Purpose: The study has planned to find out the perceived social support of the families with pneumoconiosis patients. Method: The subjects of the study were the 300 family care givers of the pneumoconiosis patients who were hospitalized in Taeback, Donghae and Jeongsun Occupational Medical Center. The Social Support Survey Instrument developed by Park(1985) was adopted. Results: The Direct Perceived Supports showed statistically differences by the age(F=1.70 p=0.01) and the state of the disease(F=3.09 p=0.027) of the patients. The Health Situation Centered Support was different by the marietal situation(F=2.29 p=0.48) of the pneumoconiosis patients. The Indirect Perceived Supports were statistically different by sex(t=3.76 p=0.043) and relation with the patient (F=2.49 p=0.048), group joining(t=3.79 p=0.042) of the family care givers. The DPSs were statistically different by family income(F=2.25 p=0.025), family authority(F=2.81 p=0.031) and health insurance status(F=2.13 p=0.026). Recommendation: It is recommended to develop an active social support program at the pneumoconiosis care centers for the middle aged female family care givers of the pneumoconiosis patients with the support of Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Health and Welfare and other NGOs of pneumoconiosis.

In this paper, we present a novel system to categorize web image search results using emotional concepts and to browse the results more conveniently and easily. The proposed system can categorize search results into 8 emotional categories based on emotion vector, which obtained by color and pattern features. Here, we use Kobayashi’s emotional categories: {romantic, natural, casual, elegant, chic, classic, dandy and modern}. With search results for a given query, the proposed system can provide categorized images for each emotional category. With 1,000 Yahoo! search images, we compared the proposed method with Yahoo! image search engine in respect of satisfaction, efficiency, convenience and relevance with a user study. Our experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A female patient (14 years-old) with mental retardation was scheduled for ambulatory general anesthesia to treat peri-apical abscess and multiple dental caries. She had got cleft palate plasty at 5 years, but there was no past history of difficulty airway during general anesthesia or airway obstruction. Following induction of anesthesia using an inhalational anesthetic technique, conventional naso-tracheal intubation was tried. However, with conventional intubation technique we could not insert tube. And following several trial of intubation with laryngoscope, she developed an upper airway obstruction. Her lungs could not be ventilated using a facial mask and oxygen saturation was decreased. A #3 laryngeal mask airway (LMA) was inserted immediately, which allowed us to ventilate her lungs and restore the oxygen saturation. And dental treatment was carried out under LMA insertion successfully.

본 논문은 BCI 시스템을 이용하여 동물의 뇌 신호를 분석하고 온라인 상에서 인간과 동물이 상호 게임이 가능하도록 사운드 윈도우 시스템을 설계한다. 게임에 참여하기 위하여 컴퓨터 모니터를 이용한 인간의 시각적인 참여와는 달리 동물은 시각적 방법이 아닌 다른 방법을 제안해야 한다. 동물이 게임과 상호작용을 하기 위해서 사운드 윈도우 시스템은 게임에 사용될 지형의 크기에 따른 위치 정보와 게임 상황에 따른 소리를 각각 사상하여 소리를 이용한 가상공간을 구축하고, 게임에 참여할 동물이 공간에 제약을 받지 않도록 동물의 목에 헤드셋을 착용하여 블루투스로 신호를 전달하여 소리를 출력하는 방법을 사용한다. 본 논문은 사운드 윈도우 시스템을 이용하여 인간 대 인간, 인간 대 컴퓨터 간의 기존의 게임방식을 동물이 참여하는 새로운 컨텐츠를 제공한다.

$^{67}Ga$ scintigraphy has been used in the evaluation of sarcoidosis, particularly for delineating sites of involvement and grading activity. Three patients admitted in SNUH between Jan. 1986 and Jun. 1987 were diagnosed as sarcoidosis after clinical examination and $^{67}Ga$ scintigraphy. $^{67}Ga$ scintigraphy disclosed increased uptake of radioactivity in both hilar region, mediastinum, both lacrimal glands and parotid glands prior to treatment. In one case after prednisolon therapy, there was definit improvement of clinical findings and $^{67}Ga$ scintigraphy was normalized.

