A Study on the Operating Status of Entrepreneurship Education Center in Korea (국내 창업교육센터 운영현황에 관한 연구)

  • Recently our government has presented the realization of 'Creative Economy' as a primary goal of the state administration through encouraging start-ups and ventures. Activation of entrepreneurship education is an important task for a national job creation and entrepreneurship activation policy. Since 2012, as a mid and long term project, the Korea Ministry of Education has led to activate creative entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial culture within university by installing entrepreneurship centers respectively in 61 universities. In this study, we provide future entrepreneurship improvement subject and policy implication through the case analysis of entrepreneurship center operation and management. In order to achieve the research purpose, we will examine the program and condition of successful entrepreneurship centers in overseas universities and explore the factors that can enhance domestic entrepreneurship center development and operational effectiveness by analyzing 61 university-entrepreneurship center survey. First, primary research was conducted through survey focusing on organization and operation of centers, entrepreneurship education, startup support for students and entrepreneurship culture activation to proceed with comparative analysis. Through this case study, we expect to be able to derive policy implications for the effective operation of entrepreneurship center and the nurture of creative entrepreneurial young generation.

  • This study analyzed universities's entrepreneurship education curriculum and variety programs through visiting to five entrepreneurship centers. Through these analyzes, the study presents a basic frame work for prosperous entrepreneurship education in Korea. We have selected for visiting research universities in the middle east of the United states; University of Iowa, University of Missouri(Kansas City), Saint Louis University, University of Louisville and George Washington University. We visited entrepreneurship center of each university in order to have in-depth interview with professor who is responsible for building entrepreneurship curriculum and administrative director of entrepreneurial programs so that we research how university progresses entrepreneurship education at undergraduate level. The study, at the time of 61 universities selected for LINC project by the Korea Ministry of Education who expects Industrial-Academia cooperative effects just installed each entrepreneurship center, analyzed case study of operational practice and entrepreneurship education curriculum for the effective operation of entrepreneurship centers in universities. We believe that the study will be able to provide a richer and more accurate information and ideas since the all the analysis is based on the firsthand interview by visiting.

  • Entrepreneurship works as a driving force in socio-economic innovation, the leading role in job creation and economic development. As the importance of entrepreneurship is increased, research on entrepreneurship training methods based on the capability model is vitalized in order to effectively develop entrepreneurship in the EU and OECD. In Korea, however, the research on entrepreneurship capability is nearly not proceeding while the outcome of entrepreneurship training is insufficient. The research, therefore, invented the entrepreneurship training model at K university after analyzing cases of entrepreneurship training from inside and outside of the country followed up through the theoretical consideration of entrepreneurship capability and collecting suggestions from experts. The training model rejects the existing economics-based theory education, focuses on the development of entrepreneurship capability, and suggests an educational process considering students' developing stage of entrepreneurship capabilities.

  • Entrepreneurship is the act of being an entrepreneur or one who undertakes innovations or introducing new things, finance and business in an effort to transform innovations into economic benefits. This result in new organizations or may be part of revitalizing mature organizations in response to a perceived opportunity. The most obvious form of entrepreneurship is that of starting new businesses, or startup company. However, in recent years, the term has been extended to include social and political forms of entrepreneurial activity. Interest in the entrepreneurship education has increased significantly in now. The 61 universities made the entrepreneurship education center in the four year university and college through the government LINC program. We need the questions about the what, who and why for entrepreneurship education. Kauffman Campus Initiative(KCI) guide us to the direction of the entrepreneurship center for the future. The considerations are as follows; what is center's managerial structure, what kind of program and activities is provided, what is factors to be interested, participated in the education, how can be sustainable entrepreneurial center?. This study provide four implicit for the centers. More broad definition of entrepreneurship for the education, diverse textbook and subjects for the entrepreneurship, coach development for the teaching, and the sustainable leadership.

The Effect of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practical Education on Career Maturity: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Problem Solving Ability (창업 이론 및 실습교육이 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향: 문제해결능력 매개 효과 중심으로)

  • Recently, the necessity and importance of entrepreneurship education in universities in terms of nurturing creative talents and career paths have been emphasized. This study attempted to examine the mechanism of how the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education affects career maturity by dividing it into theoretical education and practical entrepreneurship education with problem-solving competency rather than a single dimension. This study performed an empirical analysis using Smart PLS for 153 college students. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, it was found that theoretical and practical entrepreneurship education had a significant positive (+) effect on problem-solving ability. Second, theoretical entrepreneurship education had a positive (+) effect on career maturity. but practical entrepreneurship education did not have a direct significant effect on career maturity. Third, problem-solving ability had a positive (+) effect on career maturity. Finally, the mediating effect analysis revealed that problem-solving ability had mediating effects on both entrepreneurship education and career maturity of college students. In conclusion, this study has its significance in that it presents the effectiveness and direction of entrepreneurship education both in theory and practice at a time when it is urgent to foster inspiring and creative talent in universities to meet the demands of the times. In particular, it was analyzed that entrepreneurship education conducted at universities is required to upgrade the curriculum, content, methodology, and subject design of practical entrepreneurship education, and there is an urgent need for improvement so that the effect of practical entrepreneurship education can have a significant effect on career maturity.

