  • In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving emergency call scheme, called PEC, enabling patients in life-threatening emergencies to fast and accurately transmit emergency data to the nearby helpers via mobile healthcare social networks (MHSNs). Once an emergency happens, the personal digital assistant (PDA) of the patient runs the PEC to collect the emergency data including emergency location, patient health record, as well as patient physiological condition. The PEC then generates an emergency call with the emergency data inside and epidemically disseminates it to every user in the patient's neighborhood. If a physician happens to be nearby, the PEC ensures the time used to notify the physician of the emergency is the shortest. We show via theoretical analysis that the PEC is able to provide fine-grained access control on the emergency data, where the access policy is set by patients themselves. Moreover, the PEC can withstandmultiple types of attacks, such as identity theft attack, forgery attack, and collusion attack. We also devise an effective revocation mechanism to make the revocable PEC (rPEC) resistant to inside attacks. In addition, we demonstrate via simulation that the PEC can significantly reduce the response time of emergency care in MHSNs.

  • To help emergency medical dispatchers receive rapid and accurate identification and corrective action status determination of an emergency call, and to support the automatic processing of a voice recognition system to the Korean emergency medical dispatch system, emergency call records were analyzed. Furthermore, a list of Korean symptoms expression were produced and the characteristics of the symptoms that appear on the actual wording of the telephone records were identified. This language list and its characteristics will be useful for training emergency medical dispatchers.

  • The emergency call device has been installed and operated for the elevator passenger safety, but the call can not be connected or delay to the operator in an emergency. The application of the Internet of Things(IoT) technology is required for the systematic management and reliability of the emergency call device installed in the elevator. To meet these requirements it is necessary to apply the RMS(Remote Management System). Emergency call device periodically reports the operating status information and the emergency call history information of the emergency call device to the RMS in the PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) environment, and transmits the call request information in an emergency. RAS(Remote Access Server) plays a role of converting the PSTN signals to TCP / IP. RMS reports a significant outbreak call and abnormal operating conditions to administrators. In this study, we developed optimized protocol to PSTN environment that is required by RMS and implemented its differentiated process. And a RAS-RMS Protocol was added to the Application Layer. Development protocol consisting of simple structure as compared to CoAP, MQTT or HTTP can work properly in low-spec CPU and transmit elevator emergency key information easily.

  • The existing wired emergency call such as 119, 112 have its own location information to serving immediate rescue service. For the case of wireless emergency call by mobile phone, the location information should be provided by wireless network. This paper describes the network architecture and protocol for mobile emergency service referring TIAlEWJ-SID-036-A with reviews about technical issues, legacy factors and related researches. The mobile emergency service is divided into mobile emergency rescue service and mobile emergency alert service. The network reference model for mobile emergency rescue service is released in KOREA. In this paper, the interfaces between elements of the network reference model, and service scenarios, message flows are defined. Supplement to mobile emergency rescue service, the network reference model, interfaces and message flows for mobile emergency alert service are developed. The protocol is described by DID, and the proposed works are on processing for domestic standard of TTA.

  • Purpose: This study was to clarify correlation between en route distance and role time on call received hours. Methods: Data on en route distance(dependent variable), role time(independent variable) from 387 prehospital care reports documented by EMS in Kyonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters and Seoul Metropolitan Fire and Disaster Department between 21 and 10 June 2010 were randomly chosen for simple regression analysis using Windows SPSS 12. OK. This analysis was conducted nine times on unit hour divided to eight call received and overall. Results: Statistically significant regression equations( Y=2.414+1.206X for 09:00~11:59, Y=3.753+.662X for 12:00~14:59, Y=2.215+1.458X for 15:00~17:59, Y=2.600+.822X for 21:00~23:59, Y=5. 445+.263X for overall) were derieved from the data. Conclusion: These equations having linear relationship may be utilized as a method for system status management to effectively response to emergency call.

  • Objective While the effect of typhoons on emergency medicine has been evaluated, data are scarce on their effects on the emergency medical service (EMS). This study evaluated the effect of typhoons on EMS patients and performance. Methods The study period was January 2010 to December 2012. Meteorological data regarding typhoons were provided by the Korean Meteorological Administration. EMS data were retrieved from the EMS database of the national emergency management agency. The database includes ambulance run sheets, which contain clinical and operational data. In this case-crossover study, the cases and controls were EMS calls on the day of typhoon warnings and calls one week prior to the typhoon warnings, respectively. Results During the study period, 11 typhoons affected Korea. A total of 14,521 cases were selected for analysis. Overall, there were no obvious differences between the case and control groups. However, there were statistically significant differences in age, place, and time requests. There were fewer patients between 0 and 15 years of age (P=0.01) and more unconscious patients (P=0.01) in the case group. The EMS operational performance, as measured by the times elapsed between call to start, call to field, and call to hospital did not differ significantly. There was also no significant difference in the time from hospital arrival between the cases (28.67, standard deviation 16.37) and controls (28.97, standard deviation 28.91) (P=0.39). Conclusion Typhoons did not significantly affect the EMS system in this study. Further study is necessary to understand the reasons for this finding.

  • The elevator system combines various convergence technologies with the development of ICT technology. Emergency call devices which are safety related devices is applied as an obligation of the elevator and those scope also varies. In this paper, we propose an integrated model that overcomes the limitations of existing voice emergency call devices and efficiently manages and manages video call based service structures in VoIP based on wired and wireless environments. This method effectively manages and operates various lift data and video records in the elevator between the manager, the server and the user. And also It is possible to secure the quality of video call in VoIP and cloud service environment and increase the reliability of safety management and enhance various service environment by creating an integrated structure utilizing various data and additional services in the elevator.

  • This paper develop a intelligent personal emergency call system using the wireless sensor network to resolve that a portable problem of established emergency call system. The proposed system is composed of a transmitter nodes for individuals, routing nodes for multihop communications, and a server part. The transmitters for patients are monitored for both low battery and operational status. The transmitters provide location of the person activating an emergency call using RSSI. The efficacy of the proposed system is verified by means of experiments. Experimental results are presented that show the effectiveness.

  • A lot of people were trapped in elevators without power supply when BLACK-OUT situation occurred in 2011. The telephone network of control room connected to the elevators had problem operating poorly. In this paper we propose an ICT based elevator emergency call device prototype system and evaluate the performance of the system. The proposed system quickly responds in emergency situation to guarantee passenger safety. For the goal, firstly the system tries to connect to a control room. If it fails the system attempts to call numbers for emergency contact and a rescue team sequentially. The system is designed to quickly support emergency contact as well. Finally, the information of elevator failure is rapidly transferred to the failure process device by the proposed system.

  • Recently, the evolution of V2X (Vehicle to Everything) technology is accelerating. In particular, it can be seen that C-V2X (Cellular V2X) technology and services combined with mobile telecommunication network are developing rapidly. However, in Korea, e-Call and emergency communication services are inferior to the developed communication technologies and the proportion of vehicles arriving at Golden Hour is considerably low. Therefore, this paper designed the communication architecture with C-V2X and Android operating systems, and presented ways to improve existing e-Call services using V2N (Vehicle to Nomadic Device) communication based on it.
