Calculations of chemical equilibrium for multicomponent aqueous systems of the HyBRID dissolution of magnetite were performed by using the HSC Chemistry. They were done by using a Pitzer-based aqueous solution model with the recipe of raw materials in experiments conducted at KAERI. The change in the amounts of species and ions and the pH values of the solution at equilibrium was observed as functions of temperature and raw amount of CuSO4. Precipitation of Cu2O occurred at a large amount of CuSO4 added to the solution, while no precipitation of Cu(OH)2 was found at any amounts of CuSO4. The E-pH diagrams for Cu were constructed at various Cu concentrations to provide the effect of the Cu concentration on the pH values at boundaries where the coexistence of Cu+ ion and Cu2O solid occurred. To prevent Cu+ ions from being precipitated to Cu2O, the raw amount of CuSO4 should be adjusted so that the pH value of the solution from the equilibrium calculation is less than that from the E-pH diagram. We provided guidelines for the raw amount of CuSO4 and the pH value of the solution, which prevent the formation of Cu2O precipitates in the HyBRID dissolution experiments for magnetite.

In this paper, we investigate a market equilibrium in multi-channel sharing cognitive radio networks (CRNs): it is assumed that every subchannel is orthogonally licensed to a single primary user (PU), and can be shared with multiple secondary users (SUs). We model this sharing as a spectrum market where PUs offer SUs their subchannels with limiting the interference from SUs; the SUs purchase the right to transmit over the subchannels while observing the interference limits set by the PUs and their budget constraints. The utility function of SU is defined as least achievable transmission rate, and that of PU is given by the net profit. We define a market equilibrium in the context of extended Fisher model, and show that the equilibrium is yielded by solving an optimization problem, Eisenberg-Gale convex program.
The single-scattering optical properties of ice crystals in cirrus clouds by the aircraft measurement data were investigated, and the radiative equilibrium temperatures and radiative fluxes were calculated and analyzed by radiative convective model with the variations of ice crystal habits and sizes in cirrus clouds. The homogeneous cloud is assumed to be in the layer 200~260 hPa with an ice crystal content of $10gm^{-2}$ for the flux calculation. The profiles of temperature, humidity, and ozone typical of mid-latitude summer are used. The surface albedo is assumed to be 0.2 for all spectral bands and the cosine of solar zenith angles is 0.5. The result of radiative equilibrium temperature at surface was less than surface temperature of the standard atmosphere data in case of smaller effective ice crystal size and larger optical thickness. The column, aggregation and plate in 6 ice crystal habits were the most effective in positive greenhouse effect and bullet-4 was the worst in it. At the surface, the maximum difference of equilibrium temperature by 6 kinds of ice crystal habits were about 3~15 K with 30 sample aircraft measurement data.

The main aim of the present article is numerically to investigate the micro-scale heat transfer phenomena in a silicon microstructure irradiated by picosecond-to-femtosecond ultra-short laser pulses. Carrier-lattice non-equilibrium phenomena are simulated with a self-consistent numerical model based on Boltzmann transport theory to obtain the spatial and temporal evolutions of the lattice temperature, the carrier number density and its temperature. Especially, an equilibration time, after which carrier and lattice are in equilibrium, is newly introduced to quantify the time duration of non-equilibrium state. Significant increase in carrier temperature is observed for a few picosecond pulse laser, while the lattice temperature rise is relatively small with decreasing laser pulse width. It is also found that the laser fluence significantly affects the N 3 decaying rate of Auger recombination, the carrier temperature exhibits two peaks as a function of time due to Auger heating as well as direct laser heating of the carriers, and finally both laser fluence and pulse width play an important role in controlling the duration time of non-equilibrium between carrier and lattice.

Dynamic spectrum sharing is a key technology to improve spectrum utilization in wireless networks. The elastic spectrum management provides a new opportunity for licensed primary users and unlicensed secondary users to efficiently utilize the scarce wireless resource. In this paper, we present a game-theoretic framework for dynamic spectrum allocation where the primary users rent the unutilized spectrum to the secondary users for a monetary profit. In reality, due to the ON-OFF behavior of the primary user, the quantity of spectrum that can be opportunistically shared by the secondary users is limited. We model this situation with the renewal theory and formulate the spectrum pricing scheme with the Bertrand game, taking into account the scarcity of the spectrum. By the Nash-equilibrium pricing scheme, each player in the game continually converges to a strategy that maximizes its own profit. We also investigate the impact of several properties, including channel quality and spectrum substitutability. Based on the equilibrium analysis, we finally propose a decentralized algorithm that leads the primary users to the Nash-equilibrium, called DST. The stability of the proposed algorithm in terms of convergence to the Nash equilibrium is also studied.