An Analysis Of Entrepreneurship Programs at U.S. College and Universities: Focusing on Implications for Entrepreneurship Ecosystem of Korean Universities (미국 주요대학들의 창업 프로그램 분석: 한국 대학의 창업생태계 구축의 시사점 연구)

  • This article focuses on an analysis of entrepreneurship education programs at U.S. college and universities in order to determine distinctive features of those programs. To this end, we delved into the entrepreneurship programs including Martin Trust Center for MIT, Harvard University VIP program, Polsky Center of Chicago University and Stanford University program. By analyzing major roles, curriculums, and characteristics of the programs, three types of distinctive features emerged. The first feature is dynamic education-focused programs, which provide students with opportunities for applying what they have learned through startup competitions. The second is local-based programs, which take the lead in local startups by focusing on the local industry. The third is the programs with support and encouragement for startups. Based on the three types of features, we suggested critical factors for successful entrepreneurship education.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the service quality of entrepreneurship education, academic self - efficacy, and learning commitment in college students. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, the difference of entrepreneurship education with professors of entrepreneurship education has a significant influence on the learning commitment, and the operation of entrepreneurship education has no significant influence. Second, the difference of entrepreneurship education and the operation of entrepreneurship education have a significant effect on academic self - efficacy, while the entrepreneurship professional instructor has no significant influence. Third, academic self - efficacy has a significant effect on learning commitment. Fourth, in the relationship between the service quality of entrepreneurship education and learning commitment, the academic self-efficiency was found to have a mediated effect.

  • Recently, many policies and fairs have been made in relation to start-ups. In addition, various start-up education for prospective start-ups is being conducted in various ways. Therefore, these days, the number of prospective start-ups who receive such information and start-up education is increasing. Nevertheless, more and more start-ups are still unsuccessful and close their businesses within months or years. In particular, start-ups who continue to maintain their start-ups also see the unfortunate reality of start-ups that find other jobs in various support systems and related policies and relationships that they cannot quit even if they want to. In this study, based on previous studies, factors for satisfaction with entrepreneurship education will be set and a questionnaire will be conducted for prospective entrepreneurs who have completed education at a startup education center in Seoul. The survey results are intended to verify their reliability and validity through empirical analysis. The SPSS statistical package will be used for analysis, and a total of 200 copies of the questionnaire will be distributed and collected. In this study, it was confirmed that the higher the satisfaction with entrepreneurship education, the better the successful entrepreneurship. In addition, I think that further developing various policies or detailed curriculums for entrepreneurship education will be of great help to prospective entrepreneurs taking entrepreneurship education.

  • In this study, explored how university entrepreneurial education service quality affects Satisfaction of Entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention. Real-Time Entrepreneurship Education is being Promoted through Professional Entrepreneur in the field of Entrepreneurship Education. It is necessary to study the ways of establishment of university Entrepreneurship through Ground Theory. on the basis of previous studies, three factors were university entrepreneurial education service quality : materiality, consensual, differentiation. First, in this study is university entrepreneurial education service quality(materiality, consensual, differentiation) of entrepreneurial education specialist utilization was evaluated on the survey results. Second, in this on the influence of Satisfaction of Entrepreneurship education of entrepreneurial intention. Third, regarding how university entrepreneurial education service quality affects the entrepreneurial intention, this study was intended to verify the mediating effects of entrepreneurial education specialist utilization. First, This study on the influence that materiality, consensual, differentiation of Satisfaction of Entrepreneurship education. Second, entrepreneurial Satisfaction of Entrepreneurship education have an effect on the entrepreneurial intention. Third, This study on the influence consensual, differentiation has been verified to have mediating effects of entrepreneurial intention of Satisfaction of Entrepreneurship education. materiality, entrepreneurial intention of entrepreneurial education specialist utilization has no mediating effect. This result, It was found that the practical education related to entrepreneurship contributed to the revitalization of the university, such as the interest for the students and the educational goal for the entrepreneurship rather than the convenience facilities and establishment of good environment for entrepreneurship education. factors for Satisfaction of Entrepreneurship education were found that consensual and differentiation on entrepreneurial intention. For this study, question and result of the study were obtained for the students who start-up course of K engineering university.

  • In this study, we have looked into how factors of 'entrepreneurship' and 'entrepreneurship education satisfaction' affect the 'entrepreneurial intentions'. Regarding how entrepreneurship affects the entrepreneurial intentions, this study was intended to verify the mediating effect(s) of 'entrepreneurship education satisfaction'. Was a survey of the startup classes of K university students take to achieve the objects of the present study, the result of th empirical relationship between th variables is as follows. This study shows that the achievement needs and risk taking of the entrepreneurship have meaningful (+) effect on the entrepreneurial intentions, And also 'entrepreneurship education satisfaction' is positively mediating 'the achievement needs' and 'the risk taking', but not applied to ambiguity acceptance of entrepreneurship. This study implies that growing confidence and entrepreneurial spirit through entrepreneurship expert education have positive effect on entrepreneurial intentions. For this study, we have conducted a survey targeting the students who take a class of entrepreneurship in K institute of Technology.
