Knowledge management strategy is considered a key determinant of successful knowledge management. However, theoretical and empirical researchers disagree on how knowledge management strategies improve firms' performance. The inconsistent results of prior studies may be attributed to the fact that complementary relationships among knowledge management strategies have not been adequately taken into consideration. While the previous literature has focused on investigating the impact of knowledge sourcing strategies on firms' performance one-at-a-time, in reality firms adopt several different knowledge management strategies together. By drawing on complementarity theory, this study revisits this research problem and develops three complementarity hypotheses. Surveys collected from 139 firms in Korea were analyzed to test the hypotheses by using super modularity function. The results confirmed complementary relationships between system- and person-oriented, and between internal- and external-oriented knowledge management strategies. Our results found no complementarity among the four different knowledge management strategies. This study sheds new light on knowledge management research by developing a new conceptual framework and using advanced analytical approaches to explore the relationship between knowledge management strategies and firms' performance. Implications for practice highlight that a successful knowledge management strategy requires a judicious combination of system- and person-oriented, or of internal- and external-oriented knowledge management strategies.
Recent academic studies have investigated book-tax differences as an indicator of earnings management. Tax accounting texts claim that the differences between pre-tax financial reporting earnings and taxable income can provide information about current earnings, and the large differences between book and taxable incomes are an indicator of low-quality financial reporting earnings. This study investigates the effect of internal control system over book and tax difference using the KOSPI and KOSDAQ firms from 2006 to 2008. The empirical findings are consistent with a weakness of internal control system being associated with higher book-tax difference. That means a firm which has material weakness in the internal control system allows for more malpractice. In addition to this, If the managers tries to the efficient tax decrease strategy, book-tax difference can be large. Which in turn leads us to observe a positive relation between the weakness of internal control system and intensity of book-tax difference. Overall, we interpret this evidence as indicating that the failure of the internal control system can effect not only investors and creditors but also tax authorities. And It emphasizes that a more effective internal control system linked with sound corporate governance.
Internet shopping has continued to grow rapidly in the past decade. The main cause of this growth was the cheap price and convenience. However, internet shopping is uncertain compared to off-line shopping malls. Consumers don't have a chance to directly see and touch the products they will purchase. Many previous studies have suggested a trust to resolve this uncertainty. For purposes of the study, we examined how trust affects word-of-mouth effect and third-party assurance. Furthermore, using perceived risk and perceived price as moderating effects, we analyzed to see how each group-that is, those with high perceived risk and low perceived risk and those with high perceived price and low perceived price-shows differences in trust building. The results of empirical study found that both two variables of word-of-mouth effect and third-party assurance have significant impacts in trust building of internet shopping malls. It was proven that each group-those with high perceived risk and low perceived risk and those with high perceived price and low perceived price-showed differences in trust building. The results are expected to provide both the researchers of the trust study and hands-on worker with important implications.

A number of studies have been conducted recently regarding the development of automation systems for the construction sector. Much of this attention has focused on earthwork because it is highly dependent on construction machines and is regarded as being basic for the construction of buildings and civil works. For example, technologies are being developed in order to enable earthwork planning based on construction site models that are constructed by automatic systems and to enable construction equipment to perform the work based on the plan and the environment. There are many problems that need to be solved in order to enable the use of automatic earthwork systems in construction sites. For example, technologies are needed for enabling collaborations between similar and different kinds of construction equipment. This study aims to develop a construction system that imitates collaborative systems and decision-making methods that are used by humans. The proposed system relies on the multi-agent concept from the field of artificial intelligence. In order to develop a multi-agent-based system, configurations and functions are proposed for the agents and a framework for collaboration and arbitration between agents is presented. Furthermore, methods are introduced for preventing duplicate work and minimizing interference effects during the collaboration process. Methods are also presented for performing advance planning for the excavators and compactors that are involved in the construction. The current study suggests a theoretical framework and evaluates the results using virtual simulations. However, in the future, an empirical study will be conducted in order to apply these concepts to actual construction sites through the development of a physical system.

Since the 1990s, the brand has established itself as an important factor to consumers. Consumers is affected by not only the product's physical properties and functions but also the sensitivity associated with the consumption or the product itself. Thus, Many studies has been very active because of the increased interest to the brand that is recognized as one of the intangible assets that create value for the company. The purpose of this paper is to provide the result of methodical analysis about the relationship among leading variables that affect on brand loyalty. Concretely, by methodically defining the relationship among perceived brand quality, customer satisfaction and brand trust, that is leading variable which affect on brand loyalty, focused on frequently used oil companies, this paper would suggest scientific and practical implications through draw a conclusion that this relationship contributes on brand loyalty. The results of empirical test are as follows. Customer perceived brand quality based on fuel quality, positively influence on customer satisfaction and brand trust. Then, customer satisfaction and brand trust positively influence on brand loyalty. According to the results of this study in the oil market, customer cannot distinguish fuel product quality itself among oil companies. Therefore it is strongly suggested that oil companies build and maintain brand loyalty on the basis of perceived brand quality, customer satisfaction and brand trust.

