Because of the e-shopping market consumers now have diverse options to choose when placing their orders, and find it easy to obtain the required information through the Internet. Especially, for consumers, product reviews posted on an e-tailer's website have become more important criteria than such information available elsewhere. Hence, this study investigated the influence of the direction and evaluative contents of online reviews on consumer attitudes toward clothing products. Four types of online reviews based on direction (positive/negative) and evaluative content in review information (objective/subjective) were used in the experimental design. Further, stimulus reviews were developed. Credibility, usefulness of reviews, product preference, and purchase intention were the measured dependent variables in each of the four situations of online review presentations. The results indicated that, overall, positive and objective online reviews resulted in a higher level of consumer attitude. The content in these reviews had a relatively stronger influence than the direction on attitudes toward online reviews. Overall, objective reviews generated a higher level of credibility and usefulness of information than subjective reviews. Regarding subjective reviews, negative information was more related to credibility, whereas positive information was more related to usefulness. Further, positive information had a higher influence than negative information on consumer attitudes.

The purposes of this study were to segment consumer groups by evaluative criteria and to find the differences among the groups in regard to sportswear benefits sought, domestic and imported brand attitudes, and sportswear image preferences. The subjects used for the study were 773 male and female consumers who were residents in Seoul. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, and chi-square test. The results showed that there were two sportswear segments : brand/design-oriented group and function-oriented group. Statistical analyses showed that the two sportswear segments were different in regard to sportswear benefits sought, domestic and imported brands attitudes, sportswear image preferences, and demographics. Brand/design-oriented group sought the benefits of sex appeal/impression improvement, individuality, and conspicuousness, had a more favorable attitude toward imported brands, and preferred a prestigious image. They were relatively younger and had a higher income. In the meanwhile, function oriented group sought a comfort benefit from sportswear, had a more favorable attitude toward domestic brands, and preferred simple and active images. There were more high school graduates and home makers in function-oriented group. The implications of the study were discussed.
The purposes of this study were to classify shopper types by high-school girls' purchasing motivations of color cosmetics and to examine the effects of store evaluative criteria and information sources on store patronage behaviors. A questionnaire was developed based on the previous studies and was administrated to 534 high-school girls living in Busan High school girls were pursuing to cover and white their faces by using color cosmetics. The data was analyzed by factor analysis, chi-square test, cluster analysis, ANOVA, Duncantest, and regression analysis using SPSS 12.0. The results showed that they were classified Covering/whitening pursuing groups, Beauty pursuing groups, and Curiosity/conformity pursuing groups by their purchasing motivations of color cosmetics. High school are girls pursuing to cover and white their faces by using color cosmetics, and are were likely to visit low price specialty stores. This is influenced by their experiences and information from their friends or families. Girls using color cosmetics from their curiosity or conformity were likely to shop in low price specialty stores with a good layout and kind salespersons, while they were likely to use general specialty stores when they wanted to exchange and test cosmetics. These findings may provide useful implications for researchers and marketers related to color cosmetics markets of high school girls.
The purpose of this study is , by analyze the relationship among clothing involvement which is major expanatory variable in the stage of product purchase and consumption, evaluation criteria of housewives, to help to give understanding the concept of involvement and to supply the fundamental data for constructing marketing stratege. The subject of this study was a 510 housewives and the items of study were three such as suit , one piece dress, blouse, skirt , and blue jean, T-shirt. For analyzing data frequency analysis, percent , mean , standard deviation , factor analysis. F-test, Duncan -test , MANOVA, t-test , and Pearson's product -moment correlation coefficient were used. The results are as follows. 1. Clothing involvement was divided into 4 dimensions such as fashion, pleasure, symbolism, and perceived risk. Evaluative criteria had 5 dimensions such as harmony , dignity , practicality , price, and fashion. 2. There was significant difference in the occupaton of working housewives and the expenditure of money on clothing concerning clothing involvement. 3. There was significant difference in items concerning the degrees of importance of each evaluation factor. Harmony was the first important dimension and practicality was the second by housewives. The degree of clothing involvement has a significant positive correlation with the factors of evaluation on each item. Each dimension of clothing involvement had a significant positive correlation with the factors of evaluation.

This study compares fashion leaders and market mavens by examining the demographic characteristics of fashion leaders and market mavens and how they differ in their evaluation of store and shopping related attributes. Data originated from a national consumer mail survey in the United States. The survey included items measuring market mavenism, fashion leadership, store evaluative attributes, and personal information. Responses from 380 consumers were used for data analysis. Female consumers were found to be more active in word-of-mouth activities in general. Young consumers were more inclined to express fashion leadership while age was not related to market mavenism. A lower level of education increased tendencies for both market mavenism and fashion leadership. In terms of store evaluative criteria, the majority of items in the survey were more important as fashion leadership and market mavenism tendencies increased. Interestingly, the need for knowledgeable or helpful salespeople did not increase with fashion leadership tendencies. Also, fashion leaders were interested in easy return of merchandise and were likely to spend more time in the stores. This study sheds important light on how fashion leadership differ compared to market mavenism. By simultaneously examining fashion leadership and market mavenism using a strong sample base, this study provides sound evidence of how consumers interested in fashion may have differing needs for shopping.

