  • Collaborative filtering is a method to predict preference items of a user based on the evaluations of items provided by others with similar preferences. Collaborative filtering helps general people make smart decisions in today's information society where information can be easily accumulated and analyzed. We designed, implemented, and evaluated a course recommendation system experimentally. This system can help university students choose courses they prefer to. Firstly, the system needs to collect the course preferences from students and store in a database. Users showing similar preference patterns are considered into similar groups. We use Pearson correlation as a similarity measure. We select K-nearest students to predict the unknown preferences of the student and provide a ranked list of courses based on the course preferences of K-nearest students. We evaluated the accuracy of the recommendation by computing the mean absolute errors of predictions using a survey on the course preferences of students.

  • Due to COVID-19, all activities in society are emphasized non-face-to-face, and the educational environment is changing without exception. Looking at the results of the survey after conducting non-face-to-face education, there was a lot of rejection of non-face-to-face practical education. The biggest reason was that instructors were not familiar with the non-face-to-face education method, and feedback was not smooth during or after education. In particular, software practice education was not easy to share the software development environment, but communication and feedback on class contents and tasks were important. In particular, if face-to-face and non-face-to-face are alternately variable, it is not easy for practical education to be consistently connected. Even if non-face-to-face hands-on education is changed to face-to-face hands-on education, we will present a plan to use a data sharing system such as question-and-answer, assignment, practice content, and board content so that it can proceed smoothly. This study presents an efficient software education process that can provide learners with a software integrated practice environment based on a shared server, question-and-answer between instructors and learners, and share feedback on tasks. For the verification of the presented process, the effectiveness was confirmed through the survey results by applying the face-to-face/non-face-to-face education process to 220 trainees for 30 months in software education classes such as A university hands-on education, B company new employees, and ICT education courses.

In addition, we conducted leadership competence diagnosis, leadership education demand survey and satisfaction level survey on the leadership camp participants. Interviews with experts, lecturers and focus group of Dale Carnegie Research Institute Daegu branch that administered the progress of leadership camp were conducted along with analysis of education contents through non-participation observation method during camp period and participant students interviews. The conclusions are summed up as follows: To educate global leaders in true meaning, first, psychological level competence strengthening method and study completing ability improvement method should be considered simultaneously. In particular, for non-capital region universities, emphasis should be given to education for self-confidence and vision establishment. Second, leadership education methods of mid/long term and systematic curricular and extra-curricular type should be pursued. For instance, with the use of engineering design subject completing system, leadership education can be consolidated to engineering subject courses with engineering design projects or the system of mentor-pupil among earlier leadership camp participants and later participants may be utilized. Third, it is determined necessary to pursue and realize practical methods of conducting various intramural leadership related education activities in mid/long term perspective by organizing leadership education advisory group consisting of major, departments and intramural and extramural relevant organization authorities that focus on leadership education.

  • TSP(Traveling Salesman Problem) is a problem finding out the shortest distance out of many courses where given cities of the number of N, one starts a certain city and turns back to a starting city, visiting every city only once. As the number of cities having visited increases, the calculation rate increases geometrically. This problem makes TSP classified in NP-Hard Problem and genetic algorithm is used representatively. To obtain a better result in TSP, various operators have been developed and studied. This paper suggests new method of population initialization and of sequential transformation, and then proves the improvement of capability by comparing them with existing methods.
