In the rapidly changing business environment, the intention to start a new business is strengthening. In this study, in order to confirm the effect on the entrepreneurial intention, the relationship and the effect among technical capability, and job satisfaction, and entrepreneurship, which are the second order factor consisting of risk taking, desire for achievement, and innovativeness, on entrepreneurial intention were analyzed to identify the effect of business intentions from the perspective of knowledge management.. To this end, the proposed research model was statistically verified using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model. Under analysis, survey data were collected online for 280 employees currently in the workplace, and the research model was empirically analyzed through the structural equation model. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that all the suggested variables had a significant effect on the entrepreneurial intention, and that job satisfaction had a negative moderating effect on entrepreneurial intention by interacting with entrepreneurship. The results of this study are expected to provide practical and theoretical implications from a knowledge management perspective.
Existing knowledge regarding the antecedents of the entrepreneurial orientation (EO) of firms is somewhat limited given the emphasis on its performance implications. To address this research gap, this study aims to explore the drivers of entrepreneurial orientation using the resource-based view (RBV) and contingency perspective. To test our hypotheses, this study uses 225 survey data collected from Korean exporters. Results show that the level of entrepreneurial orientation varies depending on organizational characteristics such as firm size and internationalization of the firm. Our findings also support the tenet of the contingency perspective by showing the influences of environmental characteristics such as technological turbulence and market uncertainty on the entrepreneurial orientation of firms. Our empirical research provides academic and practical implications for the field of entrepreneurship.
This research focuses on entrepreneurial orientation(EO) of technology spin-offs as they are expected to reduce the gap between their technology and the market. Entrepreneurial orientation is an organizational activity or process that redistributes or combines resources in an innovative way and takes risk to create new values. It helps improve the level of organizational innovation to deal with uncertainty. An empirical study was performed to analyze the EO of spin-offs established by members of university faculties and research institutes in Korea. Antecedent variables to EO are hypothesized to include public policy for university faculty members and researchers at research institutes, the relationship with incubating organizations, and the level of social networking with other firms. The EO and technological performance relationships are also hypothesized. Data from a total of 121 spin-off organizations were collected and a series of multiple regressions were performed. The performance variable included both technological performance, such as the number of newly marketed products and new technology and subjective performance, such as the level of satisfaction with sales amount and profitability. Several important conclusions were drawn from this study. First, while government policy is not related to EO, the policy of a university or a research institute has a significant effect on the level of innovativeness. Second, a high percentage of human resources applied at the incubating organization results in a negative effect on risk taking. The level of cooperation with the incubating organization too is not related to Entrepreneurial Orientation. Third, the intensity of cooperative networking with other firms has a significant effect on risk-taking. Network relationship with government related organizations is not related to Entrepreneurial Orientation. This study analyzes the importance and role of policy of the university and research institute and networking with other firms to improve EO. It also suggests that a high composition of human resources at the incubating organization has a negative relationship with EO.

The cases of entrepreneurial universities who conduct enterprisers like activities are increasing continuously in these days. Entrepreneurial activities by universities include university enterprises establishment and management, direct and indirect investment, incubating startup businesses, and diverse university-industry cooperation. In this study, the roles and contributions of universities in the development of science parks are explored with a case of Zhongguancun in Beijing. In particular, the roles of four universities such as Peking, Tsinghua, Renmin, and Chinese Academy of Science were intensively focused and investigated. Interpretive case research methodology was adopted for this study and in-depth interview and secondary data analysis methods were used for the investigation. The result of this study suggests that universities can do essential roles in the development of science parks and can contribute to the development and growth of science parks through proactive and direct economic activities as well as traditional and defensive university-industry cooperation.

Personal time perspective is a factor influencing motivation and goal-oriented behavior. The start-up process is a preparatory process for the future rather than the present. There will be a difference in entrepreneurial decision making depending on the level of time perspective. This study verified the relationship between individual 's time perspective and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. For this study, a survey was conducted with 190 students in college. To test the hypothesis, t-test, one-way analysis of variance and correlation analysis were used. The results of the study are as follows. First, we analyzed the difference of individual 's time by past-negative, past-positive, present-fatalistic, present-hedonistic, and future-oriented time. As a result of analysis, the more experience of entrepreneurship education, the higher the present-fatalistic, present-hedonistic, and future-oriented level. Second, the effect of individual's time perspective on entrepreneurial self-efficacy was analyzed. The past-negative and present-fatalistic level influenced negative on entrepreneurial self-efficacy. The present-hedonistic and future-oriented level influenced positive on entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Finally, based on the above results, academic significance, implications and limitations are suggested.

