버섯의 자실체색과 관련된 멜라닌의 특성 (Characteristics of melanin related fruiting body colors in mushrooms)

  • Melanins in cell walls of mushroom are known to related with fruiting body color. Fruiting body color in oyster mushrooms is various and is very important characteristic for new cultivars. Recently, several cultivars have been breeded with various fruiting body color, for example yellow, pink, white in Korea. Recent research trend of fungal melanins and fruiting body color of mushroom will be introduced.

SB latex 대체용 친환경 전분계 바이오바인더 및 합성바인더의 적용 기술 개발 (제1보) - 대체용 바인더의 Pre-coating 적용 - (Application Technology of Environmental-friendly Starch-based Biobinder and Synthesized Binder in order to Substitute SB Latex for Paper Coating (1) - Application of Substitute Binder for Pre-coating Layer -)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate whether EVAc, acryl latex and biobinder could substitute the part of SB latex for pre-coating color formula or not. Different coating colors prepared through the substitution of 30% SB latex with EVAc, acryl latex, and biobinder were applied for pre-coating layer. 100% SB latex is used as a binder for top coating color. The optical properties, gloss, roughness, stiffness, dry- and wet-pick strength were measured. There were no significant differences in the brightness, whiteness, opacity, roughness, ink set-off and gloss of paper coated with 5 different coating colors. However the stiffness, dry- and wet-pick strength were somewhat lower than those of conventional coating color which 100% SB latex was used as a binder. Although the part of SB latex could be substituted with EVAc, acryl latex and biobinder without sacrificing the qualities of coated paper. Further researches on the improvement of stiffness, dry- and wet-pick strength, and the optimization of rheology of coating color in order to improve the qualities of coated paper are strongly recommended.

  • 정원을 만드는데 있어서 정원설계가들은 특정한 색을 이용하여 원칙을 정하고 소재를 수집하여 각자의 미의식으로 결합해가는 기법을 사용한다. 본 연구에서는 흰색을 배색의 주조톤으로 하여 유명한 정원인 제킬(Gertrude Jekyll)의 배링턴 코트(Barrington court)와 비타(Vita Sackvill-West)의 시싱허스트(Sissinghurst)의 화이트 가든에 사용된 초화류의 종류와 특성을 통해 설계기법을 연구한다. 사용된 개별식물을 계절, 색, 형태, 초장, 향기로 구분하여 분석하고, 화이트 가든 조성 시 초화류의 미적 결합방식을 제킬과 비타의 작품을 통해 살펴보았다. 제킬은 봄의 신선함을 위한 정원으로 초롱꽃류(Campanula spp.), 백합류(Lilium spp.)를 위주로 식재하였다. 비타(Vita Sackvill-West)는 주로 여름밤의 달빛을 겨냥한 정원으로 델피니움류(Delphinium spp.), 장미류(Rosa spp.)가 대표적인 수종이다. 꽃의 색은 흰색계열로 조성하였으나, 순수한 흰색에서부터 아이보리색과 실버색을 포함하였으며, 꽃의 형태는 흰색의 단일색에서 오는 단조로움을 피하기 위해 강한 형태를 사용하였다. 또한 잎의 색은 흰꽃이 잘 돋보일 수 있도록 연록색, 연회색, 밝은 녹황색 잎을 조합하였다. 전반적으로 차가운 색상 계열을 사용하여 신비감과 시원함, 청정함, 밤에 빛이 반사되었을 때 흰꽃과 더불어 매혹적이고 애상적인 이미지를 추구하였다. 화이트 가든의 조경사적 의의는 색의 잠재력을 발견하고 범위를 제한하지 않는 재식설계기법의 아이디어와 기술로 주제색상을 통한 정원설계의 시발점이 되었으며, 미적 원리에 의한 결합으로 정원예술의 발전에 기여하였다.

유아의 연령과 부모 문해 상호작용 유형에 따른 유아의 환경인쇄물 읽기능력의 차이 (The Differences in Children's Reading Abilities of Environmental Print according to Children's Age and Types of Parental Literacy Interaction)

  • The purpose of this study investigate the differences in children's reading abilities of environmental print according to children's age and types of parental literacy interaction. The subjects comprised 111 illiterate children, 3 to 4 years of age, and their mothers. The Children's Reading Abilities of Environmental Print Scale (CRAEPS), Parent's Literacy Interaction Rating Scale (PLIRS) as developed by Son (2012) were used in this study. The collected data are analyzed by means of descriptive analysis, K-mean cluster analysis, Correlations, and two-way ANOVA. The results of this study are as follows : Illiterate Korean children, aged 3 to 4 years, can read environmental print which are familiar to them, and an 'open interaction style' plays an important role in developing the child's reading ability of environmental print. Therefore, in order to develop child literacy, it is necessary to research, not only teaching methods for using environmental print in the home, child care centers, and in kindergarten, but also parent education programs regarding the importance of the mother's literacy interaction style.

