Entrepreneurial resilience is one of the core competencies that young entrepreneurs should own. However, compared to its importance, related studies about this topic are rare, especially in Korea. Therefore, this study, for empirical analysis, included resilience to the research model expanding existing research. The purpose of this study is to identify the direct effects of perceived norms of young entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial resilience on entrepreneurial intentions, and to identify the mediated effects between perceived norm, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention. The data used in this research were collected through questionnaires from 443 potential young entrepreneurs. Our experimental result show that social norm and entrepreneurial self-efficacy were positively related to entrepreneurial resilience. Moreover, personal norm, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial resilience were statistically significant on intention of entrepreneurial. As a result of the indirect effect, entrepreneurial resilience mediates the relationship between social norms, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention. Finally, this research has significant meaning because it shows the importance of entrepreneurial resilience to entrepreneurial intention of young entrepreneurs. However, the limitation of this study relates to the restriction of sample in certain regions and universities.
Purpose: The current study aims at knowing and testing factors supporting business and how to distribute it for resilience business in new normal era. Factors Supporting business resilience will be seen in terms of entrepreneurial competence, technology utilization and government support for business resilience through entrepreneurial spirit as an intervening variable. Research design, data, and methodology: A constructed questionnaire in direct survey and interview was conducted with 97 respondents in South Sulawesi. Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis, was utilized to analyze and verify all the data. Results: This study indicated entrepreneurial competence and utilization of technology have a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial spirit, while government support has no significant effect on entrepreneurial spirit. This study also indicated that entrepreneurial spirit has a significant effect on business resilience. Conclusion: To increase business resilience, it is very important to have entrepreneurial skills and mastery on utilization of technology. To anticipate future crises, entrepreneurial competencies must be evenly distributed both for business owners and for all members of the organization. To institutionalize crisis management in business, it is important for SMEs in Indonesia to develop an institutionalized Business Crisis Management.
Entrepreneurial self-efficacy and self-efficacy on the positive effects of new firm creation are well developed in past research. However, marketing self-efficacy has not received enough attention on the prediction of entrepreneurial intention despite marketing and entrepreneurship are crucial when creating a new firm. Moreover, resilience has a central role in entrepreneurship research while present study aims to explore the impact of psychological factors on new venture creation but scholars have not begun to uncover specific mechanism through which marketing self-efficacy, resilience and entrepreneurial intention. The purpose of this study then was to examine resilience as mediator in the marketing self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention relationship. Questionnaires were employed to collect data from major universities of future entrepreneurs in Korea. A total of 315 completed questionnaires were returned. Results showed that marketing self-efficacy and resilience had a positive effect on entrepreneurial intention. Further, resilience had a significant mediating effect on the marketing self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention relationship. These results suggest theoretical and practical implications as an important factor to stimulate entrepreneurial intention.
This study empirical analysed how senior's technical stress and self-efficacy affected entrepreneurial intentions and whether resilience functioned as a mediating effects between them. 207 data were collected from the field survey questionnaires administered to a convenience sample of senior men and women aged 40 and over who had entrepreneurial intentions. For hypothesis testing, the IBM SPSS Statistics 24.0 was used. Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. Empirical studies showed as follows. First, technical stress affected senior's entrepreneurial intentions. Second, self-efficacy turned out to affect senior's entrepreneurial intentions. Third, resilience came out to have a partial-mediating effects between technical stress and the senior's entrepreneurial intentions as well as between self-efficacy and the senior's entrepreneurial intentions. These research outcomes supported the preceding studies that self-efficacy played key roles in maximizing senior's entrepreneurial intentions and demonstrated the importance of self-efficacy as an independent variable for seniors to promote entrepreneurial activities with an intention of starting a new business. Furthermore, the technical stress newly introduced as an independent variable was found to be the next most important factor after the self-efficacy. The study also confirmed that the resilience has been doing an partial-mediating effects. However, it appeared that the technical stress affected the will of start-up, but it appeared to be a positive relationship. For generalization of this finding, further studies are required.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of firm resilience, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This study aimed to investigate the concept of SME resilience, the role of entrepreneurial orientation in enhancing firm resilience, and the impact of top management networking capability on this relationship. The study defined firm resilience as consisting of adaptation capacity and recovery capacity and conducted a survey of 187 domestic SMEs for empirical verification. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial orientation is a critical factor in enhancing firm resilience. Furthermore, the networking capability of top management may also contribute to firm resilience, but it weakens the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and firm resilience as a moderating variable. In crisis situations, SMEs tend to rely more strongly on existing networks, rather than engaging in new network to acquire new resources, information, and knowledge, which can hinder their ability to adapt and recover. This study contributes to the further development and understanding of SME resilience, which is essential for enterprises to overcome crises and return to pre-shock levels.
This study comprises critical questions of "What kinds of intangible resources are significant to create and reinforce competitive advantages for the small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) that significantly influence the national economy? What kinds of capacities do SMEs need in consideration with the large changes in market environment and during crisis? With large changes to market environment, would different capacities affect performance of platform and general SMEs?" To examine these questions, I have provided Entrepreneurial Orientation, Absorptive Capacity, and Organizational Resilience as key capacities that influence the competitive advantage and performance of SMEs. In particular, I have substantiated the control effect of Organizational Resilience (a rising key capacity for enterprises in recent times) on Corporate Performance. Moreover, I have analyzed the control effect of Organizational Resilience on Corporate Performance by comparing platform and general companies, and also substantiated how control effects may vary depending on sub-factors of Organizational Resilience. The results of this study indicate that Entrepreneurial Orientation and Absorptive Capacity significantly and positively influence Corporate Performance. Organizational Resilience also demonstrate a positive influence on Corporate Performance. Notably, sub-factors of Organizational Resilience (risk preparation capacity, risk response capacity, and change initiative capacity) significantly control correlation between Entrepreneurial Orientation and Corporate Performance. Risk preparation capacity and change initiative capacity significantly control correlation between Absorptive Capacity and Corporate Performance. Additionally, the control effect of risk preparation capacity significantly control correlation between Entrepreneurial Orientation and Corporate Performance. Also, the control effect of risk response capacity correlations between Entrepreneurial Orientation and Corporate Performance demonstrated themselves significantly only in platform enterprises. The study's results indicate that Organizational Resilience not only directly influence Corporate Performance, but also strengthens Corporate Performance via mutual interaction with Entrepreneurial Orientation and Absorptive Capacity, although the control effect of Organizational Resilience may vary between platform enterprises and general enterprises. I expect such results to provide practical value to the management of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

