M-러닝을 활용한 공손 영어 표현 학습에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Learning of Polite Expressions Using M-learning)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 모바일 애플리케이션을 활용하여 공손 영어 표현 학습의 가능성을 고찰하고자 하는 것이다. 의사소통 능력의 향상을 도모하기 위해서는 문법적, 담화 능력 외에도 사회 언어적 능력이 필요하다. 상대방이 누구인지, 어떠한 대화 상황에 직면했는지, 대화의 주제나 목적 등에 따라 사회적 가치에 맞는 적합한 표현을 구사할 줄 알아야 한다. 상대방의 지위나 나이가 화자보다 높거나 상대방과의 친밀도가 낮을 경우 한국인 화자는 공손한 표현을 구사하게 된다. 한국어는 언어 자체적으로 경어 체계를 지니고 있지만 영어는 이와 다르기 때문에 학습자들은 영어의 공손 표현을 학습할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 공손 언어 학습에 학습자들이 교실에서 누구나 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 모바일을 접목시키고자 한다. 학습 교재로는 영국의 시대극 "다운튼 애비"(Downton Abbey)를 이용하였는데 이 드라마는 귀족들의 삶을 중심으로 다루었기 때문에 공손 표현을 학습하기에는 매우 적합하다. 모바일 활용을 통한 공손 영어 학습의 효율성과 모바일 애플리케이션의 활용 가능성을 고찰하기 위해 네이버 밴드를 활용한 실험반과 일반적인 팀별 활동을 중심으로 한 통제반을 설정하였다. 두 반의 공손 언어 학습 효과를 확인하기 위해 두 번의 평가가 시행되었고 개방형 설문조사가 실시되었다. 평가 결과 모바일 애플리케이션의 사용은 공손 영어 표현 학습에 긍정적인 효과가 있었으며 모바일이 수업 후 활동으로 사용하기에 효율적인 학습 도구인 것으로 나타났다. 개방형 설문 조사에서 학습자들은 공손 표현을 우아하거나 고급스러운 언어 형식으로 인지하거나 실용적 표현과 구분하는 경향이 있었다. 시대극을 이용하여 공손 언어를 교수할 경우 교수자들은 현대 영어와의 접목을 고려할 필요가 있겠다.

대학입시 수능시험을 평가 도구로 적용한 ChatGPT의 학업 능력 분석 (Analysis of the scholastic capability of ChatGPT utilizing the Korean College Scholastic Ability Test)

  • ChatGPT는 2022년 하반기 상업적 서비스 시작 이후에 미국 변호사 자격시험과 의사 자격시험을 포함한 전문직 시험에서 성공적인 결과를 보였고, 전문직 영역에서 주관식 시험의 통과 능력을 입증하였으나, 교육 분야의 영역에서는 ChatGPT의 논리적 추론과 문제 풀이 등 학업 능력의 평가에 대해서도 새로운 실험과 분석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 한국 대학수학능력 시험 문제의 국어, 영어, 수학 세 주요 교과목을 활용하여 ChatGPT의 학업 능력을 평가하였다. 실험 결과에서는 ChatGPT는 영어 영역에서는 상대적으로 높은 69%의 정답률을 보이지만, 국어와 수학 영역에서는 각각 34%와 19%의 비교적 낮은 정답률을 기록하였다. 문장의 이해와 논리적 추론 능력에 관련된 수능 국어와 한국어 능력 시험 (TOPIK II) 및 수능 영어 시험의 결과 분석을 통하여, ChatGPT의 학업능력과 취약점의 원인을 분석하였다. ChatGPT는 대화형 언어 모델로 개발되었기 때문에 일반적인 국어, 영어, 수학 문제를 이해하고 응답하는 능력은 있지만, 난도가 높은 논리적 추론 능력과 수학 문제 풀이 능력에서는 매우 취약한 것으로 판단되었다. 본 연구는 생성형 인공지능의 성능 평가를 위한 간편하면서도 정확도가 높으며 효과적인 평가 기준을 마련하는 데에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

What can be learned from borrowed words\ulcorner -The case of Japanese language borrowing words ending with a closed syllables-

  • When language A borrows words, it borrows them according to its own phonetic rules. In other words, language B, where borrowed words coming from, has to comply with the phonetic requirements of language A. It may be added that language A only borrows the elements, the types of syllables and accentuation that already exist in its own phonetic struture and rejects all the rest that are not compatible. It operates exactly like a sieve. That is why borrowed words offer an excellent observation post to notice how react in phonetic contexts. The Japanese language has borrowed and is borrowing extensively from other languages and cultures, mainly from the English ones in the fields of sports, medicine, industry, commerce, and natural sciences. Relatively very few new words are created using the ancient Chinese or native backgrounds. This presentation will look for the rules of borrowing and try to show that this way of borrowing represents an organized system of its own. Three levels would be particularly studied : - the phonemic level - the syllable level and - the accentual level. This last point would be specially targeted with the question of syllable tension-relaxation. Such a study of languages in phonetics contacts could shed some new light on the phonetic charaCteristics of Japanese language and will confirm or weaken some conclusion already demonstated otherwise. We will be aming specially at the endings of the borrowed words where, it seems, Japanese language manifests itself very strongly.

