  • Case study was performed to analyze energy load for department stores and develop energy load model to be applied to a cogeneration system. Energy loads of 14 departments were analyzed based on energy load sheets written by operators and energy load of one department store was measured through modem communication for a year. Energy load of department stores showed various trends depending on when they were opened or closed, or by hour, day and month. In this paper, the measurement was compared with the data in energy load sheets and resolved, and energy load model for a department store was built. It is important to use an accurate energy load model for an accurate feasibility study applying a cogeneration system to buildings.

  • Clustering wireless sensor network is an efficient way to reduce the energy consumption of individual nodes in a cluster. In clustering, multihop routing techniques increase the load of the Cluster head near the sink. This unbalanced load on the Cluster head increases its energy consumption, thereby Cluster heads die faster and create an energy hole problem. In this paper, we propose an Energy Balancing Cluster Head (EBCH) in wireless sensor network. At First, we balance the intra cluster load among the cluster heads, which results in nonuniform distribution of nodes over an unequal cluster size. The load received by the Cluster head in the cluster distributes their traffic towards direct and multihop transmission based on the load distribution ratio. Also, we balance the energy consumption among the cluster heads to design an optimum load distribution ratio. Simulation result shows that this approach guarantees to increase the network lifetime, thereby balancing cluster head energy.

  • Many project (such ESCO or BRP) are being implemented for existing building energy saving. Most of medium or large building that use many energy being implemented this project. In the case of large or medium building must implement obligatorily Energy auditing. Therefore, They can be recognize their building energy consumption situation. But, In the case of small building don't need obligatorily energy auditing. Therefore, They can't be recognize their building energy consumption situation. As a result, Small buildings are difficult to participate in energy efficiency retrofit. In this research, Building owners of buildings energy load recognition and energy efficiency retrofit possible participation was analysis though survey. Survey results, Most building owners don't know building energy load. But they have a good mind to retrofit building energy efficiency. As a result, If they have energy load information, they will be participate energy efficiency retrofit.

  • We proposed a load unbalancing scheduling method for energy-efficient multi-core embedded systems considering DVFS (Dynamic Voltage/Frequency Scaling) power consumption and task characteristics. It is a new kind of scheduler which combines load balancing and load unbalancing technique. The purpose of the method is to effectively utilize energy without much effect in performance. In this paper, we conduct experiments on energy consumption and performance using the previous load balancing and unbalancing techniques and our proposed technique. The proposed technique reduced energy consumption more than 13.7% when compared to other algorithms. As a result, the proposed technique shows low energy consumption without much decline in the performance and is adequate for energy-efficient multi-core embedded systems.

  • This paper describes the energy absorption of a square tube under axi compression by using the finite element method. The overall deformations and lo buckling modes of tube was discussed by "plastic hinge concep Force-displacement function was plotted to show various state that depended or time. Also, mean crush load was expressed as a type of section geometry a material property using dimensional analysis. To verify the energy absorption and the effects of dimensions, The standards Wt used as related density and specific energy, mean crushing load and the resL were discussed by the relation between crush load and deformation, the relati between related density and specific energy, the relation between crush load a mean crush load, the relation between mean crush load and specific energy.ergy.

  • About 25% of overall energy use of Korea had been spent in buildings. It is crucial to acknowledge the importance of saving energy in buildings. In order to save energy, it is important to predict accurate energy use. There are numerous energy simulation program that predicts both energy load and energy use. The problem of the energy simulation program is that it holds too many input variables, and it needs experts to model a building. So, our purpose of this study is to develop the simplified thermal load calculation program for building energy analysis which eliminates coordinates of building components instead of using full coordinates by using DOE2. Since the engine of the program is DOE2, we verified the validity of S-DOE by comparing peak heating & cooling load results and annual energy use results. The results shows that there are little difference between VisualDOE and S-DOE. Also it showed that S-DOE took less time to input variables than VisualDOE. These results reveals that the application of S-DOE is possible to accurately predict energy load and energy use of the building and still have strong point that it takes less time to analyse building energy.

  • Energy demands for hotels in Korea are surveyed and statistically analyzed to develop calculation models for a simulation. Daily energy loads of 16 hotels located in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Inchon, and Daejon are analyzed based on energy log sheets. Detailed hourly loads are field measured for 3 hotels that are carefully selected among the surveyed. One of the salient features for energy consumption by hotels is their weekly periodicity. Relatively large values of deviations are observed for both heat and electricity loads through the country. The mains factors are: location, hotel grade (luxuriousness) and insulation. Detailed quantitative information such are annual average, daily variation, and hourly patterns are provided.

  • Climate change and energy security are major factors for future national energy policy. To resolve these issues, many countries are focusing on creating new growth industries and energy services such as smartgrid, renewable energy, microgrid, energy management system, and peer to peer energy trading. The financial and economic evaluation of new energy services basically requires energy savings estimation technologies. This paper presents the baseline load estimation method, which is used to calculate energy savings resulted from participating in the new energy program, using moving average model with heating degree days (HDD) and cooling degree days (CDD) adjustment. To demonstrate the improvement of baseline load estimation accuracy, the proposed method is tested. The results of case studies are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed baseline load estimation method.

  • Leading developed countries have studied energy self-sufficient houses such as zero or low energy buildings to reduce energy consumption for buildings since the early 1990s. Moreover, some developed countries have actually constructed self-sufficient houses and operated them for demonstration, expanding use of such houses. Korea has also established Zero Energy Solar House(ZeSH) and studied energy independence. Therefore, this study analyzed research result regarding ZeSH, self-sufficient energy house hold of Korea, found out technologies used for heating energy independence, used building interpretation program(ESP_r) to evaluate performance of each factors and analyzed energy reduction quantitatively. Results from the research are as follows: Reduction rate of actual detached house's heating load was also analyzed quantitatively depending on application of each technology. When each factor was applied step-by-step, annual reduction rate of heating load depending on increase in insulation thickness reached 6.6~22.2 %. Annual reduction rate of heating load depending on increase insulation thickness, and change in window heating performance and area ratio reached 31.5 %. Annual reduction rate of heating load through high-sealing and high-insulation depending on change in leakage rate reached 40.0~88.9 %. Annual reduction of heating load, when Mass Wall and attached sun space was applied were applied reached 28.5~39.2 %, respectively.
