온라인 소프트웨어 교양 교육의 만족도와 효과성에 관한 연구 (Satisfaction and Effectiveness of Online Software Liberal Arts Education)

  • 소프트웨어를 활용하는 능력은 현대 사회의 필수 역량이라 할 수 있다. 이로 인해 초등학교부터 대학교까지 프로그래밍 교육이 진행되고 있다. 대학의 교양 교과에서 진행되는 비전공자를 위한 프로그래밍 교육의 경우 양질의 콘텐츠를 이용하여 온라인으로 진행한다면, 전문성을 갖춘 교수자의 부족문제 및 실습시간 제약 등의 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 그리고 또한 수강생에게는 충분한 시간동안 생각하고 문제를 해결할 수 있는 시간적인 여유를 제공할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 온라인으로 진행된 소프트웨어 교양 교과의 강의 전과 후 설문조사를 통하여 온라인 강의의 가능성을 살펴보았다. 설문결과로부터 온라인으로 소프트웨어 강의를 진행하더라도 컴퓨터적 사고력 및 문제해결 능력의 향상이라는 소프트웨어 교육의 목표를 충분히 얻을 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

CIPP 평가 모형을 적용한 대기업 사원 공학입문 교육 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Satisfaction of New Employee Engineering Introduction Training Program Applying CIPP Evaluation Model Focusing on D Corporation)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to the satisfaction of the introductory engineering education program for the employees, who majored liberal arts or commerce, among the educational programs for industrial workers which are performed as an effort to spread the performance of the Innovation Center for Engineering Education, and reinforce the competitiveness through effective program operation. This study was performed on the basis of CIPP evaluation model (context, input, process, product). A factorial analysis and a regression analysis were conducted based on a survey made on 87 persons who completed the introductory engineering education program among the employees of D group who majored liberal arts or commerce. It is expected that this study will contribute toward suggesting the implications for designing and operating the educational programs for industrial workers in order to find out the important factors of satisfaction and to conduct the education operation with professionalism.

공학소양과 인문교육의 통섭 (Consilience of Engineering Refinements and Liberal Arts Education)

  • In this paper, we argue that for general education in engineering, humanistic education is important, thus we propose an illustration of course outline. Recent general education for engineering is focused on only more practical, socially oriented courses, for example, business, law, economics, and entrepreneurship. While these courses are helpful for engineering students, humanistic education is more fundamental for improving the students' capacity for insight, originality and constructing the holistic view. We propose a course "Philosophy of Time and Space" as an example which fit this purpose.

컴퓨터 전공 신입생의 성공적 적응 요인 분석 (Analysis of Successful Adaptation Factors of Computer Science Freshmen Students)

  • As other major, students have difficulties to be successfully adapted to computer science major without some interest and skill to computer programming. In this paper, we try to find successful factors for computer science major freshmen students to computer programming. The factors we focused are programming experience before college entrance, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, application motivations to computer major, existence of mentors, satisfaction to his/her computer department, student's holland job aptitude code. After analysis, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, satisfaction to computer department, some holland job aptitude code are significant to their successful adaptation to computer major. Also, we found the holland job apptitude code is closely related to student's satisfaction to their major for engineering students including computer science students. Our analysis results will be a suggestion for designing computer science education program with students who enters college without some aptitude or preparation to his major.

공과대학생의 핵심역량 분석과 비교과 활동의 활용 (Analysis of Core Competencies in Engineering Students and Utilization of Extracurricular Activities)