The purpose of this research was to provide fundamental data required for the process design of conveying, storage and processing of food powders. Potato starch, corn starch, wheat protein, soybean protein, and model food powders prepared by mixing potato starch and wheat protein were selected and their sorption characteristics such as equilibrium moisture content, monolayer moisture content, and sorption enthalpy were determined. Equilibrium moisture content and monolayer moisture content of high starch powders were higher than those of high protein powders, and the equilibrium moisture content decreased with temperature. The determination coefficients of the regression equations to predict the equilibrium moisture content of food powders were from 0.997 to 0.999. Sorption enthalpy experiments indicated that powder of high moisture content showed lower sorption than that of low· moisture content, and the high protein powder showed lower sorption than high starch powder.
Molar cyclization equilibrium constant (K$_{x}$) of poly(alkylene terephthalate) (PAT) cyclics was calculated by the Monte Carlo simulation on the basis of rotational isomeric state (RIS) model. The experimental $K_{x}$ of PAT cyclics, which was not clearly explained by the Jacobson-Stockmayer theory and the method of Flory, Suter, and Mutter however, was explained well by the direct computational method with the reaction radius ${\gamma}$=0.5 < ${\gamma}^{2}$> $^{1/2}$. The effect of PAT conformation on $K_{x}$ of PAT cyclics was investigated by changing its statistical weight parameters, ${\sigma}_{1}$ and ${\sigma}_{2}{\cdot}K_{x}$ of PAT cyclics obtained by the direct computation method with various radii and the radius ${\gamma}$=0.5 < ${\gamma}^{2}$> $^{1/2}$ was slightly changed with ${\sigma}_{1}$ and ${\sigma}_{2}$. Consequently, it was concluded that $K_{x}$ of PAT cyclics is strongly dependent on the configuration of each PAT and affected by the change of its conformation to some extent.

The combustion temperature in gas generator should be kept below around 1,000K to avoid any possible thermal damages to turbine blade by adopting either fuel rich or oxidizer rich combustion. Thus, non-equilibrium chemical reaction dominates in the gas generator. Meanwhile, Kerosene is a compounded fuel mixed with various types of hydrocarbon elements and difficult to model the chemical kinetics. This study focus to model the non-equilibrium chemical reaction of kerosene/LOX with detailed kinetics developed by Dagaut using PSR(Perfectly stirred reactor) assumption. Also, droplet evaporation time is taken into account by calculating for the residence time of droplet and by decoupling reaction temperature from the reactor temperature. In Dagaut’s surrogate model for kerosene, chemical kinetics of kerosene consists of 1592 reaction steps with 207 chemical species. The comparison of calculation results with experimental data could provide very reliable and accurate numbers in the prediction of combustion gas temperature, species fraction and other gas properties.

River restoration or rehabilitation should be conducted in a way to maximize the channel stability with natural river configuration close to the equilibrium condition considering divers aspects of fluvial hydraulics, erosion and sedimentation, fluvial geomorphology, and ecological environment and to minimize the maintenance work. Therefore, the channel stability evaluation for present condition based on the equilibrium channel concept should be preceded for the river restoration project. Methods for equilibrium channel theory have generally been developed following either analytical regime theory or empirical regime theory. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the stability of present channel condition for the section of abandoned channel restoration in Cheongmi Stream using the Stable channel Analytical Model (SAM) and equilibrium hydraulic geometry equations. The results of analytical and empirical regime theories should provide fundamental and essential information to design the stable channel geometry. As a calculation result of Copeland's method for the study reach, the equilibrium channel has a narrower channel width, deeper water depth, and more gentle slope than the present channel geometry. As results of equilibrium hydraulic geometry equations, predicted equilibrium widths are less than the channel width in the field. It is represented that the current bed slope must be gentle to reach the equilibrium condition according to the results of Julien and Wargadalam method.
A cooperative model is presented to enable sharing of the spectrum with secondary users. Compared with the optimal model and competitive model, the cooperative model could reach the maximum total profit for secondary users with better fairness. The cooperative model is built based on the Nash equilibrium. Then a conceding factor is introduced so that the total spectrum required from secondary users will decrease. It also results in a decrease in cost which the primary user charges to the secondary users. The optimum solution, which is the maximum total profit for the secondary users, is called the collusion state. It is possible that secondary users may leave the collusion state to pursue the maximum of individual profit. The stability of the algorithm is discussed by introducing a vindictive factor to inhabit the motive of deviation. In practice, the number of secondary users may change. Adaptive methods have been used to deal with the changing number of secondary users. Both the total profit and fairness are considered in the spectrum allocating. The shared spectrum is 11.3893 with a total profit of 65.2378 in the competitive model. In the cooperative model, the shared spectrum is 8.5856 with the total profit of 73.4963. The numerical results reveal the effectiveness of the cooperative model.