There is a growing interest in the entrepreneurial activity that has long been considered essential for sustainable economic development and value creating. Although it is strongly encouraged by focusing on the positive aspects of venturing, less has been paid attention to entrepreneurial failure, which is the biggest cause of hesitation in starting a business. The uncertain and risky nature of entrepreneurship implies a considerable possibility of failure. Even if it fails, the experience and knowledge of entrepreneurs acquired through entrepreneurship indeed offers valuable lessons for the re-venturing, which can serve as an important social asset that should not be lost. It has been argued that re-entering the same industry for the subsequent venture maximizes the learning effect through utilizing potential benefits from industry-specific knowledge. Although the re-startup after entrepreneurial failure is a very important topic in the studies on serial entrepreneurs, there is a paucity of systematic empirical investigation. This study responds to calls for more research on the re-startup after entrepreneurial failure, and specifically complements existing studies on serial entrepreneurs. Focusing on the entrepreneurs' attribution for the failure, we conducted an empirical analysis of how this affects the re-startup process. Moreover, we also examined the moderating effects of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and resilience. For the analyses, we surveyed the entrepreneurs who tried to re-start the subsequent business after the entrepreneurial failure through the "Revitalization Center for Strained Entrepreneur". The results found that failed entrepreneurs who blamed internal factors for their previous venture failures were likely to keep the same industry for their subsequent business. In addition, the positive effect of internal attribution on maintaining the same industry for the re-startup was found to be stronger when entrepreneurial self-efficacy and resilience were high.

This study aims to analyze multi-path mediating effect of resilience and entrepreneurship on the relationship between learned helplessness ann entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE). Research sample consisted of 154 university students in Gyeonggi-Do. The results of this research is as follows: First, learned helplessness showed a negative effects on entrepreneurship and ESE. Second, resilience showed a positive effects on entrepreneurship and ESE. Third, the mediating effect of resilience was significant on the relationship between learned helplessness and ESE. Fourth, entrepreneurship turned out to mediate on the relationship between learned helplessness and ESE. Finally, resilience and entrepreneurship had shown multi-path mediating effects on the relationship between learned helplessness and ESE (learned helplessness→resilience→entrepreneurship→ESE). In particular, this study conclude with implications for future research, limitations of this research, and practical application.

Recently, as the domestic job problem has become serious, government ministries are investing a lot of budgets to encourage startups by prospective entrepreneurs. What is important to the success of startups is the recognition of various startup opportunities before starting a startup, and the experience through trial. However, in reality, prospective entrepreneurs recognize and seek various startup opportunities through support such as startup education and initial commercialization funds through various government supported projects, but it is difficult to actually start a business. Previous studies have revealed that the recognition of entrepreneurial opportunities affects entrepreneurial intentions by various variables such as gender, but research is insufficient on what kind of black box exists between the recognition of entrepreneurial opportunities and entrepreneurial intentions. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of positive psychological capital as a major method for improving the entrepreneurial intention, and to analyze exploratorily whether positive psychological capital plays a mediating role between the recognition of entrepreneurial opportunities and the entrepreneurial intention. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the recognition of startup opportunities affects the intention to start a business, and positive psychological capital has a mediating effect between the recognition of the startup opportunity and the intention to start a business. This means that positive psychological capital is important in order to lead to actual entrepreneurial intentions after recognizing a startup opportunity. Therefore, in order to revitalize the startups of prospective entrepreneurs in the current startup ecosystem, it is necessary to prepare a plan to improve the recognition of startup opportunities and positive psychological capital.
Japan's manufacturing is mostly dependent on the automotive industry in Toyota-Kariya cities. However, the nearby city of Hamamatsu is the home of a start-up ecosystem known as Japan's Silicon Valley. How is it possible to evaluate the innovative potential of each regional industry? What kind of guidelines exist for continuing R&D investment when companies' net incomes are negative in the face of the 'Valley-of-Death' or financial crisis? Is it possible to measure the regional resilience ability in the context of the financial crisis? Entrepreneurial innovation is defined as a real-option portfolio consisting of investment decision to commercialize R&D findings. The subcontractor system implies a vertical and tight industrial group. However, a start-up ecosystem means a platform for horizontal and flexible partnership. In this research, the data include the financial indices of each of 18 public companies in both regions between FY2009 and FY2017. The objective of this paper is to clarify the call option or resilience function of equity for R&D investment in the context of the financial crisis in both regions by using Bayesian MCMC analysis.
