Tooth transposition is a disorder in which a permanent tooth develops and erupts in the normal position of another permanent tooth. Fusion and gemination are developmental disturbances presenting as the union of teeth. This article reports the nonsurgical retreatment of a very rare case of fused teeth with transposition. A patient was referred for endodontic treatment of her maxillary left first molar in the position of the first premolar, which was adjacent to it on the distobuccal side. Orthopantomography and periapical radiography showed two crowns sharing the same root, with a root canal treatment and an associated periapical lesion. Tooth fusion with transposition of a maxillary molar and a premolar was diagnosed. Nonsurgical endodontic retreatment was performed. At four yr follow-up, the tooth was asymptomatic and the radiolucency around the apical region had decreased, showing the success of our intervention. The diagnosis and treatment of fused teeth require special attention. The canal system should be carefully explored to obtain a full understanding of the anatomy, allowing it to be fully cleaned and obturated. Thermoplastic techniques were useful in obtaining hermetic obturation. A correct anatomical evaluation improves the set of treatment options under consideration, leading to a higher likelihood of esthetically and functionally successful treatment.

Purpose: To evaluate the recent incidence and mortality of and scientific research trends in cervical cancer in Mexican females. Materials and Methods: Data between 2000 and 2010 from the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, and International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of World Health Organization were analyzed, and age-standardized rates (ASRs) were calculated. In addition, scientific research data were retrieved from the Web of Science database from 2003 to 2012, using different terms related to cervical cancer. Results: The incidence rate decreased during last five years, while mortality rates showed an annual decrease of 4.93%. A total of 780 articles were retrieved, and the institutions with the majority of publications were National Autonomous University of Mexico (34.87%), Social Security Mexican Institute (16.02%), and National Institute of Cancerology (15%). The main types of research were treatment, diagnosis, and prevention. Conclusions: The above results show that incidence of cervical cancer decreased over time in Mexico during last five years; similarly, the downturn observed in mortality mainly reflects improved survival as a result of earlier diagnosis and cancer treatment. Also, this article demonstrates the usefulness of bibliometrics to address key evaluation questions and to establish priorities, define future areas of research, and develop cervical cancer control strategies in Mexico.

This study examines the effects of brand belief of a mass offline retailer on the perceived value, attitude, and purchase intention toward the products of emerging fashion designer brands in the context of marketing collaborations between emerging fashion designer brands and a mass offline retailer. We invited 198 adults aged 20 to 59 to an online survey who were asked to read a news article and respond to a questionnaire. The results of structural equation modeling show that brand belief of a mass offline retailer positively influences the perceived value of the products of emerging fashion designer brands. The perceived value also positively influences the attitude toward the products that subsequently enhances purchase intention. The findings suggest that emerging fashion designer brands should strategically select a mass offline retailer as their collaboration partner by considering consumer perceptions of the retailer brand because the brand belief of the retailer may have a halo effect on a consumer evaluation of the products of emerging fashion designer brands.
Epidemiological research has revealed that radiation exposure can cause cataracts. The Korean nuclear regulatory body has proposed the reduction of the occupational dose limit for the lens of the eye from 150 mSv/y to 100 mSv/5y, with an additional limitation of not exceeding 50 mSv/y for a specific year, taking into account the recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection, and the International Atomic Energy Agency. This means that radiation workers should receive the same level of radiation safety for the lens of the eye as for whole-body protection. Korean nuclear power plants (NPPs) are conducting research to establish the radiation protection program for the lens of the eye. In terms of the preliminary results of the implementation of the radiation protection program for the lens of the eye dedicated to Korean NPPs, this review article summarizes the current state of understanding of the regulations, technical guidance, eye lens dosimeters, and radiation field conditions resulting in lens dose.

The growing popularity of the Internet has caused the size and complexity of communications and computing systems to greatly increase in recent years. To alleviate this increased management complexity, novel autonomic management architectures have emerged, in which many automated components manage the network's resources in a distributed fashion. However, in order to achieve effective collaboration between these management components, they need to be able to efficiently exchange information in a timely fashion. In this article, we propose a context dissemination framework that addresses this problem. To achieve scalability, the management components are structured in a hierarchy. The framework facilitates the aggregation and translation of information as it is propagated through the hierarchy. Additionally, by way of semantics, context is filtered based on meaning and is disseminated intelligently according to dynamically changing context requirements. This significantly reduces the exchange of superfluous context and thus further increases scalability. The large size of modern federated cloud computing infrastructures, makes the presented context dissemination framework ideally suited to improve their management efficiency and scalability. The specific context requirements for the management of a cloud data center are identified, and our context dissemination approach is applied to it. Additionally, an extensive evaluation of the framework in a large-scale cloud data center scenario was performed in order to characterize the benefits of our approach, in terms of scalability and reasoning time.

