  • The O-RAN Alliance is responsible for defining the technical and testing specifications of open radio access networks, aiming for openness, virtualization, and intelligence in these networks. Recently, the application of Korea Open Testing and Integration Center (OTIC) to this alliance has been approved, enabling the issuance of O-RAN certificates and badges. An OTIC plays a crucial role as a testing facility in performing conformance verification and interoperability tests for O-RAN functions and interfaces. In addition, it enables end-to-end system verification adhering to O-RAN principles and processes. These activities can substantially contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of domestic O-RAN products and activating the corresponding ecosystem. We comprehensively describe the O-RAN certification and badging processes. Additionally, we analyze end-to-end test cases that are essential for the proper deployment and operation of 5G systems including O-RANs.

  • This study analyzed the impact of direct and indirect subsidies on profitability in general hospitals in Korea. The data were collected from medical institution accounting information disclosure system of 270 general hospitals from 2016 to 2018. The analysis index used the ratio of net profit to business revenue for profitability, and Subsidies index the ratio of subsidies to business revenue(state subsidies for facility investment purposes, Fund related to essential business, research revenue and contribution revenue). According to the study, the ratio of state subsidies, which are direct subsidies, was very high at 57.30 percent for public institution hospitals. ratio of Fund related to essential business, which is a tax reduction effect with indirect subsidies, had the highest at 6.69 percent for Private University Hospitals. which are Indirect subsidies for deficit or operational assistance, research revenue ratio had the highest 2.8 percent for National University Hospitals, contribution revenue ratio had the highest 36.4 percent for public institutions. As a result of looking at the impact of subsidies on profitability, Nation University Hospitals had the lower the ratio of Fund related to essential business and the ratio of research revenue, the higher the net profit ratio of Business revenue. Medical Corporation Hospitals and Foundation Hospitals had the higher the ratio of Fund related to essential business to business revenues, the higher the net profit ratio of business revenue. These results mean that profitability may fluctuate depending on the utilization of funds related to essential business.

  • In this study, we evaluated environmental-friendly disease control methods using essential oils, antagonistic bacteria, or cooking oil and egg yolk mixture (COY). Among the five tested plant essential oils, Eucalyptus approximans oil shown the highest effect to control of the downy mildew disease (60% disease control value). Interestingly enough, well known antagonistic bacteria against various fungal pathogens were appeared lower control efficiency than plant essential oils. In field conditions, the cooking oil and yolk mixture (COY) treatments shown significantly decreased the downy mildew incidence with 0.3% (disease conttrol value 84%) and 0.5% concentration (disease control value 91%). Our findings suggest that the COY has a great potential as the eco-friendly downy mildew disease control formulation.

  • Increasing discovery cases of underground storage facilities made of earth, wood, or stone are being reported from the recent excavation survey of the Baekje relics. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to examine the structure and function of the underground storage facilities of Baekje following a classification made by the type and building method as follows: plask shape, wooden box shape, and stone box shape. The plask shape storage is the most representative underground storage of Baekje that has been found in numerous relics more than 600 sets around Hangang(Han River) and Geumgang(Geum River) from the Hansung period to Sabi period in Baekje Dynasty. It is a historical artefact as a part of the unique storage culture of Baekje around Hangang and Geumgang from the 3rd to 7th Century. Considering its structure and the example of Chinese one, it might had been used for a long-term storage of grains and various other items including earth wares. The storage facility in wooden box shape and stone box shape are found mostly in the relics Of Sabi period. Thus it might had taken some functions of the storage in traditional pouch shape which had decreased after the 6th Century. In particular, the wooden box shape and stone box shape storage required enormous labor force to build owing to their structure and building method. Thus, they were considered to had been used for official purposes in province fortress and citadel artefact. The wooden box shape storage facility is classified into flat rectangular type and square type based on the structure, and into Gagu type(架構式) and Juheol type(柱穴式) based on the building method. It might had been decided according to the geography and geological feature of the place where the storage was to be built. Considering the examples of Gwanbuk-ri relics and Weolpyong-dong relics, the wooden box shape storage facility might had been used for various items depending on the needs, including foods such as fruits and essential provisions at the military base. Considering the long-term food storage, the examples in Japan, and the functional characteristics of the underground storage facility, there is a possibility that the wooden and stone box shape storage facilities had been built so as to safely store important items in case of fire. This study is only a rudimentary examination for the storage facility in Baekje. Thus further studies are to be made specifically and comprehensively on the comparison with other regions, distribution pattern, discovered relics and artefacts, and functions.