This study examined the influence of three elements of individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO), namely innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness on the performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It is worth noting that SMEs have experienced low productivity, low profit, and low performance during the COVID-19 pandemic era. Although several studies have shown that entrepreneurial orientation (EO) is a key factor of company performance, few have focused on IEO. This study employed a quantitative research design because all variables were measurable. It used a questionnaire to survey 384 SMEs in the service sector and employed structural equation modeling (SEM) in data analysis. The findings suggested that SMEs' performance was influenced by risk-taking and proactiveness. This could be related to the fact that SMEs have a less formal structure, allowing owner-managers to take risks and make quick decisions. Furthermore, high performance was ensured by being very sensitive to market trends and changes in the business environment. Innovativeness was not a significant factor in influencing the performance of SMEs. Perhaps it was rather difficult for SME owner-managers to be innovative due to the lack of various resources. This study successfully re-confirmed the effect of IEO on business performance and highlighted the importance of risk-taking and proactiveness in improving the performance of SMEs.

The objectives of this study is to assess the influence of individual characteristics and economic environment on the entrepreneurship such as entrepreneurial Intention and behavior based on the theory of Planned behaviors. This study used a country-level merged data set composed of GEM(Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) data and the OECD Statistics data. And this used the fixed effect model to analyze the panel data of 31 OECD countries during the period from 2005 to 2014. Our findings show that subjective norm has a significantly positive effect on entrepreneurial intention. In individual characteristics, the perceived opportunities has a significantly positive effect on early-stage entrepreneurial activity(TEA) and improvement-driven opportunity entrepreneurial activity. We identify the differences of between necessity-driven and improvement-driven opportunity entrepreneurial activity. For example, the effect on necessity-driven entrepreneurial activity is significantly negative. We also find the differences of between necessity-driven and improvement-driven opportunity entrepreneurial activity in economic environment variables. While real GDP growth as a demand variable has a significantly positive effect on necessity-driven entrepreneurial activity, unemployment rate as a supply variable has a significantly negative effect on early-stage entrepreneurial activity(TEA) and improvement-driven opportunity entrepreneurial activity. And GDP per capita as a supply variable has a significantly positive effect on early-stage entrepreneurial activity(TEA) and improvement-driven opportunity entrepreneurial activity. But the effect on necessity-driven entrepreneurial activity is significantly negative. We provide an interpretation of these empirical findings, emphasizing the importance of considering individual characteristics and economic environment simultaneously in promoting entrepreneurship.

In venture creation research, studying 'entrepreneurial leadership' is important for uncovering and comprehending the underlying causal process in innovative behavior performance. Although previous studies provide that entrepreneurial leadership enhances followers' innovative behavior, there is few research on entrepreneurial leadership and followers' characteristics interaction. The present study's focus is paradoxical effects of entrepreneurial leadership on self-efficacy and innovative behavior. On the basis of individual regulatory focus, this study suggests that interaction effects of entrepreneurial leadership and followers' regulatory focus differed in promotion view and prevention view followers' innovative behavior. To strengthen the casual mechanism, this study conducted in priming experiment method using employees in SMEs. This study used a 2(entrepreneurial leadership vs. control) x 2 (regulatory focus: promotion vs. prevention) between-participants design. The results of this study provide that (1) Individuals in promotion focus especially benefited from entrepreneurial leadership in terms of its effect on their self-efficacy and innovative behavior; (2) whereas entrepreneurial leadership was negatively related to self-efficacy and innovative behavior of followers' prevention focus. In sum, results of the present study supporting evidence for hypotheses, combined effect of entrepreneurial leadership and regulatory focus on innovative behavior through self-efficacy. Experimental results confirmed hypotheses of this study, revealing that promotion focus show more innovative behavior than prevention focus when their leaders' leadership style is entrepreneurial leadership. Also, the paradoxical effect of entrepreneurial leadership and regulatory focus of followers on innovative behavior was mediated by followers' self-efficacy. This study helps explain how leaders' entrepreneurial leadership boost followers' innovative behavior, particularly for those employees who have promotion focus. The current study contributes to the theory of entrepreneurial leadership and regulatory focus and innovation literature. Findings of this study shed light on the organizational processes that shape innovative behavior in venture/startup corporations and provide contributions for venture business field.

