근접 방사선치료용 이리듐 선원의 선량분포에 대한 몬데칼로 시뮬레이션 (Monte Carlo Simulation for Dose Distributions from Ir-192 in Brachytherapy)

  • 본 연구에서는 근접 방사선치료용 Ir-192 선윈의 흡수선량에 관한 물리적 특성들을 몬테칼로 계산을 이용하여 조사하였다. 몬테칼로 계산은 EGS4 코드로 수행하였으며 이를 위하여 원통형 선원과 팬텀 그리고 에너지 분포의 입력과 처리가 가능한 사용자 코드를 작성하였다. 베타선에 대한 계산 결과, 베타선들은 선원과 0.5-5.0 cm 거리에서 전체 흡수선량에 평균 0.02% 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 초기 베타선들이 선원과 밀봉물질에서 대부분 흡수를 당하지만 이 과정에서 발생한 저에너지 제동복사 광자들이 원거리까지 기여하기 때문이다. 밀봉물질에 의한 흡수선량의 변화는 백금으로 취한 경우에 평균 2.8% 그리고 철로 취한 경우에 평균 1.1% 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 몬테칼로 계산으로 구한 반경선량함수는 선원과 0.5-10.0 cm 반경거리 구간에 대하여 TG-43 보고서의 값들과 $\pm$3% 이내로 일치하였다. 본 연구에서 작성한 사용자 코드는 다른 종류 및 다른 크기의 선원에 대해서도 계산을 수행할 수 있어서 근접 방사선치료용 선원의 생산 및 가공에 관한 연구에 다양하게 이용될 수 있다.

Hydrogen Storage Characteristics of Melt Spun Mg-23.5Ni-xCu Alloys and Mg-23.5Ni-2.5Cu Alloy Mixed with $Nb_{2}O_{5}$ and $NbF_{5}$

  • Mg-23.5 wt%Ni-xwt%Cu (x = 2.5, 5 and 7.5) samples for hydrogen storage were prepared by melt spinning and crystallization heat treatment from a Mg-23.5 wt%Ni-5 wt%Cu alloy synthesized by the gravity casting method. They were then ground under $H_2$ to obtain a fine powder. Among these samples the Mg-23.5Ni-2.5Cu sample had the highest hydriding and dehydriding rates after activation. The Mg-23.5Ni-2.5Cu sample absorbed 3.59 and 4.01 wt%H for 10 and 60 min, respectively, at 573K under 12 bar $H_{2}$. The activated 88(87.5Mg-10Ni-2.5Cu)-$5Nb_{2}O_{5}-7NbF_{5}$ sample absorbed 2.93 wt%H for 10 min, and 3.14 wt%H for 60 min at 573K under 12 bar $H_{2}$.

Pd 박막의 두께 변화에 의한 수소화 특성 변화 (Thickness Dependence of Hydrogenation Characteristics on Pd Films)

  • Thermally evaporated Pd films on substrate were hydrogenated upto 1 bar of hydrogen gas at room temperature. Thickness dependence on hydrogenation on Pd film is examined in the thickness range between $60{\AA}$ and $800{\AA}$. Hydrogenation kinetics of thinner films(thinner than $500{\AA}$) and that of thicker films are different. Thin film(thickness < $200{\AA}$, substrate temp. = RT) showed recrystallization due to hydrogen induced heat. Hydrogen was absorbed by chemisorption process in ${\alpha}$ phase of thinner films, and diffusion process in ${\alpha}'$ phase of thicker films respectively.

인삼 엽록체의 미세구조와 Photobleaching (Ultrastructural Feature and Photobleaching of ginseng Chloroplasts)

  • Ultrastructural and anatomical features of the leaf were studied in Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer(ginseng). The ginseng leaf poorly developed palisade tissue and the size of mesophyll cell was larger and the chloroplast density was lower than that of Glycine max (soyben). Ginseng chloroplast was filled with highly stacked grana and condensely-arrayed thylakoid, so the stroma space was hardly absorbed. However, ginseng mesophyll tissue and chloroplast array did not reduce light energy entering the mesophyll chloroplast, and the high LHCP/CP ratio of ginseng thylakoid resulted in the absorption of excess photon. It is reasonable to assume that 1O1-photogenearation by excess light energy partially resulted from the anatomical and ultrastructural characteristics of the ginseng leaf.

  • During crash of a vehicle a major part of the kinetic energy of the driver is absorbed by a steering system. The deformation characteristics of the steering system has significant effects on the injury of the driver. A part of the energy is absobed by the steering wheel and another part by the collapsable steering column. It is believed that the structure of the steering wheel has an important effect on the injury of the driver. A design criterion is suggested for steering wheels for maximum protection of drivers. Taguchi method is used to obtain the effects design parameters.

