  • Background: With ageing and growing importance of disease management system, it is necessary to investigate the extent of regional difference in service utilization for chronic diseases among the elderly and to reflect it in designing the system. Methods: A multiple regression analysis and descriptive statistics analyses were employed using patient survey, which covers nationwide health facilities and their users. Results: While the differences in the rate of service utilization/utilization outside living area between urban and rural areas or between income levels are not large, considerable variations are observed within urban or rural areas and within income groups. Conclusion: This results suggest that it is important to subsidize economically disadvantaged segments of the population and residents of less-favored areas to be better-equipped for chronic disease management in order to prevent the development of severe ailments and the need for treatment at higher-level medical institutions. Improvements to the service infrastructure in vulnerable regions are essential.

  • Statement of problem : Today's market economy has been changed more and more to consumer concerned. It is owing to not only consumers ' rising standard of living and education, but also purchasers' easy accessibilities to products through various mass media. The consumer centered market system, where customer can choose items with diverse alternatives to satisfy their self esteem, is also applied to the field of medical business, and accelerated by an increasing income level of shoppers and introducing the whole nations' medical insurance system. Today, the medical industry has become competitive due to increasing number of medical institutions and medical personnel, and this offers wide choices to consumers in the medical market place. At this point of time, it is essential to survey on the primary factor of gratification for the patient in the Dental clinic, as well as on the problems and suggestions in medical service. Purpose : The analysis in this study shows essential factors and expected influential elements in satisfaction of the patient in the Dental Hopsital, and strategic suggestions for the provider of dental service, which can be of benefit to the prospective customer as well as can make improvement in the quality of dental treatment service. • Purpose: As emergency medical service fund is further expanded due to amendment of the law on emergency medical services in 2008, Korean government has prepared to intervene in a comprehensive manner to strengthen a trauma treatment system. As a result, it announced a master plan to establish a serious trauma treatment center in 16 areas across the nation. Therefore, this study has attempted to investigate the current status of the serious trauma treatment centers and suggest the goal and improvement plan of future serious trauma treatment centers. Methods: As of 2011, Korea operates 23 emergency cerebrovascular service centers, 23 emergency heart disease centers and 35 severe trauma treatment centers across the country. 12 emergency medical service centers have been chosen among the serious trauma treatment centers. Then, top six (6) centers chosen at Emergency Medical Institute Assessment 2011 by Ministry of Health and Welfare have been selected, and floor layout and spatial allocation by usage have been reviewed and analyzed. Results: Consequently, this study has investigated the spatial components, circulation layout and spatial allocation of a serious trauma treatment. For construction planning in consideration of the fundamental objectives and goal of emergency medical services, it is essential to allot spaces and select exact spatial components. It appears that it is necessary to design spaces for emergency medical services and come up with construction planning through appropriate spatial allocation.

  • Recently medical service environment, the clinical information exchange which contribute to medical safety, promotion of service quality and patient's convenience, efficiency of medical procedures and medical management is essential medical service model. But, practical exchange of clinical information which variation of information level, absence of standardization system, build of heterogeneous information systems is difficult in each medical institute. In this paper, We analyzed the related technical standardizations and the models of clinical information exchange. So, we designed the clinical information exchange system based on the ideal lazy response model which is aimed at vitalizations the exchange of clinical information under domestic law environment. In case of exchange the clinical information, we separate CDA document flow from metadata flow. As a experimental result we acquired 24% improved performance compared with existed system based on the lazy response model.

  • It is essential to record maxillomandibular relationship accurately for the harmony of esthetic and function in complete denture. Gothic arch tracing visually demonstrates the movement of the mandible, and is useful to establish accurate and reproducible centric relation. Proper retention and stability of complete denture in patients with severe alveolar bone resorption is difficult to attain. In such case, the closed mouth impression technique might be recommended. The denture border and impression are determined by patient's physiologic movement in the closed mouth impression technique. And, denture peripheral border is entirely closed with oral mucous membrane. This report presents satisfactory complete denture restoration using closed mouth impression technique and gothic arch tracing in patients with mandibular condyle fracture and severe absorption of mandibular alveolar ridge.

  • Implant placement in the anterior region is performed in several stages, and harmonization of both hard and soft tissues is essential. In addition, adequate esthetic and functional evaluations are necessary in the process of transitioning from the provisional to the final prosthesis to attain patient satisfaction. Although gingiva can be molded in the anterior region, depression in the occlusal view can yield good results through the augmentation procedure. However, the harvesting of connective tissue from the palate is not suitable for various reasons, such as postoperative discomfort and intraoperative bleeding. Compared to the palatal area, the harvesting of connective tissue from the maxillary tuberosity can easily result in relatively thick tissue and quick healing of the donor site, thus proving to be a good modality for graft procedures. The purpose of this report is to examine the relevant evidence from previous studies and evaluate the process of soft tissue augmentation through a case presentation.

  • The review of known decisions showed that currently there are no systems and technologies for supporting the decision about the possibility of concluding the civil law agreements for medical, therapeutic and dental services. The paper models the decision-making support process on the possibility of concluding the civil law agreements for medical, therapeutic and dental services, which is the theoretical basis for the development of rules, methods and system for supporting the decision about the possibility of concluding the civil law agreements for medical, therapeutic and dental services. The paper also developed the system for supporting the decision about the possibility of concluding the civil law agreements for medical, therapeutic and dental services, which automatically and free determines the possibility or impossibility of concluding the corresponding civil law agreement for the provision of a corresponding medical service. In the case of formation of a conclusion about the possibility of concluding the agreement, further conclusion and signing of the corresponding agreement takes place. In the case of forming a conclusion about the impossibility of concluding the agreement, a request is made for finalizing the relevant agreement for the provision of the relevant medical service, indicating the reasons for the impossibility of concluding the agreement - missing essential conditions in the agreement. After finalization, the agreement can be analyzed again by the developed system for supporting the decision.