  • We know that humans are able to live comfortably when there is a balance between the living environment that surrounds us and us. Clothing, one of the necessities of life, serves a dual purpose of functioning as protection for the body as well as providing visual satisfaction, and so is the most effective bonding mechanism. A different type of comfort that has been provided through industrialization and advancements in technology has resulted in pollution problems in the environment, and it has reached a point of seriously thinking about its effects. The biggest problems in environmental pollution are air pollution and waste disposal, and something that cannot be ignored is that environmental hormones and harmful heavy metals have been discovered in the synthetic dyes used in the clothing product, and not only are they harmful to the body, but they also have adverse effects on skin allergies such as atopic dermatitis. Its effects on clothing, especially underwear and baby products, can become a serious issue. The use of natural vegetable dye can be considered the basis for the traditional Korean dyeing process, however not all natural dyeing process can be thought of as traditional Korean dyeing. This is because natural dyeing used to be the most common method of dyeing before synthetic dyes came along and became the dye of choice for most clothing. Natural dyes are beneficial to the body, and the nature colors, achieved from the natural materials, relieve eye strains as well as have a healing effect for people who are suffering from psychological instability such as stress. However, the use of mordant in order to increase the fastness and get better color effects can lead to even more damage to the environment, and it cannot be a dyeing method that is good for the body. Traditional natural dyeing is different from regular natural dyeing because it uses colors that the Korean people can identify with and applies specific methods in order to achieve those colors. Even though experimental study with dyestuff and practical use of the dyeing methods for traditional Korean dyeing has been started(Soh, H., 1983) and has been ongoing, it is still not easy for regular people to use the method on their own. At the present time, natural dye materials are getting made and sold more than ever, but there is a lot of confusion among consumers regarding the difference between traditional Korean dyeing and natural dyeing, as companies are using the two terms interchangeably to market their natural dye products. So getting a better understanding of the characteristics of traditional Korean dyeing and traditional colors should be considered first priority at this time. The purpose of this thesis is to study the traditional Korean view of color, which developed the culture of traditional dyeing in Korea, and the characteristics of traditional Korean dyeing, a method that pursued achieving Korea's color through natural dyeing.

상업공간에서 미술품 색 계열과 방문객 만족도 관계의 조절요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Moderating Factors of the Relationship between Artwork Color Series and Visitor Satisfaction in Commercial Spaces)

  • 본 연구는 상업공간에 환경적 자극으로 설치된 미술품 색 계열이 방문객의 만족도에 미치는 영향과 그 영향 관계의 조절효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 환경 심리학 분야의 매장환경 연구에 적용된 자극(Stimulate).유기체(Organism).행동 반응(Response)의 SOR 모형과 이를 이용한 선행연구를 토대로 미술품 색 계열(S) .기분 및 공간 어메니티(O).만족도(R)의 연구 프레임워크를 개발하였다. 실험은 미술품의 색 계열에 대해 난색과 한색이 설치된 이미지를 제작하여 두 집단 간 응답자가 반응하는 만족도 차이를 조사했다. 회귀분석을 통해 검증한 결과 미술품 색계열은 난색(vs. 한색)이 설치된 경우 더 높은 방문객의 만족도를 유도한다는 것을 발견했다. 또한, 이러한 영향 관계에 있어서 기분과 공간 어메니티 유형의 조절요인을 분석한 결과 미술품 색 계열의 난색(vs. 한색)이 주는 긍정적 기분을 평균보다 더 높게 느꼈을 때, 공간 어메니티의 네 가지 유형 중 쾌적성과 심미성만을 더 높게 인지했을 때 각각 유의한 조절효과가 나타난다는 것을 발견했다. 본 연구 결과는 상업공간의 물리적 환경을 자극하는 미술품의 난색 계열이 한색 계열에 비해 방문객의 만족도에 더 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 이것은 긍정적 기분 및 쾌적성, 심미성에 따라 강화된다는 것을 증명함으로써 기존 문헌의 이해를 추가하고 효과적인 마케팅 전략에 유용한 시사점을 제공한다.

운전자 인지특성 분석을 통한 횡단보도 디자인 연구 (Pedestrian Crosswalk Design based on the Assessment of Driver Recognition)

  • With the increasing role of environmental design in promoting urban safety, new design attempts have been made to improve pedestrian safety in crosswalks. This study proposes an evidence-based design solution for improving crosswalk function by conducting simulations and field experiments. Drivers with more than one-year driving experience participated in this study. Four different crosswalk design patterns were prepared: (1) a zebra pattern, (2) zebra pattern with colored triangles, (3) 3D pattern, and (4) art pattern with unique colors and design. The results supported that the zebra pattern with colored triangles could be the most effective solution for crosswalk design by increasing visibility, attention, deceleration, and landscape aesthetics. This study provided objective data to support the performance of various crosswalk patterns and suggested the need to reevaluate the present crosswalk design guidelines.

