지오멤브레인 상의 모래의 전단거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shear Behavior of Sands on the Geomembranes)

  • The shear behavior of any interface is a function of the fundamental properties of both materials at the interface. This study aimed at investigating the effect of planar surface roughness on the stress-horizontal displacement curve at theinterfaces composed of various geomembrane textures and granular materials. In addition, the extent of surfacialscarring on smooth geomembranes against granular materials during shearing induced by plowing effect was studied. It wasobserved that the displacements required to achieve peak and residual interface resistance, and the stress-displacementcurve at the interface vary greatly with the surface roughness of geomembrane. Quantification of surface roughnessvariations on smooth geomembrane due to plowing effect showed that the surfacial scarring during shearing by the soilparticles is directly related to both the normal stress and the angularity of the soil particles at the interface. The findingsof this study can be used to provide the useful information for the design and selection of counterface materials.

SCM440 의 선삭에서 윤활조건과 테이퍼 각에 따른 가공성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Machinability Evaluation According to Lubrication Conditions and Taper Angle for Turning of SCM440)

  • Recently, in industry field, many researchers are looking for ways to reduce the use of lubricant because of environmental and economical reasons. MQL lubrication is one of many lubrication technologies. The aim of this study is to evaluate the machinability considering lubrication methods and taper angles of workpieces for turning of SCM440. Workpieces of two shapes such as workpiece with and without taper angle are used. And two lubrication methods such as MQL and Wet have been considered. And cutting force and surface roughness are used as characteristic values. Cutting speed, feed rate, injection angle and distance are used as design parameters. The characteristic values were statistically analyzed by Taguchi method. From the results, main effects plot and importance of each parameter according to conditions are analyzed. Finally, this study has been suggested the optimum machining conditions according to the lubrication methods, machining conditions and shape of workpiece.

기초저면(基礎底面)의 조도(粗度)의 영향을 고려한 얕은기초(基礎)의 지지력(支持力) 해석(解析) (Analysis of Bearing Capacity for Shallow Foundation Considering the Effect of Roughness of Base)

  • 본 연구에서는 얕은기초의 지지력을 해석함에 있어서 기초저면(基礎底面)의 조도(組度)의 영향을 고려하고, 기초지반(基礎地盤)의 활동면(滑動面)을 직선(直線)과 대수나선(對數螺線)이 복합된 형상으로 가정하여 지지력이론식을 유도하였으며, 흙의 내부마찰각(內部摩擦角) 및 기초의 저면마찰각(底面摩擦角)의 변화에 따른 영향과 대수나선(對數螺線)의 극점(極點)의 위치에 따른 지지력계수의 영향을 분석하였고, 지지력이론식(支持力理論式)을 간편화(簡便化)하여 Terzaghi, Meyerhof, Vesic 및 Yamaguchi 등의 지지력이론식과 비교분석하였다. 또한 분석한 결과를 토대로 하여, 실제의 얕은기초를 설계하거나 시공할 때 논란이 되고 있는 내부마찰각(內部摩擦角)을 ${\varphi}=40^{\circ}$로 제한하고, 저면조도(底面組度)의 적용범위(適用範圍)를 흙의 내부마찰각의 크기에 따라서 제한하여 사용할 것을 제안하였다.

3D 프린팅 방식의 적층방향에 따른 시제품의 기계적 특성 비교에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Comparison Mechanical Properties of 3D Printing Prototypes with Laminating Direction)

  • This paper summarizes the results of an investigation into the environmental factors that have an indirect impact on parts quality, as well as those process variables and modeling information that have a direct impact. The effects of strength, surface hardness, roughness, and accuracy of shape, that is, qualities that users generally need to know, were evaluated with laminating direction experimentally. The 3D printing methods used in this experiment were fused deposition modeling (FDM), stereolithography apparatus (SLA), selective laser sintering (SLS), 3D printing (3DP) and laminated object manufacturing (LOM). The goal was to achieve a high standard of quality control and product quality by optimizing the fabrication process.

UV조사 처리한 PET의 역학적 특성변화와 감성평가 (The physiological properties and sensibility of PET irradiated by ultraviolet rays)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate hand and sensibility of PET treated by Ultra-Violet (UV). The 4-channel PET knit fabric was treated by a self-made UV instrument in 5cm distance with different time frames-0min, 30min, and 90min. For hand evaluation, mechanical properties were measured by the KES-FB system. The environmental condition was controlled at 29$^{\circ}C$, 75% (R.H.)-summer standard climate. Twenty female students evaluated 'roughness', 'smoothness', 'wetness', 'stiffness', 'coolness', 'touch', 'preference', and 'comfort'. The outcomes of the experiment are as follows: The surface roughness of mechanical properties showed significant differences and the value of PET irradiated by UV for 90min was highest. The order of primary hand value such as NUMERI and FUKURAMI was in a following order-Untreated > 30min treated > 90min treated. Total hand value showed that PET irradiated by UV for 90min was appropriate for using summer fabric. The results of subjective sensibility were that the untreated and 30min treated PET were recognized as similar and had a good evaluation on 'comfort', 'preference' and 'the sense of touch'. This consequence disagreed with total hand value, because it was considered that subjects' hand sensibility was dependent on the feel of smoothness.