  • The deterioration of Korean traditional wooden house located in seoul was estimated. This house was attacked by termite. To estimate damage status of buildings, non-destructive methods were applied. Some of the post needed to be replaced due to low strength, estimated by nondestructive methods. The house was installed with boiler heating facility, to use office and public education. This kind of heating system changed the environmental condition of the wooden house. The termite which attacked the house was classified as Reticulitermes speratus. Because of durability of wooden house effected by environment, control of the environmental condition is essential for maintaining the wooden house. The installation of modern facility to traditional wooden house should not change the traditional structure and do not effect to durability of wooden house.

  • Recently, as the environment issue has been stand out, people's interests in energy consumption of the building have been increased as well. Especially, university has been classified as the one of the main causes of excessive energy consumption. Therefore, domestic and foreign universities are trying to build a green campus in an attempt for sustainable development. Since early 2000s, foreign universities have been aware that one of the main causes of global warming is an excessive consumption of energy in universities. Accordingly, they adopted various energy management programs for the conservation. Ultimately, enforcing energy conservation and using alternative energy resulted in lower expense and it was a great help for the universities. On the other hand, excessive consumption of energy in domestic universities has been considered as serious, which led them to become the second main energy consumers in 2010. However, it seems people do not truly recognize the impotance of energy management, therefore, relatively little attention has been paid to this matter. Based on Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design(LEED) rating systems for on-campus building operation and maintenance, this research suggests the evaluation standard to effectively analyze the energy management activity with the best practices conducted in foreign universities and to solve the problem of campus facilities management in domestic universities. The result shows that domestic universities do not have a designated task force for effective energy management and the lack of energy professionals hinders for the long term development. Therefore, domestic universities should recognize the seriousness of the excessive energy consumption and develop low carbon green campus through proactive management practices since this is very essential for domestic universities to get more competitive in this global era.

  • Optimizing energy usage for maximum efficiency is an essential goal for manufacturing plants in every industrial manufacturing sector. The generation and distribution of purifying compressed air is a large expense incurred in practically all manufacturing processes. Not only is the generation and treatment expensive equipment of compressed air, but frequent maintenance and effective operation is also required. As a plant's compressed air system is often an integral part of the production process, it needs to be reliable, efficient, and easy to be maintain. In this paper, we study to find operating method to save energy from the adsorption dryer in the process of purifying compressed air, which is required for a clean room production site in "A" company. The compressed air passes through a pressure vessel with two "towers" filled with a material such as activated alumina, silica gel, molecular sieve or other desiccant material. This desiccant material attracts the water from the compressed air via adsorption. As the water clings to the desiccant, the desiccant particle becomes saturated. Therefore, Adsorption dryer is an extremely significant facility which removes the moisture in the air $70^{\circ}C$ below the dew point temperature while using a lot of energy. Also, the energy consumption of the adsorption dryer can be varied by various operating conditions (time, pressure, temperature, etc). Therefore, based on existing operating experiments, we have searched operating condition to maximize energy saving by changing operating conditions of the facility. However, due to a short experiment period (from September to October), further research will be focused on considering seasonality.

  • In order to prevent aspiration pneumonia, oral hygiene care is important; thus proper tips for oral hygiene care should be distributed among hospitals and care facilities for elderly. Malpractice of oral hygiene itself may cause aspiration pneumonia. For efficient and effective oral hygiene care, engagement of professionals such as dentists or dental hygienists is essential. At the point where necessity of systemized dental $professionals^{\circ}{\phi}$ involvement at care facilities for elderly is being emerged, it is important to determine less risky approaches for oral health care tailored to elderly. Among many approaches, oral health care practice without usage of water is considered safe, reducing risk of possibility of aspiration. Since this practice is quite easy to implement, many dental professionals may utilize it when practiced at care facilities for elderly.

  • Purpose: Regional public hospitals have implemented functional reinforcement projects, and the facilities to accommodate them have increased in size. Nevertheless users in hospital are concerned about space shortage and area imbalances. Therefore I will trace the factors and trends that influence the size, and derive the relationship between these and the uses' critical opinion. Methods: Among the indicators for determining the size of medical facilities, the number of beds and total floor area are the essential indicators that directly affect the composition of space and allocation of area inside the medical facility. The purpose of this study is to investigate the change and the factors of change on the these two indicators in regional public hospitals and analyze the trend of changes. Results: In accordance with support undertaking, regional public hospitals have been increased the number of chronic-based beds and expanded additional facilities such as O.P.D specialized centers, emergency centers and funeral homes for reflecting the needs of the regions and times. However, as a result of analyzing the area, regional public hospitals are growing in size mainly on the ward and O.P.D is only expanded the scope of functional reinforcement division but total area level of O.P.D is lower than the recent level. In addition, the levels of D&T, Supply, mechanical/electrical equipment area related to medical support and control environment quality are very low. This is because the functional reinforcement projects have been done without concerning diagnose the whole facility. Implications: If functional reinforcement projects are conducted, to cope with problems of space shortage and imbalance of area, it is judged that an architectural planning that comprehensively analyzes existing facilities and related departments should be included.
