In this paper, we propose a rectification method that can convert ray space data obtained by controlled camera array to ideal data. Here, Ideal data is obtained by getting longitudinal and transversal epipolar line between cameras vertical and horizontal. However it is actually difficult to arrange cameras strictly because we arrange cameras by hand. As conventional method, we have use camera-calibration method. But if we use this method there are some errors on the output image. When we generate arbitrary viewpoint images this error is critical problem. We focus attention on ideal trajectory of characteristic point. And to minimize the error directly we parallelize the real one. And we showed usefulness of proposed technique. Then using the proposed technique, we were successful reducing the error to less than 0.5 pixels.

In this paper, we propose the new hardware architecture which implements the stereo matching algorithm using the dynamprogrammethod. The proposed MOEPE(Merged Odd-Even PE) architecture operates in the systolic manner and finds the disparities form the intensities of the pixels on the epipolar line. The number of PEs used in the MOEPE architecture is the same number of the range constraint, which reduced the nuMber of the necessary PEs draMatically compared to the traditional method which uses the PEs with the same number of pixels on the epipolar line. For the normal sized images, the numof the MOEPE architecture is less than that of the PEs in the traditional method by 25${\times}$The proposed architecture is modeled with the VHDL code and simulated by the SYNOPSYS tool.

The stereo geometry establishment based on the precise sensor modeling is prerequisite for accurate stereo data processing. Ground control points are generally required for the accurate sensor modeling though it is not possible over the area where the accessibility is limited or reference data is not available. For the areas, the relative orientation should be carried out to improve the geometric consistency between the stereo data though it does not improve the absolute positional accuracy. The relative orientation requires conjugate points that are well distributed over the entire image region. Therefore the automatic conjugate point extraction is required because the manual operation is labor-intensive. In this study, we applied the method consisting of the key point extraction, the search space minimization based on the epipolar line, and the rigorous outlier detection based on the RPCs (Rational Polynomial Coefficients) bias compensation modeling. We tested different parameters of window sizes for Kompsat-2 across track stereo data and analyzed the RPCs precision after the bias compensation for the cases whether the epipolar line information is used or not. The experimental results showed that matching outliers were inevitable for the different matching parameterization but they were successfully detected and removed with the rigorous method for sub-pixel level of stereo RPCs precision.

High voltage power transmission lines have been to keep the proper dip for maintenance. Powerline dips at a random point are conventionally measured by the direct or indirect observation but it is not only unsafe but labor-intensive. Therefore in this study we applied the photogrammetric technique to remotely measure the powerline dips. Since it is not easy to extract conjugate points from linear powerlines, we exploited the epipolar lines acrossing the powerlines for 3D mapping of the powerlines and dip measurements. The vertical mapping accuracy estimated at two field-surveyed power line points was 15~16cm that are within 5% of deflection at the points and less than 3% of the powerline dip.

This paper presents a method for line segment extraction for 3-d building reconstruction. Building roofs are described as a set of planar polygonal patches, each of which is extracted by watershed-based image segmentation, line segment matching and coplanar grouping. Coplanar grouping and polygonal patch formation are performed per region by selecting 3-d line segments that are matched using epipolar geometry and flight information. The algorithm has been applied to high resolution aerial images and the results show accurate 3-d building reconstruction.
In stereo vision, when we use two parallel axis images, small portion of object is contained and B/H(Base-line to Height) ratio is limited due to the size of object and depth information is inaccurate. To overcome these difficulities we take a non-parallel axis image which is rotated $\theta$ about y-axis and match other parallel-axis image. Epipolar lines of non-parallel axis image are not same as those of parallel-axis image and we can't match these two images directly. In this paper, we transform the non-parallel axis image geometrically with camera parameters, whose epipolar lines are alingned parallel. NCC(Normalized Cross Correlation) is used as match measure, area-based matching technique is used find correspondence and 9$\times$9 window size is used, which is chosen experimentally. Focal length which is necessary to get depth information of given object is calculated with least-squares method by CCD camera characteristics and lenz property. Finally, we select 30 test points from given object whose elevation is varied to 150 mm, calculate heights and know that height RMS error is 7.9 mm.

Lately, with the development of the fields of computer and photogrammetry, Digital Photogrammetric Systems are widely used for the generation of GIS basemap, the acquisition of topographic information and DEM, the formation of digital orthophoto, three-dimensional viewing and so on. According as the demand for the systems is rapidly increasing, we suggest keenly the necessity of domestic technical development, because all of these systems depend on foreign technology until now. In this study, by using digital photogrammetry method, with Visual C++ language, we have developed Digital Photogrammetric Systems for Windows which is able to get three-dimensional coordinates through interior orientation, exterior orientation, epipolar line, image matching from a pair of aerial photos taken with metric camera. This system consists of not only a module which can revise digital map that is being made at National Geographic Institute as a part of data construction project of National Geographic Information System, but also a module which can view three-dimensional image on the screen monitor by using anaglyph for three-dimensional analysis. The digital photogrammetry modules developed in this study are expected to be used as primary modules for the effective management of the urban as well as main modules in developing professional digital photogrammetric systems.

In this paper, we propose the 3D shape reconstruction method that combine the mosaic method and the active stereo matching using the laser beam. The active stereo matching method detects the position information of the irradiated laser beam on object by analyzing the color and brightness variation of left and right image, and acquires the depth information in epipolar line. The mosaic method extracts feature point of image by using harris comer detection and matches the same keypoint between the sequence of images using the keypoint descriptor index method and infers correlation between the sequence of images. The depth information of the sequence image was calculated by the active stereo matching and the mosaic method. The merged depth information was reconstructed to the 3D shape information by wrapping and blending with image color and texture. The proposed reconstruction method could acquire strong the 3D distance information, and overcome constraint of place and distance etc, by using laser slit beam and stereo camera.

This paper presents a rapid face shape acquisition system. The system is composed of two cameras and one projector. The technique works by projecting a pattern on the object and capturing two images with two cameras. We use a 'one shot' system which provides 3D data acquired by single image per camera. The system is good for rapid data acquisition as our purpose. We use the 'absolutely coded pattern' using the hue and saturation of pattern lines. In this 'absolutely coded pattern' all patterns have absolute identification numbers. We solve the correspondence problem between the two images by using epipolar geometry and absolute identification numbers. In comparison to the 'relatively coded pattern' which uses relative identification numbers, the 'absolutely coded pattern' helps obtain rapid 3D data by one to one point matching on an epipolar line. Because we use two cameras, we obtain two images which have similar hue and saturation. This enables us to have the same absolute identification numbers in both images, and we can use the absolutely coded pattern for solving the correspondence problem. The proposed technique is applied to face data and the total time for shape acquisition is estimated.
