For the last decades, criticism on Frankenstein has tried to make a link between Victor's Creature and Rousseaurean "man in a state of nature." Like the Rousseaurean savage in a state of animal, the monster has only basic instincts least needed for his survival, i.e. self-preservation, but turns into a civilized man after learning language. Most critics argue that, despite the monster's acquisition of language, his failure in entry into a cultural and linguistic community is the outcome of a lack of sympathy for him by others, which displays the stark existence of epistemological barriers between them. That is to say, the monster imagines his being the same as others in the pre-linguistic stage but, in the linguistic stage, he realizes that he is different from others. Interpreting the Rousseaurean idea of language, which appears in his writings, as much more focused on emotion than many critics think, I read the dispute between Victor and his Creature as a variation of parent-offspring conflict. Shelley criticizes Rousseau's parental negligence in putting his children into a foundling hospital and leaving them dying there. The monster's revenge on uncaring Victor parallels the likely retaliation Rousseau's displaced children would perform against Rousseau, which Shelley imaginatively reproduces in her novel. The conflict between the monster and Victor is due to a disrupted attachment between parent and child in terms of Darwinian developmental psychology. Affective asynchrony between parent and child, which refers to a state of lack of mutual favorable feelings, accounts for numerous dysfunctional families. This paper shifts a focus from a semiotics-oriented perspective on the monster's social isolation to a Darwinian perspective, drawing attention to emotional problems transpiring in familial interactions. In doing so, it finds that language is a means of communicating one's internal emotions to others along with other means such as facial expressions and body movements. It also demonstrates that how to promote emotional well-being in either familial or social relationships entirely depends on the way in which one employs language that can entail either pleasure or anger on hearers' part.
The purpose of this study is to investigate how the impact on the basic psychological needs and emotional and motor sports commitment to participate in 12 weeks of Physically Disabled wheelchair tennis class. Results: First, the basic psychological needs is a difference between groups was found in the autonomy and the relationship of the sub-factors autonomy, competence, was the difference in time measured between the castle. Traditional nutrition education has not been shown to consistently produce behavior change. While it has been suggested that using emotion-based messages may be a better way to influence nutrition behavior change, this has not been well tested. Producing emotion-based messages is a multi-step process that begins with exploring subconscious barriers to behavior change rather than the more obvious and typically reported barriers. The purpose of this research was to uncover the emotional reasons, sometimes referred to as emotional pulse points, for mothers' choosing or not choosing to have more family meals. This would then serve as the first step to developing emotion-based messages promoting the benefits of family meals. Five focus group interviews were conducted with 51 low-income Black (n=28) and white (n=23) mothers. Metaphorical techniques were used to determine underlying feelings toward family and family meals. Discussions were video-taped, transcribed, and manually analyzed using a content-driven, immersion/crystallization approach to qualitative data analysis. Four themes emerged around the definition of family: acceptance, sharing, chaos, and protective/loyal. Some mothers felt mealtime was merely obligatory, and described it as stressful. Some reported a preference for attending to their own needs instead of sitting down with their children, while others felt that mealtime should be used to interact with and educate children and felt guilty when they were not able to provide family meals. Three themes emerged around feelings towards having or not having family meals: unimportant, important, and guilty. When explored further, mothers indicated that using the feeling of guilt to encourage family meals might be effective. Data obtained are being used to develop innovative, emotion-based messages that will be tested for effectiveness in promoting family meals.
Quality of life(QOL) and fatigue in cancer patients receiving the radiotherapy was assessed. The subjects were 46 cancer patients who daily attended the radiotherapy department. Assessment was done on four occassions : the first assessment was done on the treatment simulation visit, the second one was four weeks after treatment started, the third one at the completion of treatment and the last assessment was done between six and eight week following treatment. The results are as follows : The fatigue scores of the patients at each stage of assessment ranged from 5.49 points to 7.67 points and highest score was recorded at the third assessment that is, at the completion of treatment. The fatigue points showed an increase from the 1st. to 3rd. stage. However, at the 4th. stage, fatigue points decreased to the level at the first stage of assessment. QOL were assessed in three areas namely, physical, emotional and social /functional. The QOL scores in the physical area showed the highest score, followed by social /functional and emotional areas. The QOL scores decreased gradually to the third. stage of assessment thereafter recovered to the level of the first. stage. Correlation between QOL and fatigue scores during the treatment indicated that the level of QOL decreased as the level of fatigue increased. In particular, fatigue persisted after completion of the treatment and showed a significantly negative correlation with QOL. The present study strongly suggests that a strategy to restore the emotional well being level of the patient should be devised in order to improve QOL and reduce fatigue of patients receiving radiotherapy.

To this, this study collects the emotional vocabulary in the games to suggest the evaluation system that can evaluate the emotion the user feels while playing the game with the usage of the evaluation system that is leaned toward the existing usage evaluation system, and through factor analysis, we classify them into interactivity, interface and information factors and suggest the emotion evaluation system while designing the evaluation questions according to it.
