도시철도 역사시설물의 효율적인 관리를 위한 삼차원 역사관리시스템 개발 (Development on the 3D Station Management System for Urban Transit)

  • In several years, the geographic information system has been being applied into various departments, i.e. estate, transportation, prevention against disasters, agriculture, environment, etc. Especially, it is very useful for us to manage the infrastructures of urban transit which are scattered and located in the vast areas of city. But, in the 2D geographic information system, it is impossible to manage the various inner facilities of stations which are in the same spatial location on GIS. Then, the 3D station management system has been developed for the efficient management of station facilities in urban transit. Through this system, from the virtual cyberspace of station on PC, we can move and go to any places of station we want without going to the station fields. So, we can manage the various information of location information, basis information, maintenance information about the inner facilities such as architectural structures, machinery facilities, electronic equipments. And, this system is also connected with the drawings and technical documents in each facilities. So, we're sure, this system will improve the efficiency of maintenance work and information management of stations.

보정계수 적용을 통한 유역에 대한 ArcSATEEC의 월별 토양유실량 추정 방안 연구 (Monthly Sediment Yield Estimation Based on Watershed-scale Application of ArcSATEEC with Correction Factor)

  • The universal soil loss equation (USLE), a model for estimating the potential soil loss, has been used not only in research areas but also in establishing national policies in South Korea. Despite its wide applicability, USLE cannot adequately address the effect of seasonal variances. To overcome this limit, the ArcGIS-based Sediment Assessment Tool for Effective Erosion (ArcSATEEC) has been developed as an alternative model. Although the field-scale (< 100 ㎡) application of this model produced reliable estimation results, it is still challenging to validate accuracy of the model estimation because it only estimates potential soil losses, not the actual sediment yield. Therefore, in this study, a method for estimating actual soil loss based on the ArcSATEEC model was suggested. The model was applied to eight watersheds in South Korea to estimate sediment yields. Correction factor was introduced for each watershed, and the estimated sediment yield was compared with that of the estimated yield by LOAD ESTimator (LOADEST). Sediment yield estimation for all watersheds exhibited reliable results, and the validity of the proposed correction factor was confirmed, suggesting the correction factor needs to be considered in estimating actual soil loss.

배출량 산정방법에 따른 지자체 도로수송부문의 온실가스 배출량 산정 비교 (Comparison of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Road Transportation of Local Government by Calculation Methods)

  • The objective of this study was to compare greenhouse gas emissions from road transportation by calculation methods (Tier 1, Teir 2, and Tier 3). Tier 1 based on 2006 IPCC guidelines default emission factor and amount of fuel consumption. The Tier 2 approach is the same as Tier 1 except that country-specific carbon contents of the fuel sold in road transport are used. Tier 2 based on emission factor of guidelines for local government greenhouse gas inventories (Korea Environment Corporation), the fuel consumption per one vehicle, and the registered motor vehicles. The Tier 3 approach requires detailed, country-specific data to generate activity-based emission factors for vehicle subcategories (National Institute of Environmental Research) and may involve national models. Tier 3 calculates emissions by multiplying emission factors by vehicle activity levels (e.g., VKT) for each vehicle subcategory and possible road type. VKT was estimated by using GIS road map and traffic volume of the section. The GHG average emission rate by the Tier 1 was 728,857 $tonCO_2eq$/yr, while Tier 2 and Tier 3 were 864,757 $tonCO_2eq$/yr and 661,710 $tonCO_2eq$/yr, respectively. Tier 3 was underestimated by 10.1 and 20.7 percent for the GHG emission observed by Tier 1 and Tier 2, respectively. Based on this study, we conclude that Tier 2 is reasonable GHG emissions than Tier 1 or Tier 3. But, further study is still needed to accurate GHG emission from Tier 3 method by expanding the traffic survey area and developing the model of local road traffic.

도시환경변수를 이용한 격자 인구추정에 있어서의 유전적 알고리즘기법 활용 연구 (An Application of the Genetic Algorithm on Population Estimation Using Urban Environmental Factors)

  • 본 논문에서 활용한 유전적 알고리즘(GA)은 격자형 인구분포자료를 기반으로 인구추정 모형을 구축하는 데 적용되고 있는 일종의 인구표면모형 중 하나이다. 본 연구는 신도시 개발 등이 활발히 진행되고 있는 화성시 동부권을 대상지로 하여 격자형 인구분포자료를 구축하고 도시환경변수를 이용해 GA 인구설명 모형을 추정하였다. 분석결과 기반시설, 지역공공서비스시설 등은 이미 동부권내에 공간적으로 균등 분포하는 관계로 설명력이 없는 것으로 나타난 반면 표고, 경사 등의 자연환경변수와 개발촉진 및 규제 관련 용도지역지구 등의 변수에 대해서는 매우 설득력 있는 계수 값들이 도출되었다. 결과적으로 본 연구에서 활용한 GA모형은 적자생존의 유전학적 원리를 기반으로한 매우 직관적이고 학제적인 적정해 탐색 기법 중 하나임을 확인할 수 있었다.

