친환경농업육성을 위한 영농 4-H조직의 활성화 방안 (A Study on the Activation of 4-H Farming Organization for development of Environmental-Friendly Agriculture)

  • In this article the author provided a brief introduction to the function and activation of 4-H fanning organization. The strategies developed to improve the environmental-friendly Agriculture are as following : the efficiency cooperatives of 4-H fanning organization, invitation of the upbringing plan of organization leader for promotion of the pilot region project of environmental-friendly Agriculture connected with green tourism, the establishment of reasonable management plan and strategies. In conclusion, there must be strategic measures to increase the income of environmental-friendly farmers. All of this information could be useful for the further development of the strategy for environmental-friendly Agriculture in organization and management.

Asbestos and Asbestos-related Diseases in Vietnam: In reference to the International Labor Organization/World Health Organization National Asbestos Profile

  • This paper describes progress on formulating a national asbestos profile for the country of Vietnam. The Center of Asbestos Resource, Vietnam, formulated a National Profile on Asbestos-related Occupational Health, with due reference to the International Labor Organization/World Health Organization National Asbestos Profile. The Center of Asbestos Resource was established by the Vietnamese Health Environment Management Agency and the National Institute of Labor Protection, with the support of the Australian Agency for International Development, as a coordinating point for asbestos-related issues in Vietnam. Under the National Profile on Asbestos-related Occupational Health framework, the Center of Asbestos Resource succeeded in compiling relevant information for 15 of the 18 designated items outlined in the International Labor Organization/World Health Organization National Asbestos Profile, some overlaps of the information items notwithstanding. Today, Vietnam continues to import and use an average of more than 60,000 metric tons of raw asbestos per year. Information on asbestos-related diseases is limited, but the country has begun to diagnose mesothelioma cases, with the technical cooperation of Japan. As it stands, the National Profile on Asbestos-related Occupational Health needs further work and updating. However, we envisage that the National Profile on Asbestos-related Occupational Health will ultimately facilitate the smooth transition to an asbestos-free Vietnam.

국내 대형건설기업의 조직구조 및 경영성과 분석을 통한 조직모형 개발 (Developing an Organization Model through the analysis of Organization Characteristics and Management Performances of Domestic Large Construction Firms)

  • 우리나라 건설기업들은 최근 경제 위기를 겪으면서 대외적으로 커다란 환경변화의 요구에 직면해 왔다. 내$\cdot$외부의 환경변화는 기업의 경영조직에 많은 영향을 끼치고 이러한 경영조직은 기업의 경영성과와 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있다. 이에 대응하여 건설기업들은 환경변화에 적응하고 경영성과를 증진시키기 위한 일환으로 기업 내 구조조정, 경영혁신, 조직개선 등의 명목으로 기업경영조직의 개선 노력을 기울이고 있다. 즉, 기업성장에 도움이 되지 않는 조직 구조는 오히려 기업에 역효과로 작용하게 되므로 기업은 가치를 높일 수 있는 효율적인 조직구조를 갖추어야 한다. 또한 향후 환경변화에 유연하게 대처할 수 있는 경영조직의 개발과 구축은 기업의 경영성과를 증대할 수 있는 중요한 기반이 될 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 설문 및 자료조사를 통하여 기업의 조직구조를 분석하고 이를 유형화 한 후 OLC측면의 조직구조 형태분석으로 기업발전단계에 적정한 조직을 설계할 수 있는 모형을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 최근 급속한 국내 건설환경의 변화속에서 기업은 구조개성을 포함한 다양한 변화를 추구하고 있으나, 이러한 노력이 경영 이익 증대까지 이어지지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 현상의 주요 원인 중 하나는 수주와 관련된 내 $\cdot$ 외부 환경변화를 기업의 경영전략과 조직구조에 반영하여 변화에 적응하고 더불어 수주성과를 극대화하기 위한 다양한 변화노력의 틀 속에서 진행되어야 함에도 불구하고 이와 같은 접근이 이루어지지 못하고 있기 때문이다. 특히 급변하는 환경에서 기업의 경영이익을 좌우하는 수주활동과 관련된 조직의 설계는 전반적 인 건설경기동향, 공공 및 민간의 발주 동향 등을 고려한 전략적이고 유연한 접근이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 수주환경 변화에 따른 수주조직을 전략적으로 설계할 수 있도록 환경변화와 경영성과측면의 관계를 규명하여 이를 대형건설업체의 사업유형 및 발주유형별 수주조직 설계에 반영할 수 있도록 모형과 절차를 제시하였다.