A Study of the Emotionality of Child and Mother The purpose of this study is primarily to understand the emotional climate of child and mother, which is a significant factor in child study and the home life. A sample was collected from a total of 1,592 of whom 796 are elementary school children with their mothers. Of these 796 children 440 are fom private schools, 190 from public schools in Seoul. The rest are taken from a farming area, 100 kilometers from Seoul. The data was basically obtained through answers to a questionaire distributed in September 1973. In this study, the cross-sectional method, percentage calculation and chi-square test are adapted from factor analysis. With this limited amount of data special attention now, the following conclusions can be drawn from this analysis although special attention should be given in making any kind of generalization about the entire population. 1) Children's emotionality (a) There is a higher percentage of emotionally well-adjusted children as opposed to maladjusted children.(51%>11%) (b) There is no correlation between children's emotionality and the following factors: grade, sex, residential area, school records, and educational level of their mothers. 2) Mother's Emotionality (a) There are more mothers who consider themselves happy than unhappy.(49%>2%) On the other hand a higher percentage of mothers reported feelings of tension and insecurity as compared to those who had feelings of firm security(65%>5%) (b) There is a high correlationshionship between marital adjustment and marital happiness. In other words, the more adjusted, the happier. A high marital happiness has strong influence on the preference of sex, on children's adjustment to their friends, and their present living condition. (c) There is a close relationship between a high marital adjustment and the social development of a child: being fond of fathers, homelife, and the acquaintance with many friends. In the same way, the positive emotionality of a mother in raising her children and their school records are also important. 3) Emotional relationship between a mother and her chid There is a close bond of love and respect between a mother and her child. Moreover, a high frequence of close and open-minded communication exist between them in a family. It is evident that the emotional climate of the mother has a strong and powerful influence on her child.
This paper introduces a smart aging service that helps the elderly lead a happy old age by actively utilizing IoT and AI technologies for the elderly who are increasing rapidly as they enter the aging society. In particular, we propose a future-oriented, age-friendly well-being support system that breaks away from the existing welfare concept to solve the aging problem but leads to a paradigm shift toward building a vibrant aging society by protecting from emergency and satisfying emotions. By introducing IoT and AI, it judges the life situation and emotional state from the living information of the elderly can respond to emergencies and suggest meetings as a change of mood and give an emotional comfort. Since the proposed system uses artificial intelligence techniques to determine the degree of depression when inputting information such as pulse-rate, dangerous word usage, and external communication, I think it showed the feasibility of the new concept of wellbeing support system that is totally different from conventional wellbeing concept of health-care.
Manufacturing workers face increased fatigue and stress due to environmental factors in workplace such as noise and vibration. Addressing this issue requires creating conducive rest spaces; however, the existing conditions of rest spaces in manufacturing workplace are subpar and lack sufficient scholarly evidence. This study investigated the effect of nature-based rest spaces on the physical and emotional recovery from fatigue on manufacturing workers. Three manufacturing complexes with nature-friendly rest spaces were selected, and 63 manufacturing workers participated in the study. The measurement tools included the Multidimensional Fatigue Scale (MFS) for fatigue levels, physiological indicators (blood pressure and heart rate), and emotional indicators (Zuckerman Inventory of Personal Reaction Scale; ZIPERS, Perceived Restorativeness Scale; PRS, Profile of Mood States; POMS and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory; STAI). The study compared recovery levels during a 7-minute rest between a space without plants and a space with natural elements. The results indicated a significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure of participants in green rest spaces compared with those in conventional rest spaces. Regarding fatigue levels, green rest spaces showed a decrease in systolic blood pressure in the middle-fatigue and high-fatigue groups. Positive feelings increased in green spaces, whereas negative emotions decreased, suggesting that short breaks in nature-friendly environments effectively promote workers' physical and emotional recovery. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the importance of green space in various work environments to promote well-being in workers.
Categorization is very important for product design. Consumer's emotion become different according to a type of categorization, so design concept and design elements must be combined differently with difference of the emotion. Specially, categorization process is necessary if nowadays product line is enlarged, and a product differentiation is not clear. That is, designers decide on correct categories and a design concept based on similarity of emotion and have to provide to consumer-oriented design. The purpose of this study is to provide a design direction for Korean traditional sauce products after extracting consumers' sensitivity from the whole image of Korean traditional sauce and each images of the sauces-korean hot pepper paste, soybean paste, fermented soybeans paste, SsamJang, and soy sauce- and deciding categories of the each sauces based on the extracted sensitivities' similarity. In the result of this study, we knew that Korean traditional sauces didn't differentiate from consumers' preference images. In our empirical research, the research - emotional image survey on sauces - have conclusion that emotional image of "well-being", "tasty" have positive influence, but emotional image of "messy and dirty", "smelly" have negative influence. Therefore, we suggest that positive emotional images like "tasty" should be emphasized, but negative emotional images like "messy" should be eliminated for design and marketing strategy of Korean traditional sauces. This research will suggest the guideline for product design with respect to academic aspects and working-level aspects.
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and risk factors of infant dyschezia as well as pediatrician awareness regarding this disease in Indonesia. Methods: This is a two-part cross-sectional study, which was divided into study A and B. Study A: Parents whose infants were under 9 months old and attended well-baby clinics were recruited at two randomly selected primary health centers. Parents also provided information on the infant's previous medical history, and socio-demographic and family details. The Rome IV criteria was translated and validated to be used for diagnosis of infant dyschezia. Study B: Randomly selected pediatricians were surveyed by using a questionnaire to evaluate their knowledge regarding infant dyschezia. Results: The prevalence of infant dyschezia based on the result of this study was 11.8%. Three risk factors had a significant relationship with infant dyschezia i.e., the number of children in the family (odds ratio [OR], 5.619; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.194-14.390; p<0.001), complementary food diet (OR, 4.238; 95% CI, 1.902-9.443; p<0.001), and social-emotional disturbance (OR, 5.670; 95% CI, 2.550-12.609; p<0.001). The percentage of pediatricians correctly diagnosed infant dyschezia was 71.5%. Most pediatricians agreed that they did not perform any diagnostic testing (79.7%) and only provided education in cases of infant dyschezia (58.5%). Conclusion: The prevalence of infant dyschezia identified in our study was higher than that in other neighboring Asian countries, with the highest prevalence observed in infants 7-9 months old. Being an only child, receiving complementary food diet, and sociao-emotional disturbances were significant risk factors of infant dyschezia.
