  • Explosion and fire cause about 30 reported industrial major accidents a year by ignition source which discharge of electrostatic generated to flammable gas, vapor, dust and mixtures. It brings economically and humanly very large loss that accident was caused by fire and explosion from electrostatic discharge. Thus, it is very important that electrostatic discharge energy is to be control below not to be igniting flammable mixtures. There are two kinds of analysis model for electrostatic discharge, human body model and machine model. Human body model is available the parameter of human's electrical equivalent that capacitance is 100 pF, resistance is $1.5k{\Omega}$. To simulate and visualize the electrostatic discharge from human body need a very expensive and high voltage simulator. In this paper, we measured the value of capacitance and resistance concerned with test materials and sizing of specimen and the value of charged voltage concerned with test specimen and distance to develop an electrostatic charge/discharge simulating tool for teaching with which concerned industrial employee and students. The result of experiments, we conformed that the minimum ignition energy of methane-oxygen mixtures meets well the equation $W=1/2CV^2$, and found out that the insulating material and sizing of equivalent value having human body mode are the poly ethylene of 200 mm and 300 mm of diameter. Developed electrostatic charge/discharge simulating tool has many merits; simple mechanism, low cost, no need of electric power and so on.

  • In this study, the models described in the textbooks related to floating and sinking phenomena in the chemical domain were evaluated based on the aspect of nature related to the generation of models. To achieve this, we were targeting statement of textbooks from 7th curriculum to 2009 revised curriculum. Analysis of textbooks was performed for science of elementary school (total 2 textbooks) and science of middle school (total 21 textbooks) which dealt with these phenomena. According to the textbooks analysis, characteristics of statement way were (1) No description of the model's prerequisites, (2) Statement based matter viewpoint, (3) Lack of pattern principle, (4) Inadequacy of the case covered. Although the education about the model for the students should be preceded by the education related to the process of model creation rather than the activity using the model, the education about the nature of the model is insufficient. In order to solve this problem, we propose the model statement in textbooks and the development of the model evaluation tool related to model creation.

  • An informatization evaluation is becoming a major issue among vocational colleges, as the 21th century begins. This century is characterized as Knowledge and Information era. Thus it is popular for administrative organizations to use Information Technologies as major tool to innovate themselves. The main objective of this study is develop evaluation indexes on applications of information technologies for vocational colleges because they must operate their education services by using management principles. Four major indexes were recommended to evaluate their information environment of educational service as follows. 1. Strategic Information System 2. Environmental Factors of Information System 3. Informational Resources 4. Utilization of Information Technologies Each index has 4 variables to identify the level of informatization and every variable is consisted of several questions. Such an evaluation system will be applied for vocational colleges to know their own situation of IT application and to develop managerial strategies by using IT. This system also will be useful to compare you with your potential competitors and to find appropriate polices of IT application by measuring the indexes at different points of time.

  • In this paper, we present a performance evaluation agent based on fuzzy cluster analysis and validity measures. The proposed agent is consists of three modules, fuzzy cluster analyzer, performance evaluation measures, and feature ranking algorithm for feature selection step in CAD system. Feature selection is an important step commonly used to create more accurate system to help human experts. Through this agent, we get the feature ranking on the dataset of mass and calcification lesions extracted from the public real world mammogram database DDSM. Also we design a CAD system incorporating the agent and apply five different feature combinations to the system. Experimental results proposed approach has higher classification accuracy and shows the feasibility as a diagnosis supporting tool.

  • Xenograft models of human cancer play an important role in the screening and evaluation of candidates for new anticancer agents. The models, which are derived from human tumor cell lines and are classified according to the transplant site, such as ectopic xenograft and orthotopic xenograft, are still utilized to evaluate therapeutic efficacy and toxicity. The metastasis model is modified for the evaluation and prediction of cancer progression. Recently, animal models are made from patient-derived tumor tissue. The patient-derived tumor xenograft models with physiological characters similar to those of patients have been established for personalized medicine. In the discovery of anticancer drugs, standard animal models save time and money and provide evidence to support clinical trials. The current strategy for using xenograft models as an informative tool is introduced.

  • Although various methods have been tried to measure the safety culture of firms, they are limited to derive the qualitative analysis results according to the subjective criteria that are not formalized according to the evaluation method. We developed a questionnaire that can be applied to a combined power plant, quantified the evaluation results using the system dynamics model based on the results, and conducted simulation through various scenarios. And to present the criteria for safety cultural policy.

  • In this research, the physical education training quality was investigated using the entropy model to compute variance associated with a random value (a strong tool). The entropy and undefined estimation principles are used to extract the greatest entropy of information dependent on the index system. In the study of tennis motion tracking from a dynamic viewpoint, such stages are utilized to improve the perception of the players' achievement (Lv et al. 2020). Six female tennis players served on the right side (50 cm from the T point). The initial flat serve from T point was the movement under consideration, and the entropy was utilized to weigh all indications. As a result, a multi-index measurement vector is stabilized, followed by the confidence level to determine the structural plane establishment range. As a result, the use of the unascertained measuring technique of information entropy showed an excellent approach to assessing athlete performance more accurately than traditional ways, enabling coaches and athletes to enhance their movements successfully.

  • Surface damage due to subsidence is an inevitable consequence of underground mining, which may be immediate or delayed for many years. The surface damage due to abandoned underground mine is observed to be two subsidence types such as simple sinkhole or trough formation to a large scale sliding of the ground from with in the subsided area. An evaluation of the risk of a subsidence occurrence is vital in the areas affected by mining subsidence. For a subsidence prediction or a risk evaluation, there has been used various methods using empirical models, profile functions, influence functions and numerical models. In this study, a simple but efficient evaluation method of subsidence hazard is suggested, which is based on a diffusion theory and uses just information about geometry of caving and topography. The diffusion model has an analogous relationship with granular model which can explain a mechanism of subsidence. The diffusion model is applied for the evaluation of subsidence hazard in abandoned metal and coal mines. The model is found to be a simple but efficient tool because it needs information of geometry of caving and gangway and the topography.

  • This paper investigates the potential of a hybrid model which combines the least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) and an improved particle swarm optimization (IMPSO) techniques for prediction of concrete compressive strength. A modified PSO algorithm is employed in determining the optimal values of LSSVM parameters to improve the forecasting accuracy. Experimental data on concrete compressive strength in the literature were used to validate and evaluate the performance of the proposed IMPSO-LSSVM model. Further, predictions from five models (the IMPSO-LSSVM, PSO-LSSVM, genetic algorithm (GA) based LSSVM, back propagation (BP) neural network, and a statistical model) were compared with the experimental data. The results show that the proposed IMPSO-LSSVM model is a feasible and efficient tool for predicting the concrete compressive strength with high accuracy.
