's commuting is generally not considered as work-related accident. However, there are several exceptions such as an accident that occurs in commuting while using transportation provided by an employer, an accident that happens during commuting time that can be regarded as part of a business activity (e.g. tending to work instructed by an employer on the way to or from work), and an accident that is caused by insufficient facility management by an employer. It is even more so as the workers' commuting distance increases with expanding scale of a city, and traffic accident occurs more frequent. Social risk of commuting-time accident is on the rise. Under this circumstance, it is an important social issue to explore how to protect workers from commuting-time accident.
This paper deals with contrastive analysis and interlanguage with respect to adjective ordering. It aimed to investigate how similar and different the orders of descriptive adjectives are in English and Korean, and how Korean EFL learners perceive the sequences of English descriptive adjectives. Data were collected from native English speakers and native Korean speakers and Korean EFL learners. The contrastive analysis showed that the order of English adjectives was size, opinion, condition, age, color, shape, material, and origin, whereas the Korean order was condition, age, opinion, color, size, shape, material, and origin. The relative order of the interlanguage was shown to be age, size, opinion, shape, condition, color, origin, and material, with the exceptions of the order of condition preceding age and that of size being the same position as condition. The interlanguage data manifested different aspects of ordering when compared with English and Korean: Some adjective combinations were similar to both English and Korean; Some were different from English or Korean; Some were different from both English and Korean. These ordering patterns are discussed in terms of such principles as the nouniness principle, the subjectivity/objectivity principle, the iconic principle, etc. On the basis of these results, some helpful suggestions are made.

In an English multiple Wh-construction with two wh-words, only a higher-located wh-word in a sentence structure is allowed to pre-pose to the Spec of CP, which has been known as a Superiority Effect(SE). Contrary to English, Korean and Japanese have been known not to respect SE, and this phenomenon has been called an Anti-Superiority Effect(ASE). Recent studies including Takita et al(2007) and Harada(2015) among others, however, have suggested exceptional cases to ASE in Japanese, and attempted to explain them through a feature checking mechanism within the Minimalist Program(MP) by Chomsky(1995, 1998). Such explanations of MP, which are based on the abstract feature checking system, have recently been considered just as a kind of technicalia and should be backed up with further empirical evidence. In this paper, I show that there are also exceptions to ASE in Korean, and the exceptional cases to ASE both in Korean and Japanese can be well explainable based on the empirical evidence of Korean/Japanese morpho-syntax.
JEF-1-based 50-group cross section set for fast reactor calculations was generated using NJOY system. The set was then examined by analyzing measured integral quantities such as criticality and central reaction rate ratios for 27 fast critical assemblies. The calculated results using the new set were also compared with those of ENDF/B-IV or-V-based fast set. In general, the JEF-1-based set shows an improvement in predicting measured integral quantities in comparison with the previous set. With a few exceptions, JEF-1 results are comparable to those of ENDF/B-V.
The validity of Alyavdin-Chujyo's Equation was re-examined over the broader milling conditions that those previously examined. Ordinary ball mill grinding with a laboratory scale batch mill (133mmø×144mm length) were selected as the grinding methods. The results show that in ball milling the Alyavdin-Chunjyo's Equation can be applicable over wide grinding time and size range with few exceptions. The validity of which are examined and discussed. The theoretical consideration of the relation between Alyavdin-Chujyo's Equation and size distributiion equation, such as Rosin-Rammler's law, was tried, and it is found that, under the condition of alyardin-Chujyo's relation, the Rosin-Rammler size distribution law can hold.

In order to promote the domestic aircraft manufacturing industry, this study analyzed the limitations of the preceding study on the WTO dispute concerning civil aircraft by summarizing the latest developments and issues in the mid-range aircraft dispute between Brazil and Canada and the large civil aircraft dispute between the United States and the EU. Based on the results of the study, we should look closely at WTO regulations and existing cases of disputes to find maximum support measures, and we believe that in order to stimulate the domestic aircraft manufacturing industry, we should refrain from publicly specifying support measures in the data, such as laws and policies, utilize the WTO SCM Agreement exceptions, and strengthen links with international cooperation and other industries.
Under awareness of the importance of interaction between local research agencies and farmers in developing local agriculture, this study attempts to analyse the level of interaction in extension services of Experiment Station. The data were collected through the interview with researchers in five Experiment Stations and farmers who have made contact with the researchers. The results of the analysis are as follow: (1) The Experiment Stations are currently providing extension services though they are originally research-oriented agencies. The extension methods of Experiment Stations are similar with those of extension agencies. (2) The more systematic the characteristic of extension service type is, the higher level of interaction is generated with several exceptions which should not be ignored. This study accentuates the efforts to improve the level of interaction as well as to construct a system as a linked set of actors.
This study was to investigate the influence of pH on the antioxidant activity of melanoidins formed from glucose (Glc) and fructose (Fru) with lysine enantiomers in the Maillard reaction. Melanoidins formed from D-isomers were found to be effective antioxidants in different in vitro assays with regard to the ferrous ion chelating activity, 1, l-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazil (DPPH) radical scavenging activities, ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP), and 2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS) radical scavenging activity. In particular, the chelating activity of these melanoidins at a pH of 7.0 was greater than those with pH of 4.0 and 10.0. The chelating activity and DPPH radical scavenging activity of the melanoidins formed from the Glc systems were higher than those of the melanoidins formed from the Fru systems. However, the FRAP and ABTS radical scavenging activity of these melanoidins were not different according to pH level, with exceptions being the Fru systems.
Journal impact factor(JIF) of the ISI has many limitations and exceptions notwithstanding its great publicity. The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics and limitations of IF, and to investigate and analyse research performance evaluation weight of academic faculty in Korea, and to make recommendations for the efficient evaluation criteria for Korean academic journal.
