  • There are a lot of sports when you left the victory and the defeat of the match the referee subjective judgment. In particular, TaeKwonDo pumse How accurate a given action? Is important. Objectively evaluate the subjective opinion of victory and defeat in a sporting event and the technology to keep as evidence is required. This study was implemented a system for recognizing Taekwondo executed through the number of motion recognition device. Step Sensor also used to detect a user's location. This study evaluated the rate matching the standard gesture data and the motion data. Through multiple gesture recognition equipment was more accurate assessment of the Taekwondo action.

Coupled temperature-displacement modeling to study the thermo-elastic instability in disc brakes

  • Macroscopic hot spots formed due to the large thermal gradients at the surface of the disc brake rotor, make the rotor to fail or wear out early. Thermo-elastic deformation results in contact concentration, leading to the non uniform distribution of temperature making the disc susceptible to hot spot formation. The formation of one hot spot event will predispose the system to future hot spotting at the same location. This leads to the complete thermo-elastic instability in the disc brakes; multitude parameters are responsible for the thermo elastic instability. The predominant factor is the sliding velocity and above a certain sliding velocity the instability of the brake system occurs and hot spots is formed in the surface of the disc brake. Commercial finite element package ABAQUS(R) is used to find the temperature distribution and the result is validated using Rowson's analytical model. A coupled analysis methodology is evolved for the automotive disc brake from the transient thermo-elastic contact analysis. Temperature variation is studied under different sliding speeds within the operation range.

  • The advance of wireless telecommunication and observation technologies leads developing sensor and sensor network for serving the context information continuously. Besides, in order to understand and cope with the context awareness based on the sensor network, it is becoming important issue to deal with plentiful data transmitted from various sensors. Therefore, we propose a context awareness system to deal with the plentiful sensor data in a vast area such as the prevention of a forest fire, the warning system for detecting environmental pollution, and the analysis of the traffic information, etc. The proposed system consists of the context acquisition to collect and store various sensor data, the knowledge base to keep context information and context log, the rule manager to process context information depending on user defined rules, and the situation information manager to analysis and recognize the context, etc. The proposed system is implemented for managing renewable energy data management transmitted from a large scale area.

  • This paper highlights the comparison of a proposed methods named adaptive undervoltage load shedding based PTSI techniques for undervoltage load shedding and two previous methods named Fixed Shed Fixed Delay (FSFD) and Variable Shed Variable Delay (VSVD) for avoiding voltage collapse. There are three main area considerations in load shedding schemes as the amount of load to be shed, the timing of load shedding event, and the location where load shed is to be shed. The proposed method, named as adaptive UVLS based PTSI seem to be most appropriate among the uncoordinated schemes. From the simulation result can be shown the Adaptive UVLS based PTSI give faster response, accurate and very sensitive control for the UVLS control technique. This technique is effectively when calculating the amount to be shed. Therefore, it is possible to bring the voltage to the threshold value in one step. Thus, the adaptive load shedding can effectively reduce the computational time for control strategy.

  • This paper presents a monitor positioning algorithm to identify the power quality event source in the distribution system with distributed generations. This algorithm determines the appropriate number of monitors and their locations considering power system topology together with distributed generation. This paper summarizes the guidelines of monitor positioning into five principles and defines the weighting factors according to the principles. To evaluate the adequacy of monitor positioning results, ambiguity indices considering monitor location and system topology are proposed. The optimal number and locations of monitors are determined from optimization routine using the weighting factors and the monitor positioning results are evaluated in terms of ambiguity indices. The algorithm is applied to IEEE 13 bus test feeder and suggests the optimal number and locations of power quality monitors. The proposed approach can realize the expert's knowledge on monitor positioning into a sophisticated automatic computing algorithm.

  • In this paper the application of the Interpolation Damage Detection Method to the numerical model of a suspension bridge instrumented with a network of Micro-Electro-Mechanical System sensors is presented. The method, which, in its present formulation, belongs to Level II damage identification method, can identify the presence and the location of damage from responses recorded on the structure before and after a seismic damaging event. The application of the method does not require knowledge of the modal properties of the structure nor a numerical model of it. Emphasis is placed herein on the influence of recorded signals noise on the reliability of the results given by the Interpolation Damage Detection Method. The response of a suspension bridge to seismic excitation is computed from a numerical model and artificially corrupted with random noise characteristic of two families of Micro-Electro-Mechanical System accelerometers. The reliability of the results is checked for different damage scenarios.

  • Power capacitors are highly reliable equipment due to their completely enclosed configuration. Aging diagnosis system using partial discharge(PD) and acoustic emission(AE) is being highlighted as a research area for degradation of power capacitors. Their dielectric strength can be however reduced due to some stresses such as over-voltage or thermal degradation of the insulation material during their long period of operation. In this paper, it has been developed to express the AE of the EVENT(average amplitude) and HIT(pulse count) according to the source location. And real time measurement of PD signals for aging diagnosis of power capacitors.

Localization Algorithm without Range Information in Wireless Sensor Networks

  • A sensor network is composed of a large number of sensor nodes that are densely deployed in a field. Each sensor performs a sensing task for detection specific events. After detecting this event, location information of the sensor node is very important. Range-based scheme of the proposed approaches typically achieve high accuracy on either node-to-node distances or angles, but this scheme have a drawback because all sensor nodes have the special hardware. On the other hand, range-free scheme provides economic advantage because of no needed hardware even if that leads to coarse positioning accuracy. In this paper, we propose a range-free localization algorithm without range information in wireless sensor networks. This is a range-free approach and uses a small number of anchor nodes and known sensor nodes. This paper develops a localization mechanism using the geometry conjecture (perpendicular bisector of a chord). The conjecture states that a perpendicular bisector of a chord passes through the center of the circle.

  • To predict the fire and smoke hazards of rail car with a evacuation model is essential for achieving life safety of all passengers in the event of fire. Currently, more than 30 different evacuation models are available and expected increasing demand in high population density areas as a metro train station. This paper includes brief history of evacuation models and review some key factors of design egress scenario, these are pre-movement time, egress route, location of fire, overturned carriage, and configuration of rail car. Applying the egress model for rail passenger car, users need to confirm the model's ability of physiological, psychological responses effecting to pre-movement time of individual or crowd unit, representation of complexity of carriage layout, and evaluation of effects of smoke.

  • This paper describes the procedures and results of an acoustic emission testing performed during hydrotest of spherical pressure vessel for propane storage. A computer based multi-channel real time monitoring and source location analysis AET-4900 system was used for AE testing. The vessel was extremely quiet throughout the entire test run and especially 6 to $14.5kg/cm^{2}$, it is normal operating pressure range. After exceeding $14.5kg/cm^{2}$, one of the 20 sections showed the most event in any one section 11 total but there were scattered at different locations. In order to confirm the events seen in horizontal weld line of that section, proof testing was performed with ultrasonics and radiography.
