  • The transition toward clean energy is an issue of great importance with growing debate in climate change mitigation. The complex nature of nuclear energy-CO2 emissions nexus makes it difficult to predict whether or not nuclear acts as a clean energy source. Hence, we examined the relationship between nuclear energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the context of the IPAT and Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) framework. Dynamic Auto-regressive Distributive Lag (DARDL), a newly modified econometric tool, is employed for estimation of long- and short-run dynamics by using yearly data spanning from 1971 to 2018. The empirical findings of the study revealed an instantaneous increase in nuclear energy reduces environmental pollution, which highlights that more nuclear energy power in the Indian energy system would be beneficial for climate change mitigation. The results further demonstrate that the overarching effect of population density in the IPAT equation stimulates carbon emissions. Finally, nuclear energy and population density contribute to form the EKC curve. To achieving a cleaner environment, results point out governmental policies toward the transition of nuclear energy that favours environmental sustainability.

  • It is an urgent time to give impetus to an ecological understanding of relationship between man and environment and to promote an action to preserve environment. This paper is to examine factors which give influence to environmental education environmental consciousness and environmental behavior of housewives. The subjects of this study are 806 Seoulite housewives. A questionaire is used as the survey method and the statistical methods such as frequency percentage ANOVA multiple regression path analysis have been applied for research. Major findings are summarized as follows: Major findings are summarized as follows: When environmental education program is relatively low differences are shown according to variables of age, education and occupation. Second, when environmental consciousness is high differences are shown according to variables of age education income and housing. Third when environmental behavior is low group difference is shown only according to age. Relative influence to environmental behaviour is shown in the order of spare-life type environmental education environmental consciousness socio-oriented type fashion-oriented type and age difference.

  • The purpose of this study were (1) to examine the level of housewives' pro- environmental behavior, and (2) to analyze the effect of the selected variables on pro-environmental behavior 941 sample were selected from housewives living in urban area. For the analysis of data, frequencies, means, one-way ANOVA, DMR test, Chi-square test, and multiple regression analysis were used. The major findings were as follows:1. The level of housewives' pro-environmental behavior was lower than that of pro-environmental attitude. 2. The level of housewives' pro-environmental behavior was mainly affected by their environment-related variables, for example, pro-environmental attitude, and experience of environmental education. Most of socio-demographic variables and family-related variables didn't have significant effects on the level of pro-environmental behavior.