아동학회지를 어떻게 국제화시킬 것인가? (How to Promote the Korean Journal of Child Studies to an International Journal)

  • Objective: It aimed at proposing the Korean Journal of Child Studies' strategy to be promoted to international journal based on the style and format of scholarly journals and journal metrics. Methods: The review of the journal in not only print version, but also an online version was done from the perspective of style and format. The total citation and impact factor were manually calculated from Web of Science Core Collection. Results: More professional level manuscript editing is required for maintaining the consistency of the style and format. The verso page and back matters should be improved to international level. Journal homepage should be reconstructed by adopting digital standards for the journal, including journal article tag suite, CrossMark, FundRef, ORCID, and text and data mining. To become an international journal, transformation into English journal and deposition to PubMed Central is mandatory. Conclusion: Since the editor's and society members' performance is top-notch, it will be possible to promote the journal up to international level soon. Society should guarantee the term of editor for enough time and support her with full cost and complete consent.

한국어 립리딩: 데이터 구축 및 문장수준 립리딩 (Korean Lip-Reading: Data Construction and Sentence-Level Lip-Reading)

  • Lip-reading is the task of inferring the speaker's utterance from silent video based on learning of lip movements. It is very challenging due to the inherent ambiguities present in the lip movement such as different characters that produce the same lip appearances. Recent advances in deep learning models such as Transformer and Temporal Convolutional Network have led to improve the performance of lip-reading. However, most previous works deal with English lip-reading which has limitations in directly applying to Korean lip-reading, and moreover, there is no a large scale Korean lip-reading dataset. In this paper, we introduce the first large-scale Korean lip-reading dataset with more than 120 k utterances collected from TV broadcasts containing news, documentary and drama. We also present a preprocessing method which uniformly extracts a facial region of interest and propose a transformer-based model based on grapheme unit for sentence-level Korean lip-reading. We demonstrate that our dataset and model are appropriate for Korean lip-reading through statistics of the dataset and experimental results.

Leadership Development in Students as Part of Attitude Development

  • Leadership development corresponds to the focus on the individual's success and competitiveness strategy. This is the optimal direction of the organization of attitude development because it covers two aspects of the student's personality development, professionally-oriented and self-centric. The aim of the study is to identify and compare the leadership level in second-and fourth-year students to see dynamics of development and implementation of the leadership phenomenon in the professional and personal making up of future specialists. Based on the theoretical analysis of the issue, the authors developed an objective and subjective diagnostic model for leadership skills. In this study, data of the objective diagnostic technique are the key. Subjective diagnostic technique for leadership skills provides insights for problem interpretation. At the level of the first group of respondents, the average Leadership Skills Level of the second-year students was quite low and was found within the medium level. The second group of respondents consisting of the fourth-year students showed a slight but effective improvement. The Leadership Skills of this group were found at a sufficient level. Positive dynamics was revealed for all criteria of leadership skills as a result of applying objective diagnostic methods: decreased percentage of students with negative and relatively low markers of Leadership Skills Level and corresponding increase in percentage of applicants with positive markers of Leadership Skills Level. Further research can be organized in the direction of identifying and developing successful universal and professionally-oriented tactics for leadership development in students as part of attitude development.

소구형태변화를 통한 광고의 표준화 수준에 관한 연구 (A study on the standardization of advertising through the appeal means change)

  • This study does present things to suggest to foreign multinational corporation or domestic corporation through the empirical study on the standardization level. If we summary this study, it is as follows. In chapter I, we did institute the problems and explain the objects and methods and system of the study. In chapter II, we did explain the universality of the culture and international advertisement. Next, we did explain the background of doing specialization strategy and standardization strategy. Also we did study the previous study about the arguements for and against these. Lsat we did institute the hypothesises as follows. - Hypothesis 1 $H_0$ : The use of westerner appeal means has been increased than 11 years before and is able to increase continuously. - Hypothesis 2 $H_0$ : The use of westerner model and knowned has been increased than 11 years before and is able to increase continuously. - Hypothesis 3 $H_0$ : The use of the English language has been increased than 11 years before and is able to increase continuously. - Hypothesis 4 $H_0$ : The use of the west short piece and background has been increased than 11 years before and is able to increase continuously. In chapter III, we did refer to the method of this study. First, we did adjust the measure of standardization index, and we did work coding it, such after the two coder did check the freguency of the appeal meanstype about the advertisement of four daily report. Then we did select eight production as high involvement production and seven production as low involvement. We did test the coder's trust degree on the such sample to be selected through the 't-test' of the SAS statistic program and regression analysis through the spss/$pc^+$ statistic program to approve the this study's hypothesises. In chapter IV, we did analysis the results of the empirical study on the high or low involvement productions. First, the results of t-test to approve the coder's trust degree is that it is same statistically attentionly the distribution of the sample between coder at 10% attention level. Next, the results of the regression analysis on eight hypothesises are as fellows. In case of high involvement production we are able to speak that the use of the English language appeal among the eight appeals is only standardized. And incase of low involvement production, we are able to speak that the use of the hard-sell appeal among the eight appeds is only standardized. Therefore we did conclude that the standardization level of Korea newspaper advertisement is low. Also this suggests that it will do plan and do the specialzation strategy or localization strategy foreign multinational corporation or domestic corporation in Korea newspaper advertisement. In chapter V, we do present the boundary of this study and new study methods.

