  • With the evocative interests in food safety, food traceability has been spotlighted by researchers as well as consumers. However, food traceability systems are not yet in reality even though there are continuous needs from market. Also, studies about food traceability focus on technical aspects without considering the spectrum of the adoption. In this study, we chose ginseng whose traceability systems are not easily adopted. Innovation-resistance model is employed to find out factors affecting either adoption, resistance or both. As results, we find out the followings. First, relative benefits and reasonableness of cost do not affect adoption and resistance of innovation. Second, there is difference between continuously resisting group and adoption-postponing group.

  • While the role of universities in the modern society has long been a key agenda of discussion, Korean universities have recently tried to get good results in league tables, mostly published by major media. Although the criteria of evaluation are developed through benchmarking and thoughtful discussion, they are still in the process of development and fragile to the question whether they really suggest the future direction of universities. The study seeks to find whether the number of UIC(university industry co-authored articles), as suggested by a few scholars, is meaningful and feasible as an alternative or complement to current performance indices of universities. The adoption of UIC implicitly means that a key role of university should be developing and diffusing knowledge to the society by working with industry participants. We found limited evidence that the index of UIC has meaningful discrepancy with current indices for research, which opens up a new discussion.

  • In this paper, we study the relationships between organization characteristics and desired software quality attributes of enterprise systems. We collected data from three client organizations in three different domains (auto manufacturer, insurance services firm, and government agency) that adopted enterprise software of the same software vendor. Our analysis discovers that capability is a more important attribute to the manufacturing and insurance firms than the government agency. Usability is ranked the highest among other attributes for the government agency and reliability for the manufacturing firm. The relationships identified in this study will help enterprise systems vendors predict their customer needs and, ultimately, increase effectiveness and efficiency in their software development processes. Such findings will be specially useful when software vendors develop enterprise software for a venture firm by enabling them to meet the customer needs customized by the organization haracteristics while staying within the incubating firm's limited budget.

This study examined concepts and characteristics of clusters, and analyzed conditions related to emergence of clusters based on previous studies. Then, this study derived important factors and intended to propose a framework that is possible to help analyze clusters in the future. The development stages were divided into four stages of occurrence, growth, maturity, and decline. As for emergence conditions, entrepreneurship, institutional support, decision factors by development stages, and requirements for the future cluster success were presented. This study has academic significance in that it presents an integrated framework to analyze cluster emergence, and based on it, this study also presents directions of future studies and the regional and national policy implications. However, this study has many limitations in that it is difficult to generalize because it has not considered all variables in various dimensions and environments.

  • The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between corporate firm performance and large shareholder ownership. We use the individual firms listed in KOSDAQ and implement the ordinary least squares regression analysis. Our empirical analysis shows that the relationship between large shareholder ownership and market performance is not in accordance with the preceding studies supporting U type. We document, however, that the empirical analysis shows that the relationship between large shareholder ownership and accounting performance is similar to the reverse U type. A robustness test is implemented to generate a more acute analysis. The robustness test shows that the large shareholder's shareholding of 0-50% supports the interest convergence hypothesis; however, more than 50% of the shareholding shows that the large shareholder ownership is not significantly related to the accounting performance.
