Credibility theory has provided with a useful tool the assignment of weighting factor that reflects the credibility of the observed individual and collective experience to secure fair experience rate-,making. We review credibility models which can effectively estimate risk premiums using credibility theory, and suggest an empirical Bayed model based on the collective statistics to estimate the structural parameters. To illustrate the use of evolutionary models, the models are applied to the actual data, such as loss ratio, claim frequencies and severity, in the Korean automobile insurance. Also the possibilities of generalizations and applications of empirical models are discussed.

A good arithmetic random number generator should possess full period, uniformity and independence, etc. To obtain the excellent random number generator, many researchers have found good parameters. Also an initial seed is the important factor in random number generator. But, there is no theoretical guideline for using the initial seeds. Therefore, random number generator is usually used with the arbitrary initial seed. Through the empirical tests, we show that the choice of the initial values for the seed is important to generate good random numbers.

The main purpose of this study is to establish the empirical model of internet banking system. The results of this study shows that the statistical significant lies in confidentially and response among many factors. And additionally another result for recommendation factor by legit analysis that there is the significant result. Thus in the present period, bank company will focus to rise up the reliance of the internet banking system.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the realities of fundraising and distribution of the local community chest in Korea. Until now little empirical study has been conducted concerning the culture of giving. Using the sample of 900 citizens selected from 7 cities and another sample of 230 from policy-making group in 16 local community chest, this study analysed empirical1y how the capacity, motivation and opportunity of the prospective donors are related to giving and the current issues of fundraising and distribution. According to the results of analysis, the level of motivation in giving culture is very low. Also it was found that religious beliefs is the most important motivating factor in giving. Participation in volunteer activities is another important factor to influencing giving. Some effective fundraising strategies are suggested including strengthening the motivation of prospective donors, workplace donation and joint-fundraising with religious organization or other foundation, coordinating fundraising activities between the community chest and other social welfare agencies. Program-oriented distribution and change of some distribution standards are stressed as an effective distribution strategy.

In this research, we study to find core factor of the perceived quality of internal quality and external quality factors on agriculture products and food industry. By empirical research, we prove that the perceived quality effects to the customer attitude on agricultural products and food Industry. The results of this research can contribute in working-level practical use about quality problem in agriculture products and food industry. A damper floating ring seal with round hole pattern surfaces is suggested for better leakage control. The flat plate test of the round hole pattern surfaces has been performed to yield an empirical friction factor model. The exact predictions of the lock­up position of the damper floating ring, the leakage performance, and the rotordynamic coefficients of the seal are necessary to evaluate the rotordynamic performance of the turbo pump unit. The governing equations including the empirical friction factor model for round hole pattern surfaces are solved by the Fast Fourier Transform method. The lock­up position, leakage flow rate, and rotordynamic coefficients are evaluated according to the geometric parameters of the damper floating ring seal. Theoretical results show that the damper floating ring seals yield less leakage and better rotordynamic stability than the floating ring seal with a smooth surface.

IT platform migration to open systems (IPMO) bears a great deal of risk over all the associated processes, in terms of a major IT investment. Hence it requires empirical data and references for decision making. Although there have been a number of published papers encouraging or discouraging IPMO, the studies that deliver useful empirical evidence for IPMO decisions are rare. The obvious first step to resolve this problem would be to gain lessons from the organizations who experienced IPMO. Based on the Delphi study, we examine both the pre and post evaluations on IPMO benefits and risks and analyze the underlying reasons of different evaluations from different stages. Our results identify the most important factor the organizations should seriously consider, and which factor is easy to neglect at the ex-ante appraisal stage.

The success of new product is a key factor for getting competitive advantages. Marketing research has been investigating marketing capability, manufacturing technical capability, cross-functional integration, market knowledge competence, and competitive environment as the key success factors of new product advantage. Recently, the role of IT capability in enhancing new product advantage is assumed in the literature. However, the empirical studies on the role of IT capability are lacking. The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of IT capability on new product competitive advantages and the relationship between IT capability and the key success factors for new product advantage. Conducting an empirical field study, the IT capability is shown to have a direct effect on new product competitive advantages, and to be also the key success factor to make up for marketing capability and manufacturing technical capability. This study develops a conceptual model on the role of IT capability in enhancing new product competitive advantages by integrating marketing research and IS research.

Container terminal productivity is a critical factor for both the terminal operator and liner companies. For the former it is a determinant factor of the competitiveness and profit of terminal, and for the later it is one that determines ships' tern round time and hence ships' operation costs. The concept and measures of productivity are however not well defined and unified throughout terminals in the world. This paper therefore deals with the empirical study on the evaluation of container terminal productivity. It first clarifies the concept of terminal productivity, and secondly based on the actual data on container terminals in and outside Korea, productivity is evaluated and compared. Finally, problems hampered efficient operation of Korean terminals are derived, and several comments are suggested for solving them.