This paper is to investigate how cognitive bias of college students and entrepreneurs relates to perceived risks and entrepreneurial opportunities that represent uncertainty, and how various cognitive bias and entrepreneurial efficacy In the same way. The purpose of this study is to find improvement points of entrepreneurship education for college students and to suggest problems and improvement possibilities in the decision making process of current entrepreneurs. This empirical study is a necessary to improve the decision-making of individuals who want to start a business at the time when various attempts are made to activate the start-up business and increase the sustainability of the existing SME management. And understanding of the difference in opportunity evaluation, and suggests that it is necessary to provide good opportunities together with the upbringing of entrepreneurs. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, questionnaires were conducted for college students and entrepreneurs. A total of 363 questionnaire data were obtained and demonstrated through structural equation modeling. This study confirms that there is some relationship between perceived risk and cognitive bias. Overconfidence and control illusions among cognitive bias have a significant relationship between perceived risk and wealth. Especially, it is confirmed that control illusion of college students has a significant relationship with perceived risk. Second, cognitive bias demonstrated some significant relationship with opportunity evaluation. Although we did not find evidence that excess self-confidence is related to opportunity evaluation, we have verified that control illusions and current status bias are related to opportunity evaluation. Control illusions were significant in both college students and entrepreneurs. Third, perceived risk has a negative relationship with opportunity evaluation. All students, regardless of whether they are college students or entrepreneurs, judge opportunities positively if they perceive low risk. Fourth, it can be seen from the college students 'group that entrepreneurial efficacy has a moderating effect between perceived risk and opportunity evaluation, but no significant results were found in the entrepreneurs' group. Fifth, the college students and entrepreneurs have different cognitive bias, and they have proved that there is a different relationship between entrepreneurial opportunity evaluation and perceived risk. On the whole, there are various cognitive biases that are caused by time pressure or stress on college students and entrepreneurs who have to make judgments in uncertain opportunities, and in this respect, they can improve their judgment in the future. At the same time, university students can have a positive view of new opportunities based on high entrepreneurial efficacy, but if they fully understand the intrinsic risks of entrepreneurship through entrepreneurial education and fully understand the cognitive bias present in direct entrepreneurial experience, You will get a better opportunity assessment. This study has limitations in that it is based on the fact that university students and entrepreneurs are integrated, and that the survey respondents are selected by the limited random sampling method. It is necessary to conduct more systematic research based on more faithful data in the absence of the accumulation of entrepreneurial research data. Second, the translation tools used in the previous studies were translated and the meaning of the measurement tools might not be conveyed due to language differences. Therefore, it is necessary to construct a more precise scale for the accuracy of the study. Finally, complementary research should be done to identify what competitive opportunities are and what opportunities are appropriate for entrepreneurs.

While the number of female entrepreneurs has been increasing, and female entrepreneurship has been increasingly perceived as a driving force of sustainable economic development, there is a lack of studies of female entrepreneurship, particularly in the non-Western regions. This study aims to explore current levels of entrepreneurial competences of female college students in four Asian countries (i.e., Indonesia, Korea, Philippines, and Vietnam), differences in the competences between countries, and factors affecting their entrepreneurial competences. Using online surveys, the present study collected data from 516 female Asian college students and examined their entrepreneurial competences in six dimensions-entrepreneurship, sensibility, business management, relationship management, strategic management, and multi-tasking. This study also investigated effects of four variables (i.e., entrepreneurship course taking experiences, on-campus entrepreneurship experiences, off-campus entrepreneurship experiences, and entrepreneurial intentions) on the six aspects of entrepreneurial competences. Data analysis reveals that female Asian college students as a whole group possess quite high levels of entrepreneurial competences while the Filipino students show the biggest competence in all the six dimensions measured. As regards affecting factors, this study finds that, in the total sample, regression equations are significant in all the six dimensions of entrepreneurial competences. On-campus experiences have significantly positive effects on those six dimensions while course taking experiences and entrepreneurial intentions positively affect three different dimensions each. However, out-of-campus experiences turn out to be negative though their effects are insignificant. Meanwhile, in individual samples, different factors affect different dimensions of entrepreneurial competences. Based on these findings, the present study suggests some actions for promoting female entrepreneurship and for conducting future studies.
