The Nuclear power industry today faces a serious and rapidly emerging problem in reactor maintenance and occupational radiation exposure control. The basic problem is the need for much maintenance on nuclear power plants. The problem is seriously compounded by radiation exposure control requirements. Many studies are underway seeking solutions tut the industry is developing rapidly and new plants will not await the results of such studies. It is essential that attention be given to maintenance and exposure control in all phases of plant design, construction and operation.

The studies were conducted constantly to detect emerging technology, in order to make sustainable growth of business and to make development of future nations. But there were many controversies because definition of emerging technology might be dependent of the subject's viewpoint and because it might be different to a point of time that emerging technology is applied to the present or the future. This paper sets times of emerging technology to the present and defines emerging technology as patents significantly used in developing current technology. US Patents and patent citation data were gathered from 1976 to 2007. We constructed hot patents pools that were utilized actively in developing new technologies regardless of times. We built a mapping table from IPC classification code to WIPO 32 technology category and analysed a half-life cycle according to specific technology groups.

The Chinese Belt Road initiatives in the Southeast Asian countries marked a new chapter in the development of China political influence on this region. This article looks at the initiative from the cultural dimension and aims to place its narrative as the entry point to understand the use of identity politics in Asian countries that target the Chinese diaspora. This topic relates to the primordial sentiments of Southeast Asian nations amid massive Chinese investment in the region. The issue of Chinese investments under the Belt Road Initiative corridor has a relationship with the formation of anti-Chinese discourse and anti-communist in some Southeast Asian countries. We took the cases of Indonesian and Malaysian elections to observe the use of identity politics and anti-Chinese political discourse in Southeast Asia. In both cases, a common issue emerged, that of the strengthening both Islamic and indigenous sensibilities. The establishment of ASEAN during the Cold War may be seen then as an anti-thesis to emerging Chinese power. However, anti-Chinese and anti-communism sentiments were not enough to unite the forces of the nations of Southeast Asia. We have concluded that brotherhood, mutual prosperity, and anti-neo-colonialism are yet to be fostered completely to make a distinct ASEAN identity.

Recently, it becomes essential for firms or nations to forecast the future and identify emerging technologies in order to improve R&D efficiency and gain a competitive advantage. Particularly, the mobile communications industry is characterized by rapid advance and wide application of its technology and thus identifying emerging technologies is more important in the industry than in others. Nevertheless, few attempts have been made to explore its emerging technologies. Therefore, this research aims to develop a methodology to identify the future and emerging technologies especially for the industry and applied it to list top ten emerging technologies for 2020 in the industry. For this purpose, firstly, we focused the key issues in the future targeting 2020 and identified user needs relating to them. Then, candidates of emerging technologies were defined from a set of technologies to meet the needs, for which technological and economic feasibility is assessed to determine their priorities. Finally, the top ten most important technologies were selected and verified. This research is distinct from the previous studies in that it takes a market-pull approach instead of a technology-push approach. The research results are expected to provide valuable information to support strategy- and policy-makings in the mobile communications industry.

As the industry develops, the amount of wastes is increasing in the economic system with various needs. As a result, the environmental problems are emerging as serious social issues and all the parties are required to make their best efforts. Among the issues proposed as the environmental issues, the logistics-related issues are exhaustion of the resources, global warming, environmental pollution, and acidification and so on. In order to respond to the environmental issues of the earth, the advanced countries are setting retrenched goals, reduction of the new greenhouse gases and accomplishment of retrenched goals by cooperation between the nations. Economic activities inevitably bring environmental problems and logistics is implementing those activities. The companies should perform the roles to resolve the environmental problems as the main cause of environmental pollution. Therefore, along with spreading recognition of social demand, the companies are required to establish policies regarding the environment and they should approach the issues from the perspective of resource circulation. These environment-friendly activities are emerging as the new source of competitiveness in the logistics field. Therefore, this study analyzes the effects of environment-friendly logistics activities on the reduction of logistics cost to reduce and resolve the environmental issues such as environment preservation, recycling and so on.

This research uses a panel data set of selected developed and emerging economies to investigate the relationship between firm value and the Islamic label. A low-debt company is a proxy for excellent governance, and good governance has a significant positive impact on a company's valuation. We can claim that the Islamic label may also be a proxy for excellent governance and will significantly impact a company's economic value because it reflects low debt Sharia-compliant companies. To explore this relationship, cross-country data from non-financial enterprises in Pakistan, the United States, Malaysia, and Indonesia was acquired from 2010 to 2015. The study's findings indicate that the Islamic label has a positive significant impact on the firm's worth in the whole sample, including all countries. With the exception of the United States, we have also collected the same information at the country level. We also discovered that the corporate governance index at the firm level has a positive significant impact on firm value. The findings show that the Islamic label reflects good governance and hence can be used as a proxy for good governance. The analysis differentiates between Islamic labeled and conventional enterprises in developed and emerging nations, adding to our understanding of who contributes to enhanced corporate financial performance.

Crowd funding faces a number of significant obstacles despite its rapid growth and popularity, with the main one being the possible asymmetric information between fundraisers and potential supporters. A study taxonomy based on signalling theory has been created to compare projects originating from Taiwan and India. This was made possible by obtaining a dataset from the crowd funding website, Kickstarter (Global platform). To make the project effective, the study's goal is to look into how signals (e.g., goal-setting, comments, and updates) might be used to reduce the problem of information asymmetry. Thus, we applied an Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression. Both Taiwan and India demonstrated signal mitigation of information asymmetry, but Taiwan showed a stronger relationship between ambitious goals and successful projects than India. The relative importance of project comments has been found to be stronger in Taiwan than in India; the relative importance of project updates has been found to be weaker and negatively correlated with project success in India, in contrast to Taiwan. Notably, our findings provide a theoretical and practical framework for understanding and using signals in successful crowd funding campaigns and activities in these two emerging countries.

The ICT technology by using smartphone is leading the world. Apple opened the smart age with its smartphone on the first place in the world. In 2013, Samsung of Korea is spotlighted in the world, but China will run after Samsung with medium- and low-priced smartphones equipped with functionality and low and medium prices after 2014. That is, the life cycle of ICT technology gets shorter, and the volume of investment is increased. There is increasing uncertainty of enterprises and nations because the expanded volume of investment. Therefore, it is very important to predict emerging ICT technology, and investment development. Korea based on the creative economy is at the point of strengthening ICT. Therefore, this study aims to analyze intellectual property rights (patent) and the ICT market environment for the emerging ICT technology. The result of analysis will contribute to studying the intellectual property rights (patent) and the R&D matrix module in the ICT market environment for discovering and predicting national emerging ICT technology.
