  • This study aimed to examine the differences in gender equality consciousness between latent profiles based on corporate workers' organizational culture types. To achieve the study's purpose, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and latent profile analysis (LPA) were conducted using 253 Korean corporate workers' data. As a result of the analysis, the latent profiles of organizational culture recognized by corporate workers were classified into 5 profiles. We named each profile as high compete-low create culture, high compete-low collaborate culture, collaborate culture, high create culture, and high control culture based on each profile's organizational culture perception. The ANOVA test found statistically significant differences between the groups in the gender equality consciousness. This study is meaningful in that it reveals the relationship between the organization culture perception and the gender equality consciousness and suggested implications for the organizational-level intervention to improve the gender equality consciousness. It will provide basic data for your research.

  • The purposes of this research were to analyse the female college students' appraisals and demands about actual conditions of job-seeking and to propose the developmental alternatives from the perspectives of gender equality. The data were obtained through 510 female students living in Gwangju. The major findings were as follows: 1) Women's needs of job-seeking were very intensive but their preparation level was relatively low. Colleges' support system and organization utility were uneffective because their programs were not specified for women. Women generally recognized that social improvement for gender equality in employment system were very important and more practical methods and contents were demanded in education for job-seeking. 2) Women's grade and major were significant variables in the differences of job preparation, consciousness of job-seeking, social support and appraisals. Therefore, college supporting systems must consider students' characteristics. 3) The job-seeking mechanisms must be changed to more effective systems for the achievement of gender equality. Also community members, colleges and students should make collaborate endeavors for the women empowerment.

  • Many researchers in various study fields use the two sample t-test to confirm their treatment effects. The two sample t-test is generally used for small samples, and assumes that two independent random samples are selected from normal populations, and the population variances are unknown. Researchers often conduct F-test, the test of equality of variances, before testing the treatment effects, and the test statistic or confidence interval for the two sample t-test has two formats according to whether the variances are equal or not. Researchers using the two sample t-test often want to know how large sample sizes they need to get reliable test results. This research gives some guidelines for sample sizes to them through simulation works. The simulation had run for normal populations with the different ratios of two variances for different sample sizes (${\leq}30$). The simulation results are as follows. First, if one has no idea equality of variances but he/she can assume the difference is moderate, it is safe to use sample size at least 20 in terms of the nominal level of significance. Second, the power of F-test for the equality of variances is very low when the sample sizes are small (<30) even though the ratio of two variances is equal to 2. Third, the sample sizes at least 10 for the two sample t-test are recommendable in terms of the nominal level of significance and the error limit.

  • This study analyzed 10,352 married women to find the correlation between marital equality felt by married women and additional childbirth intentions. Frequency analysis and chi-square test analysis were performed to analyze the general characteristics of the investigator, and studies were conducted through binary logistic regression analysis and interaction analysis to analyze the relevance between each variable and additional childbirth. As a result, the 4-point group based on the 0-point group that lowest marital equality had 2.01 times higher willingness to additional birth. And, the 3-point group and the 2-point group were 1.46 times and 1.41 times higher than 0-point group with marital equality and additional childbirth intentions. In addition, intention of additional childbirth was increased when the higher the number of children, if they own a house, and if wives are non-regular or unemployed. This study analyzed the relationship between married women's intention to give birth additionally, focusing on marital equality. It is suggested that specific and reasonable policies at the macro level are required to improve the fertility rate.

  • This paper examines the delayed situations for gender equality in South Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese families despite the challenge to the gender division of labor in modern society, and to analyze the contradiction between the notions of gender equality and the experiences women face in East Asia countries. Using EASS data, we analyze the effective difference over the division of household labor according to women's age and length of school time, attitude for gender division of labor, couple's labor time, and family network. In South Korea and Taiwan, men's actual ratio of household division is higher than Japanese men's. On the other hand, Japanese women's ratio of household division is the highest in spite of their progressive attitude for gender equality. It is due to the difference of women's working time among the countries. In South Korea and Taiwan, women tend to work in full time job, so that they seem to inevitably reduce the time for household labor. The family characteristics have an effect on the women's ratio of household division in Taiwan, and the feature of women's employment does in South Korea. The high percentage of three-generation household contributes to the reduction of housework burden in Taiwan. In South Korea, the higher women's education levels, the higher the women's ratio of household division. Women's weakened bargaining power for household labor is due to the relatively low level of high-educated women's economic participation in South Korea. This paper reveals the effective factors on the gender division of household labor. We propose the necessity of the macro-level analysis as well as the analysis of the personal and conjugal feature.