쥬라기 운악산 및 백악기 속리산 화강암류의 조직과 물성과의 관계 (Relationships between Texture and Physical Properties of Jurassic Unagsan and Cretaceous Sogrisan Granites)

  • 연구대상인 운악산과 속리산 화강암류는 각각 경기육괴 북부인 운악산과 옥천대 중부인 속리산 일대에 대규모로 분포한다. 전자는 쥬라기의 석류석 흑운모화강암으로 담회색이 우세하며 치밀조직을, 후자는 백악기의 흑운모화강암으로서 홍색을 띠며 공동구조를 이룬다. 자료의 균질성을 얻기 위하여 시료의 입도는 거의가 조립질 그리고 암석판정상 신선한 암석 을 택하였다. 그리고 공시체는 모두 일번 결 면에 수직한 방향으로 제작하였다. 주성 분광물은 모우드 값에서 큰 차이를 보여 전자는 석영+사장석이, 후자는 알칼리장석이 각각 뚜렷 이 증가하며 이로 인하여 각각 담회색과 홍색을 이루는 것으로 보인다. 열극의 주향은 전자보다 후자에서 직교하는 경향이 더 뚜렷하며 경사는 수직에 가까운 것들이 후자에서 크게 증가하여, 전자보다 후자에서 규격석이 산출이 더 많을 것으로 해석된다. 후자에 종종 수반되는 공동구조가 암질을 저하시키는 한 요소가 될 수 있다. 운악산과 속리산 화강암류의 비중은 각각 2.60과 2.57의 값을 가진다. 흡수율과 공극율은 뚜렷한 정의 관계를 이루며, 이들 값은 전자보다 후자에서 각각 두 배 정도로 증가한다. 이러한 물성 값의 차이와 변화경 향은 전자와 후자에 각각 발달하는 치밀조직과 불규칙하게 배열하는 대소의 공동조직에 의한 것으로 해석된다. 압축강도는 그 값이 후자보다 전자에서 대부분 증가하며, 인장강도는 그 값이 후자보다 전자에서 뚜렷이 증가한다. 공극율은 전자에서 압축 및 인장강도에 뚜렷한 부의, 그리고 후자에서 모두 높은 분산도에 의하여 상관성 결여되는 경향을 이룬다. 이는 전자보다 천부 정치암인 후자에서 후기 마그마 산물로 형성된 공동구조에 의한 것으로 해석된다. 전자와 후자의 마모경 도는 공극율과 달리 서로 비슷한 범위와 평균값을 가지며, 이는 도가 강한 석영+알칼리장석 모우드 값이 후자에서 다소 증가되기 때문으로 보인다. 그리고 전자와 달리 후자의 압축강도는 주성분과 부성 분광물에 따라 각각 증가 및 감소되는 것으로 해석된다.

  • The environmental considerations should be taken into full consideration in order to make the use of ground space as comfort and efficient as that of ground space. The visual environmental factors which provide visual informations in underground spaces where the environmental information can be acquired only by the surroundings expand their role as affordance for wayfinding. This study focuses on the visual performance evaluation of wayfinding factors on the subway transfer station platform and aisle as major space for movement in four subway transfe stations and analyzes the material, pattern, color, and lighting provided by the visual environment in underground space as directional marked label, regional differentiation and sign system. The results of this study comes are as follows. First, As to the directional marked label at the subway platform and transfer aisle, following patterns are colors, finishing materials and lighting for the sake of safety and convenience, And regional differentiation, following colors are patterns for the space division. Finally sign system which practically provides the most information, however, it is most insufficient to be a space-preception element. Second, According to the type of platform structures, such as an island platform and a separate platform, the main areas of and necessity for the space-perception elements may bring about changes. Third, these four stations that has been analyzed for this study, lighting, compared with color, finishing material and pattern, has been highly insufficient to be a perception element.

Hex Code-based Geological Cross-sections Describing Landscape Dynamics in the Jeju Geomunoreum Lava Tube System

  • BACKGROUND: The Geomunoreum Lava Tube System (GLTS) is both vast and culturally valuable. The Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes, which are partly composed of the GLTS, have been declared as a United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site. Exploration of the caves is strictly regulated to conserve these vulnerable environments. Photographs provide limited information and do not describe the entire environment comprehensively. Therefore, we created several illustrations of the lava tubes to display their environmental features. METHODS AND RESULTS: We explored six lava caves (upstream and downstream) in the GLTS and photographed their geological features and yellow walls, the colors of which are influenced by microbial mats. We compared the hex codes of the wall colors using the Clip Studio v1.10.5 software and created illustrations that accurately represent the scale and features of the caves. CONCLUSION(S): Upstream and downstream caves of the GLTS differ in scale and volcanic features. We illustrated various characteristics of the caves including lava cave features, vegetation, and microbial mats. We also described the internal and external cave environments.