  • 암석의 성인과 변성에 따른 내부구조의 마이크로 특성은 암반의 거동 특성에 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 암석 내부의 구성물질의 분포 특성을 반영하는 엑스레이 단층(X-ray CT) 이미지에 기초한 새로운 암석특성의 평가방안을 고찰하였다. 암석의 불균질 특성 및 이방성 특성의 정량화, 암석의 구성광물 입자의 크기분포 및 형상특성, 공극이미지를 이용한 유동해석, 암석내부의 노출되지 않은 절리면 거칠기 평가 등 전통적인 암석의 시험법으로 측정하기 어려웠던 중요한 암석의 특성들이 X-ray CT 이미지의 분석을 통하여 평가될 수 있다.

A fractal fracture model and application to concrete with different aggregate sizes and loading rates

  • Recent developments in fractal theory suggest that fractal may provide a more realistic representation of characteristics of cementitious materials. In this paper, the roughness of fracture surfaces in cementitious material has been characterized by fractal theory. A systematic experimental investigation was carried out to examine the dependency of fracture parameters on the aggregate sizes as well as the loading rates. Three maximum aggregate sizes (4.76 mm, 12.7 mm, and 19.1 mm) and two loading rates (slow and fast loading rate) were used. A total of 25 compression tests and 25 tension tests were performed. All fracture parameters exhibited an increase, to varying degrees, when aggregates were added to the mortar matrix. The fracture surfaces of the specimens were digitized and analyzed. Results of the fractal analysis suggested that concrete fracture surfaces exhibit fractal characteristics, and the fractal geometry provide a useful tool for characterizing nonlinear fracture behavior of concrete. Fractal dimension D was monotonically increased as maximum aggregate sizes increase. A new fractal fracture model was developed which considers the size and shape of aggregate, and the crack paths in the constituent phases. Detailed analyses were given for four different types of fracture paths. The fractal fracture model can estimate fractal dimension for multiphase composites.

Extraction of quasi-static component from vehicle-induced dynamic response using improved variational mode decomposition

  • The quasi-static component of the moving vehicle-induced dynamic response is promising in damage detection as it is sensitive to bridge damage but insensitive to environmental changes. However, accurate extraction of quasi-static component from the dynamic response is challenging especially when the vehicle velocity is high. This paper proposes an adaptive quasi-static component extraction method based on the modified variational mode decomposition (VMD) algorithm. Firstly the analytical solutions of the frequency components caused by road surface roughness, high-frequency dynamic components controlled by bridge natural frequency and quasi-static components in the vehicle-induced bridge response are derived. Then a modified VMD algorithm based on particle swarm algorithm (PSO) and mutual information entropy (MIE) criterion is proposed to adaptively extract the quasi-static components from the vehicle-induced bridge dynamic response. Numerical simulations and real bridge tests are conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed extraction method. The results indicate that the improved VMD algorithm could extract the quasi-static component of the vehicle-induced bridge dynamic response with high accuracy in the presence of the road surface roughness and measurement noise.

폐쇄성해역에 있어서의 새로운 수질개선책에 관한 연구 (A Study on the New Method for Water-Purification in a Semi-enclosed Bay)

  • Water pollution in a semi-enclosed sea area such as a bay due to stagnancy of water has been a serious water environmental problem. Recently, some kinds of new methods to activate the tidal exchange between an inner bay and an outer sea area by control of a tidal residual current have been proposed. However, these methods have several problems, that is, I). deterioration in a natural view due to building of huge structures, II). increase of risk of navigation in case of a submerged structure, III). limition of sea area where a tidal current can be controlled and IV). difficulty in removing those structures in case of occurrence of an unexpected impact on water environment. In this paper, a new method is proposed, which can solve all the above problems, to purify water quality in a semi-enclosed bay by creation and control of a pattern of a tidal residual current. The tidal residual current is controlled by unsymmetric structures, which change the properties of resistance according to the direction of flow, arranged on the sea bottom. In this study, several numerical and hydraulic experiments of tidal current and particle-tracking for various arrangements of bottom roughness in a semi-enclosed model bay were carried out. As a result of experiments, it becomes clear that it is possible to generate a new tidal residual current and to activate a tidal exchange by only operation of bottom roughness arrangement.

스미어 현상이 발생한 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주변부 거동예측을 위한 변수분석 (A Parametric Study for Estimating the Side Performance of Drilled Piers Socketed in Smeared Rock)

  • 충전물이 암 절리면의 전단강도를 감소시키는 것과 유사하게 콘크리트와 주변 암반근입부 사이의 연약한 물질은 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면저항력을 감소시킨다. 이러한 현상은 콘크리트 타설 후에 암반 근입부 측벽에서 천공잔류물이나 스미어 또는 재성형 암반을 생성시키는 시공과정에서도 형성되게 된다. 콘크리트 말뚝과 주변 암반 사이의 접촉면의 특성은 시공법에 따라서 크게 영향을 받는다. 콘크리트 타설과정 또는 그 이후 형성되는 연약한 물질이 존재하거나 거칠기와 같은 콘크리트-암 접촉면의 특성은 말뚝의 주면부 거동에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 유한차분법 코드를 기반으로 하는 FLAC 2D를 이용하여 스미어현상이 발생한 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 거동특성을 조사하기 위하여 변수분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과로서, 정적연직하중을 받는 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 극한주면저항력에 영향을 미치는 요소와 말뚝두부의 침하에 영향을 미치는 요소들을 확인할 수 있었다.