  • Total fertility rate in South Korea is the lowest in the world. A fertility rate below replacement fertility level will result in serious social problems in the long term. Therefore, it is worthwhile to study a general understanding about the low fertility rate phenomenon and to investigate the effectiveness of fertility policies in order to ameliorate the resulting social problems due to the low fertility rate. This research was a descriptive examination into the low fertility rate phenomenon and an investigation of the needs for fertility potties and their effectiveness. The study subjects were consisted of 769 unmarried people aged from 18 to 40 years old. Data were collected from June to August 2004 and were analyzed by frequencies, mean, and standard deviation. The following results were revealed. First, unmarried people in general had positive perspectives about getting marriaged, giving birth, and being a parent. In addition, the primary cause of low fertility rate was economical difficulties for raising a child. Third, unmarried people thought that the low fertility rate phenomenon resoled in both positive and negative changes in a society. Fourth, policies for economical supports for raising children, establishing social atmosphere for gender equality, and trustful public educational systems were the political alternatives that people really wanted for having a child in the future. Effective alternatives for policies and strategies to address the low fertility rate problems are suggested in the discussion section.

  • This paper examines the impact of gender on access to debt finance among Vietnamese enterprises. The paper investigates data and variables retrieved from the World Bank Enterprise Survey dataset using five Probit models. The regression results suggest that there exist more unfavourable debt financing conditions for women-led firms (WLF), measured as a lower probability of having loan applications fully approved. Firm's age, working sector, and perception of access to finance as a difficulty are found to have explanatory power on the discrimination. More importantly, the perception of debt finance as a difficulty or firms' level of confidence significantly explains the variance of the dependent variable of probability of loan approval, or gender effect would be more pronounced if the firm already has a low level of confidence. The paper also contributes in testing for the gender effect on Vietnamese enterprises from different sectors and scale, unlike other prior research papers focusing on specific sectors and/or small and medium enterprises only. The findings are highly useful for Vietnamese credit institutions to set out a specific business policy to attract more WLFs and help promoting gender equality in the working environment, especially in debt financing, which is often neglected in existing regulation and policy frameworks.

  • When bread making, the condition of thawing-fermentation for frozen dough were tested in variable temperature, and measured thawing-fermentation time and volume of frozen dough. L-Ascorbic acid (L-Aa) was added in frozen dough for the comparison test of develop volume in bread staling degree of baking bread were measured additive frozen dough which was stoppages in freezing, staling degrees were tested hardness with Rheometer. The test for comparison of thawing-fermentation time in variable temperature was shown the condition of dough conditioner at 3$0^{\circ}C$ was most effective for bread making, Because That condition was required very short time(74 min) But, in this comparison of volume in final products was shown the products in the condition of thawing-fermentation at 3$0^{\circ}C$ was smaller than the products at 5$^{\circ}C$(418 ml). The baking volume of L-Aa additive frozen dough which has under gone thawing-fermentation at 3$0^{\circ}C$, were shown baking volume of 420 ml in 2 weeks storage terms to 100 mg/kg L-Aa additive dough and shown baking volume of 454 ml in 4 weeks storage terms to dough of 200 mg/kg additive weight. Staling degrees of L-Aa additive frozen bread were measured with Rheometer. The hardness of 100 mg/kg L-Aa additive frozen bread was sown low level hardness in 1~2 weeks freezing term, 150 mg/kg L-Aa additive frozen bread was shown low level hardness in 3 weeks freezing term. In 4 weeks freezing term, 200 mg/kg L-Aa additive frozen bread was shown low level hardness compared with non-additive L-Aa frozen bread. In comparison of frozen bread quality, non-additive L-Aa products was better than additive L-Aa products in equality of baking shape and external apparence. But in total quality in external and internal apparence, additive L-Aa products was better than non-additive L-Aa products.

  • The aim of this study is to closely examine the changes in their metabolic syndrome index and autonomic nerve systems after the 16-weeks's combined exercise program is carried out on low-level physical strength group (PAPS 4-5 level students). They were divided into two groups; exercise training group (15) and control group (15). This program consisted of five-times-a-week's warm-ups, main activities and warm-downs and it takes 50 minutes per trial. Through SPSS 19.0, all averages and standard deviations of dependent variables were calculated. We first performed Shapiro-Wilk's normality test of the variables. Before verifying the effect of combined exercise program, we tested the equality of means of the variables between combined-exercise-programmed-group and control group through a two-sample t-test and carried out a paired t-test to check if the changes in the variables of two groups before and after 16 weeks are statistically significant. Every statistical test is performed at a significance level of ${\alpha}$=.05. The results are as follows. When it came to metabolic syndrome index, there were statistically meaningful changes in waist measurement, triglyceride, glucose with empty stomach and HDL-C. Also, when it came to autonomic nerve system, there were meaningful changes in all variables. Consequently, it seems that the 16-weeks combined exercise program has positive effects on low level physical strength students.
