This study is to find the effectiveness of the invitational training in healthcare field of developing countries through grasping the change of the national image of Korea. To this end, we collected data on the satisfaction on the invitational training from 192 participants of short-term and long-term training programs conducted by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare(KOFIH). T-test, ANOVA analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the national image was enhanced after the invitational training. Second, satisfaction on contents of the training programs had a significant positive (+) effect on the national image. Third, English proficiency and nationality influenced national image significantly. According to this study, it was confirmed that the invitational training in healthcare was influential for enhancing the national image. To enhance the effectiveness of the invitational training, it is necessary to study the contents of the training program and the process of selecting the participants.

Intuitive learning method was applied at the beginning of each lecture to induce students to draw their interests. Avoiding simple explanation of equations and problem solving by using them, we repeated theoretical concepts verbally and applied physical meanings when we developed and wrote equations. By these methods we expected to find a way to increase students' learning effects. We also took a group investigation on pursuing term projects. Students choose their own subjects individually and submitted reports according to the time schedule. The reports included the contents that they learned during classes. After choosing best reports for each group by instructor, students at each group divided roles and prepared presentations. Thorough these methods they increased their scores from mid-term to final exams, and got aquatinted with responsibilities among group and organizations. They also experienced physical meanings from the usual daily life phenomena which could be connected to the engineering concepts and improved abilities as junior engineers.

Purpose: Although innovative interventions using technologies have been introduced in long-term care settings, available evidence is still anecdotal. The purpose of this study is to investigate and synthesize the outcomes of interventions using technologies delivered to nursing home residents. Methods: Published clinical trials were identified through PubMed, CINHAL, Cochrane and PsycINFO databases and manually hand-searching. Eligible studies were articles published between 1997-2016 in English or Korean with a randomized controlled trial or quasi-experimental design in which interventions using technologies were delivered to nursing home residents. Results: A total of 20 studies were selected for this review. Types of interventions using technologies were classified into the electronic documentation technology (n=1), the clinical decision support system (n=1), the safety technology (n=1), the health and wellness technology (n=10), and the social connectedness technology (n=7). Overall resident outcomes indicated that interventions using technologies improved behavioral symptoms and psycho-social outcomes, but mixed results were shown in the aspects of physical function, cognitive function, social relationship and quality of service. Conclusion: This review demonstrates that incorporating technologies into nursing home care have positive effects on residents' psycho-social outcomes and behavioral symptoms. To disseminate the effectiveness of interventions using technologies, further research is needed to determine what mechanisms underlying such relationships exist.
Recently, in the field of Speech Emotion Recognition (SER), many studies have been conducted to improve accuracy using voice features and modeling. In addition to modeling studies to improve the accuracy of existing voice emotion recognition, various studies using voice features are being conducted. This paper, voice files are separated by time interval in a time series method, focusing on the fact that voice emotions are related to time flow. After voice file separation, we propose a model for classifying emotions of speech data by extracting speech features Mel, Chroma, zero-crossing rate (ZCR), root mean square (RMS), and mel-frequency cepstrum coefficients (MFCC) and applying them to a recurrent neural network model used for sequential data processing. As proposed method, voice features were extracted from all files using 'librosa' library and applied to neural network models. The experimental method compared and analyzed the performance of models of recurrent neural network (RNN), long short-term memory (LSTM) and gated recurrent unit (GRU) using the Interactive emotional dyadic motion capture Interactive Emotional Dyadic Motion Capture (IEMOCAP) english dataset.

