Mathematical formulas for multi-dimensional isolation analysis via vibrational power transmission can be derived in a rather simple form when the wave effects of the isolators are completely neglected. With increase of frequency range of interest, however, the wave effects play a very important role and hence cannot be neglected. The formulas get involved accordingly. In this study, a method of equivalent stiffness modeling of the isolators to include the wave effects is proposed in such a way that not only the complexity of the mathematical expressions but also that of experiments of necessity can be reduced. This method is illustratively applied to a two-dimensional vibration isolation system with nonrigid source and base structures.
The purpose of this paper is to show that lexical equivalency in translation can be achieved when it is based on semantic prosodies of lexical items. This paper examines the semantic prosodies of two seemingly synonymous English adjectives ‘empty’ and ‘blank’ on the basis of the corpus given in Cobuild English Collocations on CD-ROM and proposes that they are different in terms of spatial dimensions. Thus when a Korean equivalent pin derived from the verb pita is translated into English, syntagmatic phraseological environments of the Korean adjective must be taken into account to attain the equivalency of the source and target languages. Relevant Korean corpus was taken from the 21st Century Sejong Plan (2002). Out of 12 examples of pin konggan, five appear to be equivalent to ‘blank’ and seven to ‘empty.’ The five to seven ratio in different usage indicates that the equivalency problem concerning the lexical item pin is not a trivial matter in translation.
General steady state equivalent circuits are derived for the family of single phase motor having two windings with non-quadrature. First, the fundamental voltage equations of motor are derived by Faraday-Krichhoff's low in the fiew of the flux distribution in the modified motor with Kron primitive machine. Those equations are arranged in to f-b equations by transformation matrix. To using the above equations for circuit; 1) The concept of current-source was much help to sove the realtions between matrix impedance equation and circuit analysis 2) The simplification of the circuit to the mutual impedance matrix elements is easy to considerations of motor characteristics in the case of inserted external auxiliary winding impedance. Finally, this equivalent circuit showing as a single phase induction motor with quadrature winding is described by each conditions.
Three phase full bridge rectifier has been used to obtain dc voltage from three phase ac voltage source. The rectifier system has drawbacks that power factor is low and power flow is unidirectional. Therefore, when dc voltage increases due to regeneration of power the dynamic resister for dissipation of regeneration power must be installed. But three phase PWM converter can be controlled to operate with unity power factor and bidirectional power flow. Therefore when the PWM converter is used as do supply system, the dissipating resistor is not necessary. On this thesis, in order to design a controller having good performance, the hee phase PWM converter is completely modeled by using circuit DQ-transformation and thus a general and simple instructive equivalent circuit is obtained; the inductor set becomes a second order gyrator-coupled system and three phase inverter becomes a transformer as well. Under given phase angle(${\alpha}$) and modulation index(MI) of the three phase inverter, the dc and ac characteristics are obtained by analysis of the transformed equivalent circuit The validity of the equivalent circuit is confirmed through PSPICE simulation. And based on the dc and ac characteristics a controller with unity power factor is proposed.

This paper presents a new time-stepping 3-D analysis method coupled with an external circuit with motion equation for dynamic transient analysis of induction machines. In this method, the magneto-motive force (MMF) generated by induced current is modeled as a passive source in the magnetic equivalent network. So, by using only scalar potential at each node, the method is able to analyze induction machines with faster computation time and less memory requirement than conventional numerical methods. Also, this method is capable of modeling the movement of the mover without the need for re-meshing and analyzing the time harmonics for dynamic characteristics. From comparisons between the results of the analysis and the experiments, it is verified that the proposed method is capable of estimating the torque, harmonic field, etc. as a function of time with superior accuracy.
For use of the thermal cycle of the biochemical fluid sample, the isothermal temperature source with a large surface area was designed, fabricated and its thermal characterization was experimentally evaluated. The comprehensive overview of the technology trend on the temperature control devices was detailed. The large surface area isothermal temperature source was realized by using the vapor chamber heat spreader. The cost-effectiveness and simple manufacturing process were achieved by using the metal-etched wick structure. The temperature distribution was quantitatively investigated by using IR temperature imaging system at equivalent temperatures to the PCR thermal cycle. The standard deviation was measured to be within 0.7$^{\circ}C$ for each temperature cycle. This concludes that the presented isothermal temperature source enables no temperature gradient inside bio-sample fluid. Furthermore it can be applied to the cooling of the electronic devices due to its slimness and low thermal spreading resistance.
Generally, ground-source heat pump (GSHP) systems have a higher performance than conventional air-source systems. However, the major fault of GSHP systems is their expensive boring costs. Therefore, it is important issue that to reduce initial cost and ensure stability of system through accurate prediction of the heat extraction and injection rates of the ground heat exchanger. Conventional analysis methods employed by line source theory are used to predict heat transfer rate between ground heat exchanger and soil. Shape of ground heat exchanger was simplified by equivalent diameter model, but these methods do not accurately reflect the heat transfer characteristics according to the heat exchanger geometry. In this study, a numerical model that combines a user subroutine module that calculates circulation water conditions in the ground heat exchanger and FEFLOW program which can simulate heat/moisture transfer in the soil, is developed. Heat transfer performance was evaluated for 3 different types ground heat exchanger(U-tube, Double U-tube, Coaxial).

The compensation strategy of shunt active power filters is one of the most important link that determine its compensation characteristics. In this paper, a new interpretation of the instantaneous reactive power theory in three-phase circuits was proposed. A compensation strategy (ip, iq mode) was introduced on the basis of the new interpretation. This compensation strategy was compared with other two compensation strategies(P, q mode and UPF mode). When source voltage is distorted, a sinusoidal, the three compensation strategies are equivalent to each other. When source voltage is distorted, a sinusoidal source current may result only by using ip, iq mode. This is the advantage of ip, iq mode. The result is verified by simulation.
Acoustic emission signals due to leak from circular holes of 0.4, 1, 2 and 4mm diameter and rectangular slits of different geometry having the same cross section as 4mm diameter hole was studied both analytically and experimentally. Acoustic emission signals from a wide-band type transducer were transformed to digital signals through a digital oscilloscope, and $V_{rms}$ and frequency spectrum were obtained by processing digital signals. Relationships between acoustic parameters and fluid mechanical parameters were derived analytically. A quadrapole aerodynamic model was applied in the analysis of leak from the circular holes and $V_{rms}$ was found to be proportional to the root square of leak rate through the circular hole. A modified model based on dipole source mechanism and laminar equivalent diameter was applied in the analysis of leak signals from the rectangular slits. In the case of constant pressure, $V_{rms}$ increased as the laminar equivalent diameter of slit decreased. In the case of constant laminar equivalent diameter, however the result was similar to that for leak from the circular hole. The frequency spectra of leak signals shows the same frequency characteristics irrespective of the pressure difference.rence.