적층각 및 형상 변화에 따른 CFRP 구조부재의 동적 특성 (Dynamic Characteristics of CFRP Structure Member According to Change the Stacking Angle and Shape)

  • Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) has many desirable qualities, including being lightweight and very strong. These characteristics have led to its use in applications ranging from small consumer products to vehicles. Circular and square CFRP members were fabricated using 8ply unidirectional prepreg sheets stacked at different angles ($[+15^{\circ}/-15^{\circ}]_4$, $[+45^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}]_4$ and $[90]_8$, where $0^{\circ}$ coincides with the axis of the member). Based on the collapse characteristics of a CFRP circular member, the collapse characteristics and energy absorption capability were analyzed. Impact collapse tests were carried out for each section member. In this study, the impact energies at crossheads speeds of 5.52 m/s, 5.14 m/s and 4.57 m/s were 611.52 J, 529.2 J and 419.44 J (circular member) 2.16 m/s, 1.85 m/s and 1.67 m/s are 372.4 J, 274.4 J and 223.44 J (square member). The purpose is to experimentally examine the absorption behavior and evaluation the strength in relation to changes in the stacking configuration when the CFRP circular members with different stacking configurations were exposed to various impact velocities. In addition, the dynamic characteristics were considered.

Dynamic failure features and brittleness evaluation of coal under different confining pressure

  • To obtain the dynamic mechanical properties, fracture modes, energy and brittleness characteristics of Furong Baijiao coal rock, the dynamic impact compression tests under 0, 4, 8 and 12 MPa confining pressure were carried out using the split Hopkinson pressure bar. The results show that failure mode of coal rock in uniaxial state is axial splitting failure, while it is mainly compression-shear failure with tensile failure in triaxial state. With strain rate and confining pressure increasing, compressive strength and peak strain increase, average fragmentation increases and fractal dimension decreases. Based on energy dissipation theory, the dissipated energy density of coal rock increases gradually with growing confining pressure, but it has little correlation with strain rate. Considering progressive destruction process of coal rock, damage variable was defined as the ratio of dissipated energy density to total absorbed energy density. The maximum damage rate was obtained by deriving damage variable to reflect its maximum failure severity, then a brittleness index BD was established based on the maximum damage rate. BD value declined gradually as confining pressure and strain rate increase, indicating the decrease of brittleness and destruction degree. When confining pressure rises to 12 MPa, brittleness index and average fragmentation gradually stabilize, which shows confining pressure growing cannot cause continuous damage. Finally, integrating dynamic deformation and destruction process of coal rock and according to its final failure characteristics under different confining pressures, BD value is used to classify the brittleness into four grades.

축압축을 받는 CFRP 적층부재의 에너지흡수특성과 파괴모드에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Energy Absorption Characteristics and Fracture Mode of CFRP Laminate Members under Axial Compression)

  • The object of this paper is to investigate collapse characteristics of CF/Epoxy(Carbon Fiber/Epoxy resin) composite tubes on the change of interlaminar number and fiber orientation angle of outer and to evaluate reappearance of collapse characteristics on the change of tension strength of fibers under static and impact axial compression loads. When a CF/Epoxy composite tube is mushed, static/impact energy is consumed by friction between the loading plate and the splayed fiends of the tube, by fracture of the fibers, matrix and their interface. In general, CF/Epoxy tube with 6 interlaminar number(C-type) absorbed more energy than other tubes(A, B, D-types). The maximum collapse load seemed to increase as the interlaminar number of such tubes increases. The collapse mode depended upon orientation angle of outer of CF/Epoxy tubes and loading status(static/impact). Typical collapse modes of CF/Epoxy tubes are wedge collapse mode, splaying collapse mode and fragmentation collapse mode. The wedge collapse mode was shorn in case of CF/Epoxy tubes with 0$^{\circ}$ orientation angle of outer under static and impact loadings. The splaying collapse mode was shown in only case of CF/Epoxy tubes with 90$^{\circ}$ orientation angie or outer under static loadings, however in impact tests those were collapsed in fragmentation mode. So that CF/Epoxy tube with 6 interlaminar number and 90$^{\circ}$ outer orientation angle presented to the optimal collapse characteristics.

  • The earthquake-resistant structural systems have to ensure the sufficient stiffness and ductility for the stability. For those purposes, recently, the performance design concept to increase the degree of absorbed energy level of structures has been proposed. One practical way of the performance design in the spatial structures is to apply the isolation system to boundary parts of roof system and sub-structure to obtain the target performance. So, it is necessary to examine the characteristics of dynamic behavior of spatial structures governed by higher modes rather than lower modes different from the cases of high rise buildings. The objectives of this paper are to develop the equivalent lumped mass model to simplify the analytical processes and to investigate the dynamic behavior of roof system according to the mass and the stiffness of sub-structures as a fundamental study of performance design for the spatial structures.

태양전지용 CdTe박막의 열처리에 따른 특성 (The effect of annealing on the Characteristics of CdTe thin film)

  • In this paper, structual, optical properties of CdTe thin films and photovoltaic properties of thin film CdS/CdTe solar cell prepared by thermal vacuum evaporation were studied. The crystal structure of CdTe films was zircblend type with preferential orientation of the (111)plane parallel to the substrate. The heat treatment appears to stabilize this structure. The result of optical absorption and transmittance show that solar radiation with energy larger than bandgap is almost completely absorbed within an about $2{\mu}m$ thickness of the evaporated CdTe layer and transmittance of the CdTe film was larger with increasing annealing temperature. It was found that CdS/CdTe solar cell characteristics were improved by the heat treatment.
