체외수정을 위한 과배란유도 주기에서 내인성 LH Surge의 발생에 관한 연구 (Clinical Evaluation of Endogenous LH Surge in Superovulation Cycle for I.V.F.)

  • 71 cycles of 67 women were treated for superovulation induction in our IVF & ET program from May to September in 1988. Endogenous LH surges were occurred in 21 cycles out of 71 cycles. And then, we selected 50 cycles without endogenous LH surge treated in the same period as control group. We compared egg recovery rate, egg maturity, fertilization rate, cleavage rate and pregnancy rate of study group with those of control group. We were able to detect more than 90% of endogenous LH surge by commencing daily LH monitoring on MCD 9. The egg recovery rate, egg maturity, fertilization rate, and pregnancy rate of the study group were not statistically different from those of the control group. Significantly lower cleavage rate was seen in the study group compared with that of control group. Above results suggested that the cycles with endogenous LH surge do not have to be abandoned and can be treated continuously to achieve successful pregnancy.

  • 레트로바이러스(Retrovirus; RV)의 독특한 특징 중 하나는 프로바이러스의 상태로 숙주세포의 염색체에 삽입되어 숙주세포 유전자의 일부분으로서 다른 숙주세포 유전자들과 함께 다음세대로 유전된다는 것이다. 이러한 독특한 형태의 RV를 내인성 RV (endogenous RV; ERV)라고 하는데, 여러 종류의 내 외적신호에 의해 그자신의 유전자뿐만 아니라 인근한 숙주유전자의 발현에 변화가 일어난다. 사람과 쥐에서는 각각 HERV (Human ERV)와 MuERV (Murine ERV)가 세포 속에 존재하여 이들의 발현 변화가 숙주 생물체에 주로 해롭게 작용하여 질병을 일으키게 된다. 이들 ERV는 생체분자, 세포물질들이 관여하는 기작을 통해 암과 자가면역 반응과 같은 질병을 일으키는데, 이에 수반하여 많은 병리생리적 변화를 가져온다. HERV와 관련된 질병을 앓고 있는 환자들을 위해서는 이러한 질병을 이해하고, 이를 바탕으로 치료요법을 개발하기 위해 여러 단계의 대책들이 고려되어야 한다.

  • 포스트케인즈학파(PK) 내생화폐이론에 따르면, 기업은 신규투자를 수행하기 위해 은행에 대한 대부수요를 만들고, 이에 대한 은행의 대출공급으로 예금화폐가 창조된다. 은행의 자산 측면에서의 신용창조가 부채측면에서 화폐창조로 이어지면서 은행의 대차대조표에서 실물과 화폐가 연결된다. 이 글은 은행의 기능을 중심으로 황재홍(2005)에 대한 비판적 고찰을 통하여 케인즈와 PK 내생화폐이론을 살펴보고자 한다. 이로써 다음과 같은 결론이 도출된다. 첫째, PK 내생화폐이론의 기반을 케인즈에게서 찾을 수 있다. 둘째, 케인즈의 화폐내생성과 빅셀의 그것은 본질적 측면에서 서로 다르다. 마지막으로, PK 내부의 수평주의자와 구조주의자의 논쟁을 이들의 논의의 결론이 아닌 분석상의 차이점에 초점을 두고 보면, 내생화폐이론과 유동성 선호이론은 케인즈 이론 체계에서 양립가능한 이론이 될 수 있다.

실시간 동영상 시청시 주제탐색조건과 주제관련성이 내재적 유발전위 활성에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Topic Exploration and Topic Relevance On Amplitudes of Endogenous ERP Components in Real-Time Video Watching)

  • To delve into the semantic gap problem of the automatic video summarization, we focused on an endogenous ERP responses at around 400ms and 600ms after the on-set of audio-visual stimulus. Our experiment included two factors: the topic exploration of experimental conditions (Topic Given vs. Topic Exploring) as a between-subject factor and the topic relevance of the shots (Topic-Relevant vs. Topic-Irrelevant) as a within-subject factor. For the Topic Given condition of 22 subjects, 6 short historical documentaries were shown with their video titles and written summaries, while in the Topic Exploring condition of 25 subjects, they were asked instead to explore topics of the same videos with no given information. EEG data were gathered while they were watching videos in real time. It was hypothesized that the cognitive activities to explore topics of videos while watching individual shots increase the amplitude of endogenous ERP at around 600 ms after the onset of topic relevant shots. The amplitude of endogenous ERP at around 400ms after the onset of topic-irrelevant shots was hypothesized to be lower in the Topic Given condition than that in the Topic Exploring condition. The repeated measure MANOVA test revealed that two hypotheses were acceptable.