A new series comprising 7 analogs of N-(sulfanyl ethanoyl)-L-HSL derivatives, 2 analogs of N-(fluoroalkanoyl)-$_L$-HSL derivatives, N-(fluorosulfonyl)-L-HSL, and 2,2-dimethyl butanoyl HSL were synthesized using a solid-phase organic synthesis method. Each of the 11 synthesized compounds was analyzed using NMR and mass spectroscopies, and molecular modeling studies of the 11 ligands were performed using SYBYL packages. Thereafter, a bacterial test was designed to identify their quorum-sensing inhibition activity and antifouling efficacy. Most of the synthesized compounds were found to be effective as quorum-sensing antagonists, where antagonist screening revealed that 10 among the 11 synthesized ligands were able to antagonize the quorum sensing of A. tumefaciens.

A novel triterpene saponin (1). deapioplatycoside E ［3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-(1$\rightarrow$6)-$\beta$-D-gluco- pyranosyl-(1$\rightarrow$6)-$\beta$-O-glucopyranosYI-2$\beta$.3$\beta$.16$\alpha$.23.24-pentahydroxyolean-12-ene-28-oic acid 28-O-$\beta$-D-xylopyranosyl-(4$\rightarrow$1)-$\alpha$-L -rhamnopyranosyl-(1$\rightarrow$2)-$\alpha$-L -arabinopyranoside］ including seven known saponins (2-7) was isolated from the water extract of the roots of Platycodon grandoflorum (Campanulaceae). The chemical structure of 1 was determined based on the spectral and chemical evidence. (omitted)

Persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy (PHHI) characterized by severe hypoglycemia caused by inappropriate over secretion of insulin is the most common cause of hypoglycemia in early infancy. The symptoms of hypoglycemia in neonate and infancy are neonatal sepsis, respiratory difficulty, tachypnea, apnea, cyanosis, and seizure. Especially the recurrent and severe hypoglycemia within $1^{st}$ year of life is responsible for severe and irreversible brain damage. To prevent it aggressive treatment is required. Due to severe and irreversible brain damage these children frequently require anesthesia during imaging procedures such as MRI or during various dental surgical procedures. Because of frequent hypoglycemia and dental phobia in children with neurologic disorder, anesthesiologists should pay attention to patient. We report a successful anesthetic management in a patient with PHHI for dental procedures.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify the characteristics of occupational accidents by work type among municipal sanitation workers. Methods: The original data of occupational accidents in 2009 by Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency were analyzed by frequency and percentage using the SAS Version 9.1. Results: The types of occupational accident were as follows: slips and trips, falls, musculoskeletal disorders, traffic accident, collision, amputation, cut & puncture, crush injuries, strenuous movement and drop/fly. Slips and trips occurred most frequently in domestic waste collection and street sweeping. The traffic accident showed the highest incidence in food waste collection. Falls occurred most frequently in recycling waste collection. Musculoskeletal disorders showed the highest incidence in large waste collection. Conclusion: Depending on the work type, types of occupational accident were different. The results of this study can provide the information for the development of the occupational accident prevention programs of municipal sanitation workers.

La/sub 2/3-x/Li/sub 3x/□/sub 1/3-2x/TiO₃ compounds with x=0.13 and 0.12 were prepared by slow cooling (x=0.13) and rapid quenching (x=0.12) into the liquid nitrogen after sintering at 1350℃ for 6 h. Their crystal structure has been determined by Rietveld refinement of both the powder neutron and X-ray diffraction data. From neutron diffraction data, we found that the main phase was not tetragonal (P4/mmm), but trigonal (R3cH). The refinement of neutron diffraction for the slow cooled samples were in a good agreement with a new model; a mixture of trigonal (R3cH, 45.7 wt％), tetragonal (p4/mmm, 37.0 wt％), and Li/sub 0.57/Ti/sub 0.86/O₂(pbnm, 17.2 wt%), but the quenched sample was found not to contain tetragonal (p4/mmm). X-ray diffraction data couldn't be well fitted because of the Poor scattering factor of lithium ions and the similar reflection patterns among trigonal (R3cH), tetragonal (p4/mmm), and cubic (Pm3m). We also knew that one transport bottlenecks is destroyed by one La vacancy in the case of trigonal (R3cH).