Chinese named entity recognition (NER) is a challenging work that seeks to find, recognize and classify various types of information elements in unstructured text. Due to the Chinese text has no natural boundary like the spaces in the English text, Chinese named entity identification is much more difficult. At present, most deep learning based NER models are developed using a bidirectional long short-term memory network (BiLSTM), yet the performance still has some space to improve. To further improve their performance in Chinese NER tasks, we propose a new NER model, IDCNN-BiLSTM-Highway, which is a combination of the BiLSTM, the iterated dilated convolutional neural network (IDCNN) and the highway network. In our model, IDCNN is used to achieve multiscale context aggregation from a long sequence of words. Highway network is used to effectively connect different layers of networks, allowing information to pass through network layers smoothly without attenuation. Finally, the global optimum tag result is obtained by introducing conditional random field (CRF). The experimental results show that compared with other popular deep learning-based NER models, our model shows superior performance on two Chinese NER data sets: Resume and Yidu-S4k, The F1-scores are 94.98 and 77.59, respectively.
This study reviews empirical studies that investigated the impact of marketization of long-term care services on quality of care in Korea, England, Sweden, United States, and Japan. The trend and characteristics of marketization and regulatory system in those countries were compared. Since 2008 when long-term care insurance was introduced in Korea, we selected and reviewed empirical studies which were listed in the National Research Foundation, PubMed and Web of Science and examined the relationship between marketization and quality of care. Seven Korean, three English, two Swedish, seven American studies and one Japan study were identified and there was little evidence supporting that marketization would lead to better quality of care. Specifically, competition had no consistent relationship with quality of care while there was little evidence supporting that for-profit nursing homes tended to exhibit greater quality of care compared to non-for-profit nursing homes. The chains of for-profit nursing homes were revealed to have greater deficiencies. The findings of this review imply that improvement of quality of care may not be achieved by making for-profit nursing homes have chains. Reconstruction of nursing home markets should be needed, and the number and the proportion of public and non-for-profit nursing homes should be increased.
As North Korea passed from the Devotion (Jeongseong) movement to the black market (Jangmadang) system, the medical service system in that country was effectively destroyed. North Korean physicians who have successfully defected to South Korea (North Korean defector physicians, NKDPs) have experienced socio-economic hardships on their way to becoming incorporated into the South Korean medical system due to different medico- social cultures, different (English-based) medical terminology, and the clinical knowledge gap between North and South Korea. Since 2009, we have operated programs at the Seoul Medical Center to help NKDPs prepare for the South Korean medical licensing examination. These programs consist of clinical education at the medical center, personal mentoring, arrangement of educational programs at the medical college, mock tests at the consortium, and administrative aid. Looking forward, we hope to achieve the following: 1) More systematic support plans are needed involving medical education experts, field physicians, and experts on reunification. 2) An evaluation of defector physicians' current medical knowledge may provide information about the areas where supplementary education is most needed and the standards for certificating licenses. 3) In the short term, a customized glossary should be developed to assist defector physicians prepare for the examination. 4) To secure internships and residencies is the most important issue for further sustained training of NKDP physicians to become good clinicians after certification. Hopefully, this short report on the current ongoing educational course will lead to more extensive discussion.
Purpose: There are many forest and outdoor programs being offered but systematic reviews of effects are lacking. This study was done to identify content, format, and strategies of forest therapy programs for elementary school students. Methods: Literature search using keywords in English and Korean was performed using 6 electronic databases in December 2016. Search participants were elementary school students and interventions conducted in the forest. Seventeen forest therapy studies were selected for evaluation. Risk of Bias Assessment tool for non-randomized study was used for quality assessment. Results: All studies were quasi-experimental designs. Forest therapy programs included various activities in forests such as experience of five senses, meditation in the forest, walking in the forest, ecological play, observation of animals and insects. All studies used psychosocial health variables and forest healing programs had positive effects on sociality, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress, aggression, anger, and school adjustment. Limitations of these studies were vague reporting of the study, lack of ethical review and rigorous research designs. Conclusion: Forest therapy for elementary school child can be an effective way to improve psychosocial health. Future studies with rigorous study designs are needed to assess long-term effects of forest therapy on physical and psychosocial health.
Purpose: Hope has been identified as a protective factor that contributes to achieving a better quality to life, especially in patients with chronic disease. The purpose of this review was to synthesize current knowledge about the relationship between hope and quality of life among adolescents living with chronic illnesses. Methods: We searched major English-language databases (PsycINFO, PubMed, and CINAHL) for studies from January 1, 2002 to July 12, 2019. Studies were included if they provided data on hope and its relationship with quality of life among adolescents with chronic diseases. Results: In total, five articles were selected from the 336 studies that were retrieved. All five studies reported a positive correlation between hope and quality of life, such that people with a higher level of hope had a better quality of life. Hope was found to have direct and indirect effects on quality of life in adolescents with chronic diseases. Conclusion: Healthcare professionals should make more efforts to enhance hope in adolescents with chronic diseases in order to improve their quality of life. Future studies exploring how hope develops in adolescents with chronic diseases and the long-term impact of hope on quality of life are necessary.
There has been current trend running through each generation. All the leading areas in the fashion, art, architect industries etc. are absorbing the needs of the mass users and getting popular and high attentions from the society. One of recent trends are the interior design utilizing the aged style of materials such as bricks, antique and vintage objets. It is applied not only for the cafeteria, movie theater, museum but the cultural space. It reflects the brand-new and Utopian interpretation of design longings for the nostalgia and the old ages. This goes back to the picturesque aesthetics in the 1980s. The term "picturesque" means "picture-like". And it originated from the Utopian vision taken from the landscape paintings of English aristocrat's trip to Europe. it mainly reflects people's longing for the nostalgia and their the happy days in the past. In recent days of bad economies, it has been found in various areas from people's desire for the prosperity in the last days. The objective of this study is to examine the up-current trend of picturesque aesthetics and see its characteristics and how it can be applied to the interior design. And the feasibility study for the necessity of the picturesque aesthetics, any spatioperceptual elements and capable space for human beings to be made for an eclectic space in the desolate modern day life.