  • The successful elucidation of the opiate receptor and its natural ligands has generated speculation that other drugs might interact with cellular sites designed to accommodate endogenous mediators. The properties of binding sites for the cardiac glycosides(CG), together wit the potency and specificity of the digitalis drugs suggest that CG mimic an endogenous digitalis-like factor. Recenthy, several laboratories have reported the potency in mammalian tissues and fluids of unidentified materials that share certain specific propeties of the CG. Identification of body's own digitalis might yield a natural co pound whose synthetic analogs may provide safer and more effective drugs than can be achieved by structural edification of the CG of plant origin.

Endogenous lipid pneumonia in a ringed seal (Pusa hispida subsp. ochotensis)

  • An adult female ringed seal died suddenly and was subsequently examined for diagnostic purposes. The animal's lungs demonstrated mild non-collapsibility and multifocal white to yellow patches. Histopathological examination revealed multifocal pulmonary histiocytosis. Alveoli were filled with numerous foamy macrophages cytoplasm and scattered multinucleated giant cells containing cholesterol clefts. The foamy cytoplasm of the macrophages stained with oil red O stain. Further, lipid droplets within the cytoplasm were detected by electron microscopy. To the author's knowledge, this is the first case report describing the histochemical staining and electron microscopic findings associated with endogenous lipid pneumonia in ringed seal.

Isolation and Characterization of Exogenously Expressed Calmodulin from Endogenous Tobacco Calmodulin by Anion-exchange Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography

  • A Mono Q HR 5/5 anion-exchange column with a FPLC system was used to separate exogenously expressed calmodulin from endogenous tobacco calmodulins. Transgenic tobacco calmodulins were purified by fractionation with ammonium sulfate, precipitation with sulfuric acid and hydrophobic chromatography on phenyl-Sepharose CL-4B. The purified calmodulins were chromatographed in the FPLC using the column. This method was selected because of the slight differences in the net charge of foreign and endogenous plant calmodulins due to amino acid sequence differences. By this approach, the exogenously expressed calmodulin was isolated from endogenous tobacco calmodulins. The isolated calmodulin was characterized by amino acid composition analysis as well as methylation analysis.

Effects of Sodium Cyanide (NaCN) on the Endogenous Rhythm of the Oxygen Consumption Rate in the Black Rockfish Sebastes schlegeli

  • Laboratory bioassays were conducted to test the acute toxicity effects of sudden exposure to sodium cyanide (NaCN) on the endogenous rhythm of the oxygen consumption rate (OCR) in the black rockfish Sebastes schlegeli. The OCR of the black rockfish(n = 14, total length = $20.4{\pm}1.16\;cm$, wet weight = $158{\pm}25\;g$) was measured with an automatic intermittent-flow-respirometer. OCR decreased significantly when experimental fish were exposed to NaCN. When exposed to 10 ppb NaCN, fish were able to recover their OCR rhythmic activities. When fish were exposed to 20 ppb, however, the metabolic activity rhythms were not recovered. These results suggest that exposure to NaCN concentrations over 20 ppb cause severe physiological damage to the endogenous rhythms of black rockfish.

  • Repair mechanisms in the postnatal and mature central nervous system(CNS) have long been thought to be very limited. However recent works have shown that the mature CSN contains neural progenitors, precursors, and stem cells that are capable of generating new neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes especially in germinative areas such as the subventricular zone of the lateral ventricles, the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus. These findings raise the possibilities for the development of novel neural repair strategies via mobilization and replacement for dying neurons of neural stem cells in situ. Indeed recent reports have provided evidences that endogenous stem cells are activated in response to various injuries, and in some injury models, limited neuronal replacement occurs in the CNS. Here, current understandings for endogenous neurogenesis and induction neurogeneis in postnatal CNS including neonatal brain are summarized and discussed.

  • 내인성안구염은 외부 혹은 내부의 원인으로 인한 안구 내의 염증반응으로 생기는 드문 질환이다. 자기공명영상은 안구염의 진단과 뇌농양의 진단에 모두 유용한 것으로 알려져 있다. 저자들은 내인성안구염과 함께 뇌농양이 동시에 병발된 예가 있어 자기공명영상 소견과 함께 보고하고자 한다.
