  • As basic data about students' career education in high school are being managed only in forms of NEIS, which is supported by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and the information for career education that homeroom teachers have operated by off-line system, it is hard to use them as practical decision support system for students' career education. In this study, we intend to design and embody web-based Student Management Total System by constructing DB of students' e-portfolios, school records and counselling data etc. As a result, teachers can carry out vocational education that is considered students' talents and aptitude, and we have a goal for promoting the growth of the students as the national human resources who have sound occupational consciousness through this education.

  • In this paper, the traditional curriculum model for engineering education, called simple hierarchical model, is critically reviewed and the problems of this curriculum model are discussed. Then a new curriculum model for engineering education is proposed to overcome the problems of simple hierarchical model and to provide an innovative education for engineering students. This new curriculum model for engineering education, called $\Pi$-structure, consists of the General Attainments Program, the Fundamental Major Program, and the Advanced Major Program, with the three components stacked in $\Pi$ shape where the first two programs are put in parallel and the third program are put on their top. The necessity, feasibility and various benefits of the $\Pi$-structured education system are widely discussed in the paper.

  • With a population of around 237,424,363 in 33 provinces, Indonesia is one developing countries that needs an excellent School Management Information System (SMIS) to accomplish its educational mission. To reach the goal, it is necessary to know the rules, culture of school and related data prior to building the SMIS. This study is focused on the Indonesian National Education Standards. It is has nine standards that are described by the Regulation of Education Ministry. To manage the schools' organization, this paper aims to develop a SMIS based on the Indonesian National Education Standards by using ARIS(Architecture of Integrated Information System) to help schools run efficiently. The new system will be built using UML(Unified Modeling Language), this new system conforms to the education rules of the government. Finally, the conclusion and future research are described.

A Study on the Transition of Architectural Engineering Education in the USA, 1890-1950 -With the Professionalization of Architectural Discipline- (미국(美國) 건축공학(建築工學) 교육(敎育)의 전개(展開), 1890-1950 -건축(建築) 관련분야(關聯分野)의 전문화과정(專門化過程)과 연결하여-)

  • An analysis of the courses from American architectural institutions during the period of $1890^{\sim}1950$ reveals an emergence of a distinction between a purely architectural and an architectural engineering discipline. A reflection of the economic growth, industrialization and urbanization of a nation; the education of the American architect during that period assumed a professional character. In contrast to European technical institutions which concentrate on the engineering aspects of architecture, American institutions developed a more comprehensive, design oriented curriculum within the framework of the American university system. The establishment of a system of formal education for architects and architectural engineers, replacing the tradition of apprenticeship, made it possible to train future professionals according to their ideals. But the objectives, contents and products of these curricula took on divergent characteristics from institution to institution. The growth of legal regulations( ie. ACSA, NAAB, NCARB, ASEE, etc.) governing the registration of architects and engineers, emphasized the legitimate concern within the profession to determine an acceptable standard of professional education. Such regulatory standards influenced the transition of architectural engineering education in institutions including the case of MIT. As a result, the ambivalence in architectural engineering programs found specific resolution in programs, such as architectural engineering, building engineering, construction or civil engineering.

  • This paper suggests the necessity of design education to engineering majors through qualitative research on the characteristics of intelligent artifacts. Robot cleaner is one of intelligent artificial objects that can approach people's life without awkwardness. How do people think of robot cleaners and define their personality, these days? In this experiment, subjects use and observe four different robot cleaners that have different appearances, behaviors and sounds in an experimental setup where is similar to actual use environment. We measure subjects' preferences and assessments for four different robot cleaners' personality. The test subjects were 11 designers who frequently collaborated with engineers and were able to express and express opinions about products. Experimental results showed that robot cleaners with the highest scores in appearance, behavior, and sound had the highest preference. In contrast, robot cleaners with low scores in three factors showed different results in the preference ranking.

  • We have studied the methods to connect homes with a digital network and apply home automation to education. We presented the possibility of integrated education where public education at school can be extended to home. The hardwares related with home automation are continuously in development. We have demonstrated the materials appropriate for the levels of individual students with home network information, and studied methods of education.

  • As the tower crane accident emerged as a social issue in 2017, various government measures were prepared. Most of the measures are focused on erecting, climbing, and dismantling phases. Analyzes of 84 serious accidents related to tower cranes from 2000 to 2018 and 104 near misses accidents from 2016 to 2018 revealed that 50% of the serious accidents occurred during the operating phase. The main occupation influencing operating phase accidents was signalman(81.6% of serious accidents), whose communication and competency were governing causes. This result was the same in 294 questionnaires to signalmen. Signal systems and education policies for tower crane signalman in Korea and foreign countries were analyzed, and standardization of wireless signal system and improvement of education system were propose.

  • In this paper, we proposed the development of a smart factory intergrated technology education platform using smart factory based CPPS (Cyber Physical Production System) and VR (Vitrual Reality) technology and educational methods using the platform. A platform has been developed to learn how to integrate 3D digital twin and BOP (Bill of Process)-based manufacturing processes. In addition, Digital Twin established a smart factory-based integrated education platform by linking mechanical systems, digital twins, and virtual reality through the OPC-UA server. Based on this platform, the smart factory integration platform is proposed to have individual elements of the smart factory integration platform through BOP-based digital twin simulation, OPC-UA integration, MES system, SCADA system, and VR interworking.

  • A grounding system in a large-scale apartment complex consists of a TT grounding system when viewed in each building unit, but the characteristics of TN grounding system appears when viewed in the total ground system function. Therefore, this study examined the characteristics of a grounding system in a large-scale apartment complex using design draft, field measurements and PSCAD/EMTDC modeling. This paper proposes an algorithm for fault analysis depending on the grounding system structure in large-scale apartment complexes considering the connection of the underground culvert as well as a design algorithm for each grounding system considering the contact voltage and step voltage. The simulation results based on the proposed modeling and algorithm confirmed that it is useful for analyzing the characteristics of a grounding system in a large-scale apartment complex.