여자만의 수질관리를 위한 허용유입부하량 산정 (Assessment of Permissible Inflow Load for Water Quality Management in Yeoja Bay, Korea)

  • 여자만은 유기물 오염이 점차 진행되어 가고 있으며, 해역의 수질관리를 위하여 유역으로부터 유입하는 육상기인 오염물질을 GIS 기법을 이용하여 발생부하량과 배출부하량을 산정하였다. 목표수질을 달성하기 위해 해역의 환경용량을 초과하여 유입하는 육상오염물질의 양을 박스모델로 계산하여 삭감부하량과 허용유입부하량을 평가하였다. 여자만의 수질을 해역생활환경기준 I등급으로 회복하기 위한 허용부하량을 산정한 결과, 생물화학적산소요구량은 배출부하의 39.3%, 총인은 30.8%를 삭감해야 하고, 총질소의 경우 6.9%의 낮은 배출부하 삭감률을 나타내었다. 유역의 오염원 현황과 발생부하량 현황을 볼 때 토지계가 차지하는 오염부하 비중이 높고, 배출부하량에서도 가장 큰 비중을 차지하였다. 여자만의 해양환경 보호와 개선을 위해서는 육상기원 오염물질 중 점오염원 뿐만 아니라 축산계 및 토지계 부하 등 비점원 오염원에 대한 관리가 필요하다는 것을 시사한다.

토지이용변화에 따른 낙동강 유역 산림경관의 구조적 패턴 분석 (Patterns of Forest Landscape Structure due to Landcover Change in the Nakdong River Basin)

  • The goal of this research is to evaluate landscape-ecological characteristics of watersheds in the Nakdong River Basin by using Geogaphic Information System (GIS) and landscape indices for integation of spatio-temporal informations and multivariate statistical techniques for quantitative analysis of forest landscape. Fragmentation index and change matrix techniques using factor analysis and grid overlay method were used to efficiently analyze and manage huge amount of information for ecological-environmental assessment (land-cover and forest landscape patterns). According to the results based on the pattern analysis of land-cover changes using the change detection matrix between 1980s and 1990s, addition on 750km$^2$ became urbanized areas. The altered 442.04km$^2$ was agricultural areas which is relatively easy for shifting of land-use, and 205.1km$^2$ of forests became urbanized areas, and average elevation and slope of the whole altered areas were 75m and 4$^{\circ}$. On the other hand, 120km$^2$ of urban areas were changed into other areas (i.e., agricultural areas and green space), and fortunately, certain amount of naturalness had been recovered. But still those agricultural areas and fallow areas, which were previously urban areas, had high potential of re-development for urbanization due to their local conditions. According to the structural analysis of forest landscape using the landscape indices, the forest fragmentation of watersheds along the main stream of the Nakdong River was more severe than my other watersheds. Furthermore, the Nakdong-sangju and Nakdong-miryang watersheds had unstable forest structures as well as least amount of forest quantity. Thus, these areas need significant amount of forest through a new forest management policy considering local environmental conditions.

Computation of geographic variables for air pollution prediction models in South Korea

  • Recent cohort studies have relied on exposure prediction models to estimate individual-level air pollution concentrations because individual air pollution measurements are not available for cohort locations. For such prediction models, geographic variables related to pollution sources are important inputs. We demonstrated the computation process of geographic variables mostly recorded in 2010 at regulatory air pollution monitoring sites in South Korea. On the basis of previous studies, we finalized a list of 313 geographic variables related to air pollution sources in eight categories including traffic, demographic characteristics, land use, transportation facilities, physical geography, emissions, vegetation, and altitude. We then obtained data from different sources such as the Statistics Geographic Information Service and Korean Transport Database. After integrating all available data to a single database by matching coordinate systems and converting non-spatial data to spatial data, we computed geographic variables at 294 regulatory monitoring sites in South Korea. The data integration and variable computation were performed by using ArcGIS version 10.2 (ESRI Inc., Redlands, CA, USA). For traffic, we computed the distances to the nearest roads and the sums of road lengths within different sizes of circular buffers. In addition, we calculated the numbers of residents, households, housing buildings, companies, and employees within the buffers. The percentages of areas for different types of land use compared to total areas were calculated within the buffers. For transportation facilities and physical geography, we computed the distances to the closest public transportation depots and the boundary lines. The vegetation index and altitude were estimated at a given location by using satellite data. The summary statistics of geographic variables in Seoul across monitoring sites showed different patterns between urban background and urban roadside sites. This study provided practical knowledge on the computation process of geographic variables in South Korea, which will improve air pollution prediction models and contribute to subsequent health analyses.

멸종위기 야생생물 I 급 털복주머니란 서식지 복원을 위한 서식지 적합성 지수(HSI) 개발 (Development of Habitat Suitability Index for Habitat Restoration of Class I Endangered Wildlife, Cypripedium guttatum Cw.)