Night-time image quality evaluation is an urgent requirement in visual inspection. The lighting environment of night-time results in low brightness, low contrast, loss of detailed information, and colour dissonance of image, which remains a daunting task of delicately evaluating the image quality at night. A new blind quality assessment metric is presented for realistic night-time scenario through a comprehensive consideration of contrast, texture, and colour in this article. To be specific, image blocks' color-gray-difference (CGD) histogram that represents contrast features is computed at first. Next, texture features that are measured by the mean subtracted contrast normalized (MSCN)-weighted local binary pattern (LBP) histogram are calculated. Then statistical features in Lαβ colour space are detected. Finally, the quality prediction model is conducted by the support vector regression (SVR) based on extracted contrast, texture, and colour features. Experiments conducted on NNID, CCRIQ, LIVE-CH, and CID2013 databases indicate that the proposed metric is superior to the compared BIQA metrics.
This article presents a finite element (FE) model to assess the free vibration and static response of a functionally graded skew magneto-electro-elastic (FGSMEE) plate. Through the thickness material grading of FGSMEE plate is achieved using power law distribution. The coupled constitutive equations along with the total potential energy approach are used to develop the FE model of FGSMEE plate. The transformation matrix is utilized in bringing out the element matrix corresponding to the global axis to a local axis along the skew edges to specify proper boundary conditions. The effect of skew angle on the natural frequency of an FGSMEE plate is analysed. Further, the study includes the evaluation of the static behavior of FGSMEE plate for various skew angles. The influence of skew angle on the primary quantities such as displacements, electric potential, and magnetic potential, and secondary quantities such as stresses, electric displacement and magnetic induction is studied in detail. In addition, the effect of power-law gradient, thickness ratio, boundary conditions and aspect ratio on the free vibration and static response characteristics of FGSMEE plate has been investigated.
Reemerging infectious diseases are infections that had decreased in incidence in the global population and were brought under control through effective health care policy such as vaccination, but more recently, began to resurge as a health problem due to many reasons. Measles, rubella, mumps and pertussis are the examples. Immunization with MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and pertussis vaccine has contributed to marked decrease in measles, mumps, rubella and pertussis incidence worldwide. In Korea, measles and rubella almost disappeared after the introduction of 2 doses of MMR immunization schedule. Recently, these infections have been reemerging in many countries with low vaccination rates and can be introduced again in Korea. However mumps and pertussis outbreaks are reported among fully vaccinated populations. Declining vaccine effectiveness, an increased awareness and surveillance of the disease or improved laboratory diagnostic tools had been suggested as possible causes. For the clinicians, it is difficult to diagnose these reemerging infectious diseases partly because of few experience of typical cases of measles and rubella or partly because of modification of clinical symptoms and signs of infectious diseases in immunized population. In this article, the diagnosis of measles, mumps, rubella and pertussis will be reviewed in the aspects of clinical characteristics, serologic methods, virus isolation, and polymerase chain reaction.

In the current study, the authors propose a method for extracting license plate regions by means of a neural network trained to output the plates center of gravity. The method is shown to be effective. Since the learning pattern presentation positions are defined by random numbers, a different pattern is submitted to the neural network for learning each time, which enables it to form a neural network with high universality of coverage. The article discusses issues of the optimal learning surface for a license plate revered by the learning pattern, the effort of suppression learning of the number and headlight sections, as well as the effect of learning pattern enlargement/reduction and of concentration value conversion. Results of evaluation tests based on pictures of 595 vehicles taken at an underground parking garage demonstrated detection rates of 98.5%.
Recommender System based on the Collaborative Filtering has a problem of trust of the prediction accuracy because of its problem of sparsity. If the sparsity of a preference value is large, it causes a problem on a process of a choice of neighbors and also lowers the prediction accuracy. In this article, a change of MAE based on the sparsity is studied, groups are classified by sparsity and then, the significant difference among MAEs of classified groups is analyzed. To improve the accuracy of prediction among groups by the problem of sparsity, We studied the improvement of an accurate prediction for recommending system through reducing sparsity by sorting sparsity items, and replacing the average preference among them that has a lot of respondents with the preference evaluation value.
