  • This research, which was experimented by dividing tangible and intangible products, established the influence that affects recovery for consumers' complaint behavior and behavioral intention as per each different compensation program. In Experiment 1, the consumers, who experienced complaint behavior owing to company's mistake, have preferably recovered through the compensation program offered by the company. However, there was a significant difference in preference recovery between products that caused complaint behavior. According to the study result, the more clear preference recovery was shown in the case of purchasing laptop than the case of dining in family restaurant. Additionally, the consumers' emotion recovery was possible through compensation.; There was a emotion recovery disparity depending on product type between purchasing laptop case and dining in family restaurant case. The consumers, who experienced complaints, were only able to recover their preference, emotion, and behavioral intention through compensation of which recovery was greater in tangible product case than ordinary service. Meanwhile, there was no distinct difference between recovery compensation types even though the products were identical-type ones whereas it appeared that such tangible product which showed greater purchasing effort as laptop computer was more effective in stimulating emotion response. In Experiment 2, the purpose was to find out the difference between complaint behavior and its recovery process shown after purchase by Korean and Japanese college students, who have different consumer purchasing habits. The both consumers of the two countries, who experienced complaint behavior, demonstrated precise difference in preference recovery while the emotion and behavioral intention exhibited no disparity between the two consumer groups. In this experiment, it was learned that Korean college students were show-off purchase type consumers while on the other hand, the Japanese college students were famous product purchase type consumers. Thus, there was a clear difference in laptop computer purchase process and post-purchase evaluation between these two groups. In particular, the Korean college students had quicker preference recovery through compensation than the Japanese college students on account of their tendency to be consciousness of others. Nevertheless, there was no difference between the emotion recovery and re-purchase recovery and therefore, the compensation program for complaints was proven to affect the emotion and behavioral intention.

  • People can listen to almost every type of music by music streaming services without possessing music. Ironically it is difficult to choose what to listen to. A music recommendation system helps people in making a choice. However, existing recommendation systems have high computation complexity and do not consider context information. Emotion is one of the most important context information of music. Lyrics can be easily computed with various language processing techniques and can even be used to extract emotion of music from itself. We suggest a music-level similarity evaluation method using emotion and structure. Our result shows that it is important to consider semantic information when we evaluate similarity of music.

To that end, welfare facilities and schools for the elderly and churches located in Seoul, and Suwon and Osan areas were visited and surveys were executed on 350 aged people who had experienced spouse bereavement from September 26 through October 25, 2014. Analysis was executed for 325 questionnaires out of the total of 350 using SPSS WIN 20. Study findings are as follows: first, the average of emotion and social interaction due to bereavement was not significantly different between groups; second, the average of emotion and social interaction due to bereavement period was not significantly different between groups; third, the impact of bereavement type and period statistically significant. These findings implies that social interaction programs for the aged people can be developed regardless of bereavement cause or period.

  • This study examined how the learning styles and emotions of 234 students enrolled in early childhood education-related departments affected their ability to participate in the learning community. The research collected the variables of the pre-service early childhood teachers' ability to participate in the learning community, the emotions that they experienced while learning, and their learning styles. The collected data were analyzed through correlation analysis and regression analysis. The results indicate that the students' ability to participate in the learning community was positively correlated with the following: their analytical learning attitude (among learning styles); learning motivation; degree of preference for discussion and discussion types; positive and negative emotions, which are subcategories of learning emotion; and the degree of preference for experimentation and their practice type among teaching methods. Second, regression analysis showed that the students' ability to participate in the learning community could be predicted by negative emotion as a subcategory of their learning emotion, learning motivation, degree of preference for the experiment and practice type, their analytical learning attitude, and the degree to which students value studying the content of their major subjects.

  • Not only emotions affect physical sensations, but they also have an impact on physical movements. The responses to emotions vary depending on the type of emotional stimuli. However, research on the effects of emotional stimuli on the activation of bodily movements has not been rigorously examined, and these effects have not been investigated in Autonomous Emotion Recognition (AER) systems. In this study, we aimed to compare the emotional responses of 20 participants to three types of emotional stimuli (words, pictures, and videos) and investigate their activation or deactivation for the AER system. Our dependent measures included emotional responses, computer-based self-reporting methods, and bodily movements recorded using motion capture devices. The results suggested that video stimuli elicited higher levels of emotional movement, and emotional movement patterns were similar across different types of emotional stimuli for happiness, sadness, anger, and neutrality. Additionally, the findings indicated that bodily changes observed during video stimuli had the highest classification accuracy. These findings have implications for future research on the bodily changes elicited by emotional stimuli.

  • The previous research suggested a self-report questionnaire-type scale to measure a user's emotions naturally expressed while using a product. Using the scale, this research measured their emotions expressed while users use cellular phones naturally for a certain time without setting tasks. The results suggest that the cellular phone of high usability lead to higher 'Satisfaction in Usability' and lower 'Uncomfortableness' than the cellular phone with usability flaws. On the other hand the cellular phone with usability flaws lead to higher 'Uncomfortableness' and lower 'Satisfaction in Usability' but higher in other representative emotions such as 'Aesthetics', 'Novelty', 'Pleasure', and 'Excellence' than the other cellular phone. It can be insufficient to define the correlation between the product usability and the user's emotions based on the results of this research: however, the correlation between these two factors will be discovered in more detail by analyzing the changes of the user's emotions according to the length of time of using cellular phone.