소하천 물 환경교육 프로그램의 적용 및 평가 (Application and Evaluation of Water Environmental Education Program using Streams)

  • The purpose of this research is to apply and evaluate the Water Environmental Education Program Using Streams(WEES) to pre-service teachers. WEES is developed to help the teachers increase their professionalism of incorporating a local environment into their inquiry teaching. The subjects of the study include the juniors of the Environmental Education Major at the Korea National University of Education. For the purpose this study, educational criticism about WEES was performed. The subject students were observed throughout the program application, after which a survey and in-depth interviews were carried out. As a result, the implementation elements and content organization of the WEES were found to be implemented in the application process in a satisfying level. In the content organization of the program, the preliminary preparation, visual assessment, and inquiry planning were organically connected with each other for inquiry purposes. The Intrinsic value of environmental education was also demonstrated in the implementation elements and content organization. Overall, the stream turned out to have a great value of environmental education and a potential as a place and material for environmental education. The great significance of the study can be found in that WEES took into account not only the characteristics of the ENVISION based on the watershed concept, but also the situations of Korea's environmental education and exploration from the perspective of environmental studies.

조직문화와 BPC 유형의 적합도가 BPC성공에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of the Fit between the Type of Business Process Change and Organizational Culture on the Business Process Change Success)

  • Business Process Change(BPC) is regarded as a salient factor to improve an organizations' efficiency in the current fast-changing business environment. Despite the tremendous popularity and great potential, the field of BPC adoption is littered with remarkable failures. Consequently, there have been many studies that have tried to identify the environmental factors that lead to successful BPC. However, most of them have not considered the effect of the interaction between the environmental factors on BPC success. According to Klempa(1995), the fit between environmental factors of a company may have the impact on its BPC success. Under this background, this paper empirically examines the effects of the fit between the type of BPC and the organization's culture on the success of BPC. Organization's cultures, organizational learning, as well as knowledge sharing are the dominant causes that have impact on the innovation characters of organization. Whether an organization has safety-oriented homogeneous culture or it has the change-oriented heterogeneous culture may have impact on its implementation of BPC. Also the implementation of BPC may be affected by whether the organization adopts the improvement project which accompanies only small changes or it adopts the innovation project which leads to critical changes. Thus, we analyzed the effect of the fit between the organization's culture and its BPC type on BPC success by using the survey data collected from the companies that have adopted BPC. The findings presented in this paper show that the organization having heterogeneous culture practicing innovation project and the organization having homogeneous culture practicing the improvement project resulted in the excellent BPC success.

지식확산에 의한 감염병 실험실의 자율적 생물안전관리 학습조직 설계 및 실행 (Design and Implementation of a Learning Organization for Autonomous Biosafety Management of Infectious Disease Laboratories by Knowledge Translation)

  • Objectives: A learning organization was designed and implemented on the basis of the selection criteria and essential elements of knowledge translation theory. Methods: The learning organization was designed on the basis of biosafety harmonization criteria and risk management strategy and was implemented as the learning organization for biosafety management by the National Institute of Health, Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. The effect of knowledge translation in the research institutions by evidence-based policy was verified. Results: The result of applying the knowledge translation theory involving all stakeholders showed a positive reaction in establishing and implementing biosafety management strategy and embodied risk assessment criteria and evoked sympathy with the necessity of learning and using of expert knowledge about risk assessment and risk management. All stakeholders initiated voluntarily action toward new human-network construction and communication between similar organizations. The learning organization's capability expanded the base of knowledge translation. Conclusion: These results showed that a learning organization could enhance the autonomous safety management system by diffusion of knowledge translation.

An early warning and decision support system to reduce weather and climate risks in agricultural production

  • Japanese agriculture has faced to several threats: aging and decrease of farmer population, global competition, and the risk of climate change as well as harsh and variable weather. On the other hands, the number of large scale farms is increasing, because farm lands have been being aggregated to fewer numbers of farms. Cost cutting, development of efficient ways to manage complicatedly scattered farm lands, maintaining yield and quality under variable weather conditions, are required to adapt to changing environments. Information and communications technology (ICT) would contribute to solve such problems and to create innovative technologies. Thus we have been developing an early warning and decision support system to reduce weather and climate risks for rice, wheat and soybean production in Japan. The concept and prototype of the system will be shown. The system consists of a weather data system (Agro-Meteorological Grid Square Data System, AMGSDS), decision support contents where information is automatically created by crop models and delivers information to users via internet. AMGSDS combines JMA's Automated Meteorological Data Acquisition System (AMeDAS) data, numerical weather forecast data and normal values, for all of Japan with about 1km Grid Square throughout years. Our climate-smart system provides information on the prediction of crop phenology, created with weather forecast data and crop phenology models, as an important function. The system also makes recommendations for crop management, such as nitrogen-topdressing, suitable harvest time, water control, pesticide spray. We are also developing methods to perform risk analysis on weather-related damage to crop production. For example, we have developed an algorism to determine the best transplanting date in rice under a given environment, using the results of multi-year simulation, in order to answer the question "when is the best transplanting date to minimize yield loss, to avoid low temperature damage and to avoid high temperature damage?".