SCC 활동 전략기반 Kodu SW교육과정 모델 적용을 통한 어린이 코딩 인지 효과 (The Effects of Childrens' Perception of the Kodu Software Curriculum Model based on SCC Activity Strategy)

  • 2015 개정 교육과정에 따라 초등학생들을 위한 다양한 SW 교육 방안들이 현장에서 연구 개발 적용되고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 SW교육이 언플러그드와 영어 Text에 기반하고 있어 영어와 수학 활동에 익숙하지 않은 초등학교 어린이들뿐만 아니라 가르치는 교사에게도 어렵게 느껴지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 게임과 아이콘을 통해 쉽게 코딩을 가르치고 배울 수 있는 Kodu game lab 기반 '아이콘 카드 보드'를 개발하였다. 스토리활동, 코딩활동, 협력활동(SCC) 전략기반의 17차시 SW교육과정으로 구성하여 적용 검증한 결과 학생들의 코딩에 대한 흥미도 및 수업모형에서 유의미한 결과를 보였으며 전체적인 SW수업에 대해서도 86%가 만족하는 것으로 응답하였다.

영국과 우리나라의 수학과 교육과정 비교 분석 연구 - 도형과 측정 영역을 중심으로 - (A study on the comparison and analysis of school mathematics curriculum in England and Korea, focused on the 'shape, space, and measures' domain)

  • This study investigated school mathematics curriculum of England, newly revised in 1998, focused on the 'shape, space, and measures' domain among three major domains of the English curriculum. On the basis of its understanding, this domain was compared and analyzed with school mathematics curriculum of Korea. In doing so, this study explored its plans and procedures and established a frame of comparison for the curriculums between the two countries. The structure of the National Curriculum in England is composed of programmes of study and attainment targets. The former sets out what should be taught in mathematics at key stages 1, 2, 3, and 4 and provides the basis for planning schemes of work, and the latter sets out the knowledge, skills, and understanding that pupils of different abilities and matures are expected to have by the end of each key stage. Attainment targets are composed of eight levels and an additional level of increasing difficulty. According to the results of the present study, Korea focuses on the formal and systematic mathematical knowledge on the basis of sound understanding of certain mathematical terms or concepts. On the other hand, England curriculum tends to deal with the content which can be understood more intuitively, flexibly, and naturally through the experience and aquisition based on the concrete manipulation. Particularly, it emphasizes that mathematics be realistic and useful in solving a diverse problems confronted in everyday life.

대학생들의 언어학습전략, 언어학습믿음과 영어듣기성취 이해 (Understanding Language Learning Strategies, Language Learning Beliefs, and English Listening Achievement of Korean Undergraduate Students)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 블렌디드 러닝으로 듣기 수업에 참여하는 대학생들을 대상으로 영어 듣기능력이 향상한 학생과 향상하지 않은 학생들 사이에 언어학습전략 사용과 언어학습믿음에 차이가 있었는지를 알아보고 듣기성취와 언어학습전략, 언어학습믿음 사이에 관계가 있는지 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위해 69명의 참여자들은 언어학습전략과 언어학습믿음 설문에 응답하고, 사전 사후 듣기 시험을 보았다. 요인분석으로 추출된 요인을 이용하여 성적이 오른 집단과 오르지 않은 집단의 차이를 분석한 결과, 두 집단 사이에 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 영어 듣기능력이 향상된 학생은 언어학습전략을 더 많이 사용하고 있었고, 언어학습믿음에서 더 높은 동기를 갖고 있었다. 동기에 대한 믿음이 높은 학생들은 인지전략과 초인지전략을 더 많이 사용했다. 이 연구는 학습자의 학습믿음과 학습전략 중 영어 듣기능력 향상에 영향을 주는 요인을 제공하여 콘텐츠 개발과 교수법에 기여할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
