Fast booting solution with embedded linux-based on the smart devices (임베디드 리눅스 기반 단말기의 빠른 부팅 개선 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a fast booting solution with embedded linux-based smart devices. We have divided the fast boot process into six steps, such as boot loader, kernel, file system, the init-scripts, shared libraries, and applications for an embedded linux-based boot process to improve the fast booting. Improvements for the fast boot are made in the boot loader phase, which is the first phase at power-up, and the init-script that runs the boot loader phase. To improve the fast booting, standby time from the boot loader and unnecessary initialization routine have been removed, and uncompressed kernel image loading as well as optimized copy routine have been applied. Further, a technology that replaces binary scripts in init-script phase and light-weight init process have been utilized to improve the boot.

  • The existing remote control system have some inherent disadvantage of direct control in the limit range. In some special cases, for example, a power apparatus, an unmanned factory, a nuclear factory, a security management system, the tele-operation is needed to control remote robot without limit space. This field is based on the Internet communication. Because the Internet is constructed all over the world. And it is possible that we control remote mobile robot in the long distance. In this paper, we developed a remote control system. This system is divided into two primary parts. These are local site and remote site. There are the moving robot and web server in the remote site and there is the robot control device in local site. The moving robot is moved by two stepper motors and the robot control device consists of SA-1100 micro controller and embedded Linux. And this controller is an embedded system. Public personal computer which is connected the Internet is used for the web server. The web server provides the mobile robot control interface program to the remote controller and captures the image for feedback information. In the whole system, a robot control device is connected with moving robot and web server through the Internet. So the operator can control the moving robot in the distance through the Internet.

  • In this paper, We have designed a face recognition system based on the embedded Linux. This paper has an aim in embedded system to recognize the face more exactly. At first, the contrast of the face image is adjusted with lightening compensation method, the skin and lip color is founded based on YCbCr values from the compensated image. To take advantage of the method based on feature and appearance, these methods are applied to the eyes which has the most highly recognition rate of all the part of the human face. For eyes detecting, which is the most important component of the face recognition, we calculate the horizontal gradient of the face image and the maximum value. This part of the face is resized for fitting the eye image. The image, which is resized for fit to the eye image stored to be compared, is extracted to be the feature vectors using the continuous wavelet transform and these vectors are decided to be whether the same person or not with PNN, to miminize the error rate, the accuracy is analyzed due to the rotation or movement of the face. Also last part of this paper we represent many cases to prove the algorithm contains the feature vector extraction and accuracy of the comparison method.

  • In This paper the embedded linux based embedded control system was used and the tracking antenna system was studied for data link and communication between moving vehicles. A microprocessor based embedded controller is equipped with SA-1110 board and this embedded controller can control the azimuth and the elevation angle of the antenna. The relative position and attitude for pointing are calculated by using the GPS position signals from the moving vehicle. To verify the performance of the designed embedded antenna system, the orbit information of the Arirang satellite(from KARI) is used.

  • By adding user interface to the usual router, an improved functional router is implemented in this paper. The proposed router is developed based on the SA1110 processor, and the system contains 1 ethernet port, 2 PCMCIA slots, and 1 serial communication port. The Emdedded Linux is adopted as an operating system, and application programs are implemented by using QT/Embedded.

  • 최근 내장형 리눅스(Embedded Linux)에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 그중에 내장형 리눅스를 이용한 감시 카메라는 DVR(Digital Video Recorder) 시스템과 카메라와 내장형 보드가 합체된 일체형 카메라를 개발하는 부분으로 연구가 진행 중이다. 본 연구는 내장형 리눅스를 바탕으로 한 웹캠을 이용한 인터넷상에서 감시시스템을 컴퓨터상에서 구현해 봄으로서 웹캠의 구조와 감시 시스템에 대한 연구이다. 내장형 리눅스를 이용한 웹캠은 인터넷을 통한 원격 감시와 DVR 서버를 통한 영상 편집, 제공을 할 수 있다.

  • 대부분의 기존 임베디드 웹 서버 시스템은 어떤 특정 기기를 제어하기 위하여 고안되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 StrongArm 계열의 SA1110 chip을 채택하여 H/W 보드를 설계하고 최적의 웹 서버를 만들었다. 최근 널리 사용되고 있는 SA1110 H/W 보드 설계 중 Ethernet Controller인 CS8900A 설계에 관한 세부 사항들과 Ethernet 관련 Kernel patch에 대한 내용을 다루었다. 그리고 CS8900A에 대한 Network device driver 모듈에 대하여 자세히 언급하며, 제작된 보드를 사용하여 웹 서버 프로그램을 작성하여 MS 익스플로러 6.0환경에서 실험하였다.

  • In this paper, We design a RF control system capable of handling multiple POS thermal printers. The system has three parts including embedded master controller, RF controller and high-speed thermal printer. Specially the designed linux embedded controller has simple structure and high performance to connect the TCP/IP network. The effectiveness of the developed RF control system is shown by proposed food ordering system.