The purpose of the study was to develope brand positioning map for ladies' ready-to-wear, to find out evaluative criteria in perception and preference to brands, and to persent the relationship between consumer's characteristics and brand preference. Subjects were selected for the housewives of middle and high socioeconomic classes living in Seoul area. A questionnaire including items of life style, self image, similarity between brands, preference degree to brands, and demographic variables was developed for the empirical study. The questionnaire was administrated to 137 housewives during fall in 1989. Data were analyzed by cluster analysis and multidimensional scaling method. The study had two research problems. The first research problem was to construct a brand perceptual map for ladies' ready-to-wear brands, selected for the study The perceptual map was constructed on the basis of brand similarity scores by multidimensional scaling method. As a result, brands were grouped into 4 clusters, and evaluative criteria for perceptual map were found to be fashionability (classic- fashionable) and familiarity (familiar-unfamiliar). The second problem was to construct a brand preference map for ladies' ready-to-wear brands, selected for the study. The preference map was constructed on the basis of brand preference scores by multidimensional scaling method. As a result, the brands were grouped into 4 clusters and evaluative critiera for preference map were found to be fashionability (unfashionable-fashionable) and image to age (mature-young directed). Also was shown the relationship among self image, age, socioeconomic class, and brand preference. The multidimensional scaling method was found to be useful as well as valid instrument for brand positioning research and the result can be utilized for establishing strategies for ladies' ready-to-wear brands.

The main purposes of this study were to find out the new classification system of the clothing evaluative criteria(CEC), 3nd to clear up the relationshiops of new classification system and the existing classification systems. For this purpose, the existing literatures related with the CEC(the classification system, and the variables) were investigated. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The existing classification systems were 'the intrinsic. non-intrinsic classification', 'the level classification', 'the purchase process classification' The new classification system of the CEC is based on 'the view-point of subjets'. This study was attempted to examine female consumers' cosmetics purchasing behavior of subdivided groups according to cosmetics shopping orientation in cosmetics purchasing and to suggest basic information applicable to marketing. The sample was taken from 698 women who were aged twenties through thirties living in Korea. A total of 400 questionnaires were used in the final statistical analysis using factor analysis, reliability test, ANOVA , Duncan test, and χ²-test. The results of this study were as follows: First, The dimensions of cosmetics shopping orientation were composed of hedonic shopping orientation and utilitarian shopping orientation. Second, Evaluative criteria of internet shopping mall were composed of price and promotion, convenient shopping, reputation. Third, three groups were classified after group analysis of two factors in female consumers' cosmetics shopping orientation: consumers with high hedonic shopping orientation(46.5%), consumers with low hedonic and low utilitarian shopping orientation(29.0%), consumers with high utilitarian shopping orientation(24.5%). Additionally differences of the three groups were examined according to evaluative criteria of internet shopping mall, purchase intention and demographic variables.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop evaluation criteria for conversations about medication and to demonstrate conversational analysis with actual dialogues on medication as examples. Methods: This study was a secondary analysis of qualitative research using conversational analysis which showed functional phases and patterns of dialogue about medication (greeting, identifying the patient, medicating, finishing). Nurse-patient conversations were videotaped and transcribed and 75 conversations were used for analysis. Results: Not all functional phases were showed in the conversations about medication. Therefore, conversations about medication can be considered as incomplete dialogues. The evaluation-criteria were represented in terms of the structure and content of the dialogues. Structural evaluation-criteria were the same as the functional phases, as functional stage is the standard for evaluation. The criteria of evaluation for content suggested 3 domains, content, expression, and interaction with 20 items scored on a Likert-type scale of 5-points. Finally, analysis of actual conversations about medication according to the evaluative criteria were provided. Conclusion: The results provide the basic data to develop educational programs and strategies to improve nurses’ competency in conversation about medication.

The study deals with the problem of the formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills in information environment. The role of reflection as a mechanism of formation of a modern teacher's self-consciousness was cleared up. The technology of formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills was characterized and tested. The main stages of the technology were: a motivational and cognitive stage, a problematic and practical stage, and a reflective and operational stage. The substantiated pedagogical conditions of formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills were adhered. The criterial and evaluative characteristics of the formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills were worked out: components (reflection of personal conformity, reflection of the psychological and pedagogical barriers, reflection of professional growth); criteria (criterion of consistency, criterion of difficulty, criterion of potential); indicators (cognitive-evaluative, value-motivational, activity-creative). The levels of formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills (insufficient level, acceptable level, and optimum level) were determined. The analysis of students' surveys showed the effectiveness and expediency of using the technology of formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills in the process of professional training.