The basic purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among entrepreneurial intention, university supports for startup, and startup activities of university students. For the study, we identified the influence factors of students' startup intention based on reviewing preceding studies and examined how these factors affect their intention of new venture startup. In addition, this study attempted to examine how these factors that can have a significant impact on entrepreneurial intention affect startup activities and analyzed how entrepreneurial intention would mediate the relationship between these influence factors and startup activities. A total of 769 students who chosen by random were surveyed and all questionnaires were sent by mail to the universities that entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial programs were selected as the forerunners from the government. As a result, this study revealed that student's psychological traits such as entrepreneurial self-efficacy and risk-taking have significant effect on the intention of startup. And student's exposure to the role models and various entrepreneurial experiences such as entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial student's club in the university has significantly positive influence on the intention of startup. This study also found that the effects of these explanatory variables of this research on startup activities have been partially mediated by entrepreneurial intention. The entrepreneurial intention was also proven to have a significant effect on startup activities. Finally, the extent to which university supports activities for students' startup moderated the relationship between entrepreneurial intention and university students' startup activities. We believe that these results of this study contribute to the understanding of the entrepreneurship process both theoretical and practical perspectives.

This study aims to examine the usage of and satisfaction with neighborhood parks and university campuses and compare through the RPRS analysis of them to figure out how university campuses, as substitutive green spaces, play the role of curative environment for neighboring people. This study relied on two methods: a descriptive method of researching publications and related scholastic writings and an empirical study of researching how the park and campus has been utilized and researching whether the residents are satisfied with the currently existing space and the environment or not, and finally researching how the university campus open space as a curative environment impacts the satisfaction and utilization through reliability analysis. As a result, contribution of healing environment has a relatively high average contribution of 4 or more points, respectively. These results suggest that urban people think that a relationship between man and nature is very important in the overabundance of stress in modern society. It shows that neighborhoods are higher than university campuses in the explanatory of the Attention Restoration Theory, but the campus is higher than the neighborhood park in similarity of configuration. The result of RPRS analysis shows that the therapeutic qualities of the landscape may be very useful to evaluate a college campus open space in "the Revised Perceived Restoration Scale." The results showed that, in future studies, it will be a great help by widespread use of pre-evaluation of the characteristics of restorative environments in the planning, design and other works. To study the impact of the curative features on evaluating future research locations, the location should provide a variety of purposes and motives. At the same time, it should provide specific design ideas to design-related designers by using perceived restoration scale.

In this paper, we propose MPI gridding algorithm of LiDAR data that minimizes the communication between the cores. The LiDAR data collected from aircraft is a 3D spatial information which is used in various applications. Since there are many cases where the LiDAR data has too high resolution than actually required or non-surface information is included in the data, filtering the raw LiDAR data is required. In order to use the filtered data, the interpolation using the data structure to search adjacent locations is conducted to reconstruct the data. Since the processing time of LiDAR data is directly proportional to the size of it, there have been many studies on the high performance parallel processing system using MPI. However, previously proposed methods in parallel approach possess possible performance degradations such as imbalanced data size among cores or communication overhead for resolving boundary condition inconsistency. We conduct empirical experiments to verify the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm. The results show that the total execution time of the proposed method decreased up to 4.2 times than that of the conventional method on heterogeneous clusters.
In spite of the variety of business environments around start-up firms, almost all existing studies on business strategy of new IT firms. The purpose of the present research is to examine the relationships of the corporate capability, competitive advantage and performance of IT enterprise. There was much research for IT enterprise in other lands, but there was a little in Korea. Through previous literature, we can't find differences between IT enterprise strategies and common corporation strategies. So this research treats new strategies of IT. This research is explanatory and three research questions. This research focuses on the determining factors(corporate capability, competitive advantage) and management performance of IT enterprise in Busan area. In order to test the established 3 hypothesis, several multi-variate analyses are used. Factor analysis is used to reduce the competitive advantage question to its underlying factors. Finally, multi-variate regression and analysis is used to determine whether performance differences The result of this study would be useful to practitioners on management and entrepreneurship. Finally, this study is expected to encourage entrepreneurs to create new possibility in IT enterprise and to assist more new operating business strategy.
The purpose of this study is to inquire into the relationship between customer-employee exchange and organizational commitment. To achieve the purpose of this study, preliminary studies on customer-employee exchange, Big 5 character-types and organizational commitment after an overview of these variables were examined to design research models and set up research issues. To verify the research issues, a survey was carried out on employees at beauty shops located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan and Ulsan areas. Questionnaires of collected 374 copies were used for a statistical analysis. The results of empirical analysis disclosed in this study are summarized as follows. First, customer-employee exchange had a positive effect on organizational commitment. Second, conscientiousness and openness of Big 5 character-types had a moderating effect on the relationship between customer-employee exchange and organizational commitment. But extraversion, neuroticism and agreeableness of Big 5 character-types had no moderating effect. The implications available through findings stated above are as follows. First, this study confirmed that good customer-employee exchange improves members' emotional commitment to organization. Second, in practical perspective, it may be effective to select employees with high openness and conscientiousness of character traits.