  • This study aimed to develop the HSI (Habitat Suitability Index) model of Cypripedium guttatum. and to verify this model by applying to the candidate sites for replacement habitat. The development of HSI and SI (Suitability Index) model was conducted based on the existing literature, field surveys, and expert opinions for information on ecological habitat characteristics. Seven variables were selected as habitat variables including mean maximum temperature in Jul.-Aug., lighting, slope, altitude, effective soil depth, soil texture, and artificial overexploitation (i.e. protected areas). HSI model was developed for C. guttaum based on these variables. This HSI model showed high applicability to selection and evaluation of replacement habitats for C. guttaum. Our findings could provide the basic information on habitat assessment to prevent the extinction of endangered C. guttatum. However, since there is a limitation that the survey data were insufficient, further field surveys should be conducted on several habitat types to improve the accuracy of the HSI model.

인터넷 상에서의 원격탐사 영상처리 시스템의 설계와 구현 (The Design and Implementation of a Remotely-Sensed Image Processing System using Internet)

  • 최근 원격탐사영상을 이용한 서비스들(환경감시, GIS, 기상정보, 자원탐사 등)에 대한 연 구가 활발해짐에 따라, 원격탐사영상을 지정된 수신국에 등록하고, 처리하는 것이 아니라, 네트웍 을 이용해서 실시간정보를 서비스하거나, 다양한 전문지식을 가진 원격탐사영상 사용자 스스로 개별적인 원격탐사영상처리를 수행하는 것이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 실시간에 원격탐사 영상처리를 할 수 있는시스템 구조를 제안하고, 기존의 시스템에서 처리하지 못했던 여러가지 문 제점들, 즉, 사용자가 직접 원격탐사영상을 처리할 수 없다는 점과 방대한 크기의 원격탐사영상으 로 인한 네트웍 트래픽의 낭비라는 측면을 고려하여, 현재 보편화된 인터넷을 이용하여 사용자와 수신국간의 대화식 통로를 만들고, Java 언어를 이용하여, 수신국의 영상을 효율적으로 처리할 수 있도록 사용자들이 빈번하게 사용하는 영상처리기법들을 구현하였으며, 수신국의 방대한 원격탐 사 영상을 효율적으로 관리하기 위해 객체관계형 데이타베이스 관리시스템을 이용해서 서비스를 구현하였다. 구현된 시스템은 LAN 환경에서 Netscape 웹브라우저와 IllustraDBMS를 이용하였으 며, 서비스 응답시간 측면에서 만족할 만한 성능을 보였다.

공간분석 및 현장조사 평가 기법을 활용한 4대강 강변저류지 조성 후보지 선정 (Determining the Locations of Washland Candidates in the Four Major River Basins Using Spatial Analysis and Site Evaluation)

  • 본 연구에서는 전극 4대강 권역 6개 주요 수계(남한강, 낙동강, 남강, 금강, 영산강 및 섬진강)의 본류를 대상으로 하여 공간분석과 현장조사 및 평가를 통한 강변저류지 조성 후보지를 결정하였다. 강변저류지는 하천변에 배후습지와 연결될 수 있는 대규모 인공습지의 형태로, 홍수조절, 용수공급, 수질정화, 생태문화공간 제공 등 다기능의 목적을 갖고 있다. 또한 조성된 강변저류지는 배후습지로서의 역할 역시 수행이 가능하여, 수문학적 및 생태학적 관점에서 상당히 높은 효율성을 갖는 요소이다. 따라서 강변저류지 조성 효과를 높이기 위한 선행적 절차는 조성 후보지를 선정하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 지리정보와 현장특성 (생태계 연결성, 교육-문화적 여건 등)을 종합적으로 파악하여 분석을 실시하였다. GIS 분석 결과, 각 수계별로 남한강 $71.5\;km^2$, 낙동강 $54.1\;km^2$, 남강 $2.3\;km^2$, 금강 $79.0\;km^2$, 영산강 $46.4\;km^2$, 섬진강 $15.7\;km^2$ 수준의 강변저류지 가능지역이 탐색되었으며, 위치상으로는 중하류부의 하천 합류부 등에서 넓게 분포하는 패턴을 보였다. 이 결과를 바탕으후 총 106개 지점에 대한 현장조사를 실시한 결과, 대체로 남강, 금강 등의 수계에서 배후습지로서 양호한 기능이 기대되는 강변저류지 가능 지점이 주로 분포하였다. 특히 현장 조사 중 낙동강, 섬진강 수계의 일부 지점은 인곤 습지 서식처(우포 등)와의 연계성, 주요 생물분류군 서식처와의 인접성(수달 서식처 등), 문화재 및 생태환경 교육여건(생태학습관, 사찰 등) 이 잘 구축된 경우로 파악되어 매우 양호한 것으로 사료된다. 향후 이들 지점에 대해서 정밀한 수문학적 고찰이 진행될 경우 보다 수문-생태-문화-교육 차원에서 효율적인 강변저류지의 조성이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
