Heliostat, as a mirror system tracking the sun's movement, is the most important subsystem determining the efficiency of solar thermal power plant. Thus the accurate sun tracking performance under the various hazardous operating condition, is required. This study presents a methodology of development of the solar ray tracing technique and the application of it in the analysis of sun tracking error due to the heliostat geometrical errors. The geometrical errors considered here are the azimuth axis tilting error and the elevation axis tilting error. We first analyze the geometry of solar ray reflected from the heliostat. Then the point on the receiver, where the solar ray reflected from the heliostat is landed, is computed and compared with the original intended point, which represents the sun tracking error. The result obtained shows that the effect of geometrical error on the sun tracking performance is varying with time(season) and the heliostat location. It also shows that the heliostat located near the solar tower has larger sun tracking error than that of the heliostat located farther.

In this paper, channel error characteristics are investigated to alleviate the channel error propagation problem of the digital TV transmission systems. First, error propagation problems, which are mainly caused by the inter-frame dependancy and variable length coding of the MPEG-2 baseline encoder, are intensively analyzed. Next, existing channel resilient schemes are systematically classified into two kinds of schemes; one for the encoder and the other for the decoder. By comparing the performance and implementation cost, the encoder side schemes, such as error localization, layered coding, error resilience bit stream generation techniques, are described in this paper. Also, in an effort to consider the parcticality of the real transmission situation, an efficient error detection scheme for a decoder system is proposed by employing a priori information of the bit stream syntas, checking the encoding conditions at the encoder stage, and exploiting the statistics of the image itself. Finally, subsequent error concealment technique based on the DCT coefficient recovery algorithm is adopted to evaluate the performance of the proposed error resilience technique. The computer simulation results show that the quality of the received image is significantly improved when the bit error rate is as high as 10$^{-5}$ .

In this paper, we propose a blind equalization algorithm based on the error signal linearly combined a constellation-matched error (CME) and a non-constellation-matched error (non-CME). The new error signal was designed to include the non-CME term for reaching initial convergence and the CME term for improving intersymbol interference (ISI) performance of output signals, and it controls the error terms through a combining factor. By controlling the error terms, it generates an appropriate error signal for equalization process and improves convergence speed and ISI cancellation performance compared to those of conventional algorithms. In the simulation for 64-QAM and 256-QAM signals under the multipath channel and additive noise conditions, the proposed method was superior to CMA and CMA+DD concurrent equalization.

Ns-2 is a proven simulator which is widely utilized to evaluate the performance of wired and wireless network. Ns-2.33 version introduced the extended version including the modules which the core functions of existing 802.11 PHY and MAC layer are implemented. However, if the error rate, one of most important parameters to evaluate a performance of wireless network, is applied to the extended version, the simulation is ceased with several fatal errors. Furthermore, a packet error is detected and discarded on MAC layer in the traditional protocol architecture, but there is the problem which can't identify information about a packet with error by processing packet error on PHY layer in this version. In this paper, we modify the extended version to resolve the above mentioned problems. And also we perform ns-2 simulation using the modified version on the IEEE 802.11p based vehicular ad-hoc networks, and then analyze effects of error rate.

In this paper, we propose a short-term power forecasting method by applying Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) neural network to Internet of Things (IoT) power meter. We analyze performance based on real power consumption data of households. Mean absolute error (MAE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), mean percentage error (MPE), mean squared error (MSE), and root mean squared error (RMSE) are used as performance evaluation indexes. The experimental results show that the GRU-based model improves the performance by 4.52% in the MAPE and 5.59% in the MPE compared to the LSTM-based model.
In this paper, design of an error model is presented in which the bias characteristic of the MEMS IMU is taken into consideration for performance enhancement of the MEMS IMU-based GPS/INS integrated navigation system. The drift bias of the MEMS IMU is modeled as a 1st-order Gauss-Markov (GM) process, and the autocorrelation function is obtained from the collected IMU data, and the correlation time is estimated from this. Prior to obtaining the autocorrelation function, the noise of IMU data is eliminated based on wavelet. As a result of simulation, it is represented that the parameters of error model can be estimated correctly only when a proper denoising is performed according to dynamic behavior of drift bias, and that the integrated navigation system based on error model, in which the drift bias is considered, provides more correct navigation performance compared to the integrated navigation system based on error model in which the drift bias is not considered.
Performance analysis is very important to transmit the high quality information and to construct the optimal system for the minimze the noise from the channel of spread spectrum system. In this paper the error rate performance is analyzed with computer simulation in noncoherent frequency hopping M-qry frequency shift keying(FH/MFSk) systems with regard to thermal noise under the partial band jamming environments. AS a result, in case the thermal noise is disregarded, bit error probability of system in jamming fraction ρ and Eb/Nj(bit energy to jamming power density) is reduced with the increase of K and in worst case 32FSK system is better than 2FSK system by 3.23dB with the variatio of Eb/Nj. In case thermal noise is considered, bit error probability of system by 3.23dB with the variation of Eb/Nj. In case thermal noise is considered, bit error probability of system are reduced with the increase of K and Eb/No(bit energy to thermal noise density). Bit error probability in connection with worst case ρ is not largely influenced form over the 14dB to K=1 and 8dB to K=5 accordingly thermal noise disregarding. These results may be useful for avoiding the common vulnerabilities when the spread spectrum system is designed.

Reliable multicast data transmission in a 1:N environment needs more sophisticated error control mechanism than that of in 1:1 environment due to ACK implosion and duplicated retransmission. Although there have been many related research on error control in reliable multicast, real implemented protocols are rare. As one of the reliable multicast transport protocols, ECTP is selected as an international standard reliable multicast protocol by ITU-T and ISO and implemented on RedHat 7.2 machine by us. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of the error control mechanism in the respect of throughput and generated control packet numbers with a real implementation code. From the results, it is concluded that the suitable values of error control parameters can be obtained from the local group size and network environments.

An approach to improve the performance of SDINS and GPS integrated system for bank-to-turn flight vehicles is described. Then, it is shown through the simulation that a specific gyro misalignment error results in an increased heading error of SDINS. A new modelling method is presented herein for identifying of sensor and attitude error. The main advantage of the proposed method is that it not only estimates the gyro misalignment error of SDINS, but also improves estimate performance of heading error of SDINS in the presence of the gyro misalignments.

eLoran is enhanced Loran-C and eLoran is researched for as GPS backup system because this system is resistant to signal interference and has high accuracy. TOA measurements of eLoran include errors proportional to the range such as PF, SF, ASF and EF. Therefore these error factors must be compensated for improved accuracy of position. Generally, error models or GPS aided compensation methods are used, but these methods are limited by lack of infrastructure or system performance. Therefore, this paper proposes new model of error factors included in eLoran TOA measurements and navigation algorithm using this model. Error factors in this model are sum of a certain size of error and error proportional to the range. And feasibility and performance of proposed navigation algorithm are verified by using raw measurements.