  • This research aims to analyze core competencies of engineering students in Korea as well as to explore the application plans of extracurricular activities(hereafter, ECA) and programs in order to enhance their core competencies. Participation in ECA has long been recognized as having positive benefits and impacts upon students. To achieve the purpose of this study, first, we investigated whether there were differences between core competencies in undergraduates according to majors, gender and grades. 'Core competencies', first introduced in management theory as 'core competency' can be defined as personal attributes or underlining characteristics, capable of delivering a role or job. 'Core competencies' has received particular attention in recent years and there has been much related research (domestic and foreign) combined with diverse factors. However, few studies have addressed the question on engineering student's core competencies as well as the ways of their enhancement. This study was conducted with a total of 286 students, and core competencies have been measured online, through K-CESA. Our findings show that firstly, there were significant differences in undergraduate students' core competencies by majors. Engineering students scored significantly lower in core competencies overall. Second, there was no significant difference in students' core competencies by gender and grade. Third, there was a significant correlation among components of core competencies. Finally, there was a significant correlation between core competencies and grades(GPA, grades in major subject & liberal arts subject), rather levels in the correlation were low. Furthermore, the study suggested that the appropriate application of extracurricular activities would enhance core competencies of students.

예비 교사 대상 인공지능 융합 교양교과목을 위한 노벨 엔지니어링의 교육적 효과 (The Educational Effect of Novel Engineering on Artificial Intelligence Convergence Liberal Arts Course for Pre-service Teachers)

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 전공의 초 중등 예비 교사를 대상으로 하는 인공지능 융합 교양교과목 운영을 위한 방법론으로 노벨 엔지니어링의 가능성을 제안하고 교육적 효과성을 창의융합역량을 중심으로 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 선행연구를 분석하여 '비전공자인 학습자의 특성 고려', '전공과의 융합 유도'라는 내용 구성의 방향을 도출하고, 이에 적합한 교육 방법으로 노벨 엔지니어링과의 연계성을 제시하였다. 45차시 분량의 노벨 엔지니어링 활용 인공지능 융합교육 교양교과목의 내용을 구성하고 예비 교사들에게 미치는 교육적 효과를 확인한 결과, 창의융합역량에 대한 통계적으로 유의미한 향상과 함께 높은 만족도도 확인되었다. 본 연구는 인공지능 융합교육을 위한 예비 교사 교육방법으로 노벨 엔지니어링의 가능성을 확인하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 후속 연구로는 노벨 엔지니어링 기반 인공지능 융합교육에 대한 지속적 연구, 예비 교사 대상의 인공지능 교양교과목 개발 및 효과성 측정이 제안되었다.

An Analysis of University Academic Achievements of Students Based on Gender - Focusing on the Department of Computer Engineering -

  • The purposes of this study were to measure university academic achievement based on gender. We analyzed university academic achievement based on gender. The subjects for this analysis were 322 students from freshmen to seniors who received grades in their first semester in the computer engineering department at a university located in the Chungcheong area. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, the average university academic achievement was 3.01. Second, the university academic achievement of female students was higher than that of male students in the entire curriculum, liberal arts, and major subjects. Students showed higher academic achievement when their grades rose. Male students showed higher rate of rise when their grades rose compared to female students. This paper proposes that it is necessary to develop programs to further adaption to university life for males. Since male students showed significantly lower university academic achievement, various programs like counseling and mentoring are needed.

  • 최근 대학에서도 SW 교육이 강조됨에 따라, 교양 수준의 컴퓨팅 사고력(CT)수업에 대한 관심이 높아졌다. 이에 효과적인 교양 교육을 위해 학생들의 CT 교육에 대한 부담감을 줄이고 학습동기를 높이기 위한 다양한 교수학습방법이 요구되고 있다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 필수 교양으로써의 CT 교과목에서 학습자들의 학습동기와 학습 성취도를 향상시키기 위한 ARCS 모형을 적용한 교수학습을 설계하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 대학의 교양 교육에서의 교육의 특성에 대한 선행연구와 CT 내용 요소 분석을 바탕으로 CT의 학습 요소를 선정하였다. 또한, Keller의 ARCS 학습동기 모형의 주의집중(Attention), 관련성(Relevance), 자신감(Confidence), 만족감(Satisfaction)의 각 동기요소들에 따른 수업 전술을 본 과정에 맞도록 선별하였다. 결국, 본 연구에서는 이러한 CT 내용들을 효과적으로 가르치기 위해 ARCS 모형 기반의 세부 전략을 주차별로 설계하여 제시하였다.
